Scribblenauts Remix – You Don’t Want to Miss It
Calendar16 Wed, 18 Jan 2012 22:10:27 UTC +00:00
01.18.12        App Score: 10/10    Last year Warner Brothers brought 5th Cell’s  award-winning Scribblenauts game to the iOS platform for iPhone in the form of . As evidenced by its original success on the Nintendo DS, Scribblenauts is an ideal game for a mobile platform. During the holidays, the price for Scribblenauts Remix dropped to .99 and fortunately for iPhone owners, the holiday sale has been extended through the new year and it’s one of the best buys in the App Store right now. As with the original game, players must help Maxwell create solutions to various problems by thinking up creative ways to solve each level. Scribblenauts Remix features 40 various levels found in both the original Scribblenauts and Super Scribblenauts games, plus has an additional 10 levels exclusive to the iOS platform. The remix won’t feel all that new to those who have played the previous versions, Read More
New Add-On Content Available for Scribblenauts Remix
Calendar16 Wed, 18 Jan 2012 16:30:53 UTC +00:00
By Rob Rich on January 18th, 2012 Finally finished with Scribblenauts Remix? Nabbed that last starite and feel a sense of completion? Well think again. A good many people have been enjoying collecting starites since Scribblenauts Remix first hit the App Store. It’s a pretty nifty game, after all. The down-side to games like this is that they eventually end once each level has been completed. There’s always the fun of revisiting completed stages in order to see what other bizarre ways its puzzles can be solved, but once it’s done it’s pretty much done. Until the developers release more levels for it, that is. 5th Cell has just made a new batch of 20 levels available for purchase, on top of the preexisting 50. I’m sure there are at least a few players out there who’ve been wishing there was more for them to do since they ran out of Read More

Scribblenauts Remix has been updated with a new holiday-themed playground and support for 180-degree device rotation. As an iPhone 4S exclusive, the game also now advertises that it has full Siri dictation support, so you can use your voice to create virtually any object within the game. Although the makers of Scribblenauts say this is a new feature, I remember using Siri in the game via its dedicated keyboard button in a previous version, so Siri support isn't necessarily new. I've also noticed that Siri's accuracy when taking dictation seems to be precipitously lower than its accuracy in the "Q & A" interface, so while it might be cool to be able to craft a war between a giant Cthulhu and a laser-rifle-toting Santa Claus using the power of your voice, you may find it's easier to stick with the keyboard until Siri's accuracy improves. Scribblenauts Remix is a great game, Read More
Today, 5th Cell and Warner Bros. unleashed an update to [$2.99], the iOS port of the popular franchise from the Nintendo DS. The big new feature in this update is something they're calling Scribblespeak. Scribblenauts is a game where you're able to type in just about anything you can think of, complete with descriptive adjectives, and it will be created for you within the game. This is intended to be the way you solve the many puzzles in the game, as you can create objects that you need to complete the tasks that allow you to pass a level. However, while that's all well and good, the serious fun in Scribblenauts Remix is just thinking up the craziest objects or creatures that you possibly can, and then making them fight each other. At least, that's how I get my kicks, and that goes for just about everybody I know too. This Read More
If your iPhone or iPad's memory still isn't full after you gorged on the various Cyber Monday and Thanksgiving deals, know this: most of the celebratory sales are still active on the App Store. In fact, we've discovered a couple more that we couldn't fit in before the holiday break. That's what this post is all about -- the leftovers. For example, Telltale Games has lowered its games' prices 55-80 percent from the usual. The savings began on November 23, but will continue until tomorrow, November 30. Arghata Studio also bashed the prices of its 1112 series in honor of our Turkey Day, and those sales are still continuing, too, well into this week. Here's a short list of some notables: Odds And Ends Agharta Studios Telltale Games Cool deals, right? As a side-note, if you feel like you've been left out of the initial extravaganza, App Shopper [Free] remains an Read More

Weekend sale on lots of iOS games
Calendar16 Sat, 12 Nov 2011 01:00:00 UTC +00:00
Today is indeed Veterans Day (and we do honor all of the men and women who have served for the United States of America -- thank you!), but the sales on the App Store this weekend haven't really been labeled as such. As far as I can tell, they're on sale just because. Nothing wrong with that! Holy moly, there are some great sales in there. Scribblenauts and Contre Jour are definitely two you should grab now if you haven't, and some of those others are steals as well. Enjoy the weekend! Read More
Application Review: Scribblenauts Remix
Calendar16 Sat, 05 Nov 2011 01:46:14 UTC +00:00
posted by Marcus Nguyen on Friday, November 4, 2011 at 6:46 pm.   The legendary Nintendo DS masterpiece, Scribblenauts, was recently ported to the iOS gaming field. Its innovative gameplay and quirky, lovable drawings are suited perfectly for the casual-gamer audience the App Store has accrued, and the concept of the game is simply brilliant. Scribblenauts is a game that allows a user to generate almost any object (excluding vulgar words and phrases), and interact accordingly with it. The number of possible creations in Scribblenauts is limited only by its vast dictionary, containing a huge repertoire of words. The combination of Scribblenaut’s core idea and its execution creates a wonderful game of incredible worth.  Read on for the full Review: The user plays as Maxwell, a young boy with a penchant for red squiggly helmets and headphones. He is placed in various locations, always aiming to help the task at hand–whether Read More

