SCVNGR, the location based Android and iPhone app has been updated to version 3.5, code-named “Vulcan.” This updated version of the game will feature better functionality, not to mention a better, well, everything. SCVNGR 3.5 now offers five new features including a better dashboard, Activity Stream 2.0, Social Maps, commenting and rewards. Most notably revamped is the way the dashboard and the Friend Feed are arranged. The dashboard is rearranged to group various functions into what they are calling “buckets.” These buckets include the Friend Feed, Places, Settings, and other functions. The Friend Feed itself features all the usual activities, but they are now sectioned off into their own groups. Even the Friend Feed functions are now grouped together differently and include the check-in function, challenge function, and photos. Take this crap off my phone,IM never honing to play it,update it, or anything. Sick of seeing it when its not being used,waste of space.

The app would be fun and useful but none of the places I go seem to have any treks or rewards for checking in so it kind of makes it a lost cause. I can check in at a bunch of places but Facebook does the same thing.

The fact you can't uninstall it has nothing to do with the developer of the app. It's your carrier that loaded it on your phone. If you want to throw a tantrum, then head down to your carrier, or just switch carriers.