It's all here. Read on... This week at 148Apps, site editor Rob LeFebvre interviewed Jeremiah Slaczka, creative director behind the mind-blowingly original (and long-awaited) Scribblenauts Remix on iOS. Slaczka says, “…I really like the iOS setup. It is concise and accessible to anyone who wants to develop for it, which has really changed handheld development. We will definitely be working more on this platform.” Read the full interview at 148Apps. $2.99 $4.99 Released: 2011-10-12 :: Category: Games Meanwhile, over at GiggleApps, reviewer Amy Solomon took a closer look at another open-ended and creative game, but this time for children. By Rob LeFebvre on October 21st, 2011 5th Cell Creative Director Jeremiah Slaczka talks to 148Apps about the new iOS game Scribblenauts Remix. We had the opportunity to do a quick email interview with Jeremiah Slaczka, Creative Director for 5th Cell, developer of the Scribblenauts franchise. Recently released to iOS, Scribblenauts Remix is the latest in a line of highly regarded games, first released on the Nintendo DS in September of 2009. We covered the game extensively at The Portable Gamer, so were really excited to see an iOS version, which comes in as a $4.99 Universal app (as opposed to the DS game, originally released at a $29.99 price point). While Slaczka was not able to comment on the pricing difference or strategy, he was able to answer a few of our more general questions. We noticed that Remix seems to contain levels from both the original Scribblenauts game as Read More
Disponible: App Store Precio: 3,99€ Read More

After all that, we dig into the latest and greatest games, chat a bit about the big news of the week and finish up with your user questions. Games for the weekend: Scribblenauts Remix
Calendar16 Fri, 14 Oct 2011 21:16:53 UTC +00:00
Games for the Weekend is a weekly feature aimed at helping you avoid doing something constructive with your downtime. Each Friday we’ll be recommending a game for Mac, iPhone or iPad that we think is awesome enough to keep you busy until Monday, at least. This week we bring you the first game I’ve seen that takes full advantage of what iOS 5 and iCloud can mean for gaming: ($4.99). In addition to being a fun puzzle game, Scribblenauts  also takes full advantage of iCloud by syncing saved games across iOS devices. The goal of Scribblenauts Remix is to help Maxwell get Starites on each level. You help him by creating objects he can use to interact with his environment. Creating objects is achieved by writing them out. For instance, to get the Starite on the first level I wrote “hammer,” providing the main character with one he could use to Read More
Daily iPhone App: Scribblenauts Remix
Calendar16 Thu, 13 Oct 2011 13:00:00 UTC +00:00
I remember hearing way, way back that Scribblenauts might be headed to iOS, but when the dust finally settled on the iOS 5 transition yesterday, among the (many -- we'll see more in the next few days) great new releases on the App Store, this one definitely stood out. Warner Brothers and original developers 5th Cell have brought the legendary DS game over to iOS, and the port is just plain excellent. Scribblenauts is a magical game. The idea is that you control Maxwell through a series of challenge levels, and in each one he's got to do whatever's necessary to earn a Starite. You accomplish the goals you're given by using one of the most fascinating mechanics in gaming lately: You simply type in whatever you want to show up in the game, and then it does. If that sounds impossible, then believe the impossible, because that's what Scribblenauts is Read More

Überraschung an allen Fronten sozusagen. There are those who will pick up Scribblenauts and love it completely. However, Read More

Whenever anybody brings up the question "what game would you love to see on iOS?", it's almost always a guarantee that somebody will bring up developer 5thCell's Scribblenauts series, which has led a fairly successful life on the Nintendo DS platform since 2009. The gameplay hook of typing in words to create objects in the game world, which then help you solve the puzzles in the game, is a hallmark of the Scribblenauts series and would be a perfect fit for iOS devices. Well, Scribblenauts enthusiasts, your time has come as 5thCell and Warner Bros. Interactive along with Iron Galaxy Studios have just released Scribblenauts Remix [$4.99] into the US App Store. Scribblenauts Remix is sort of a "best of" version of the previous titles in the series, developed specifically for the iOS touch screen. There are 40 levels taken from both the original Scribblenauts and its sequel Super Scribblenauts, as Read More
When it comes to mobile gaming, I tend to play strictly on my iOS & Android devices mainly because I’m always carrying one or the other on me. To carry around a Nintendo DS or PSP would mean that I’d promise to dedicate some time during my trip to sit down and play games. It’s a shame though because there are a number of great titles on both the Nintendo DS and PSP that I would love to dedicate my time to. Thankfully, one of my favorite Nintendo DS games has officially made the jump to iOS and I couldn’t be more thrilled by the news. The concept of Scribblenauts is simple: You play as Scribblenauts’ hero Maxwell as he tries to complete a number of puzzles to collect “Starites” by using the power of the player’s imagination. The game’s main selling factor is the player can pop nearly anything into Read More
