Dear Shazam: Thanks for wasting our time with a completely useless piece of software. This app does literally two things: Draw a setup button, and popup a "Could not establish a connection" dialog when you hit the setup button. Click "Close", rinse, repeat. A quick Google search confirms that this has been the case for at least three months, with no fix. This app simply doesn't work on Honeycomb tablets. My guess is it's trying to connect via 3G. Hello, Shazam? Ever heard of wifi? Removing this joke now.

Dear Shazam: Thanks for wasting our time with a completely useless piece of software. This app does literally two things: Draw a setup button, and popup a "Could not establish a connection" dialog when you hit the setup button. Click "Close", rinse, repeat. A quick Google search confirms that this has been the case for at least three months, with no fix. This app simply doesn't work on Honeycomb tablets. My guess is it's trying to connect via 3G. Hello, Shazam? Ever heard of wifi? Removing this joke now.

I was amazed that an app like this existed! It is awesome. You play a song and it finds it for you. You can only play about 20 seconds and it does not always find the song for you. It also sometimes gives you incorrect info. Most of the time it works though, and it pretty fast. It also gives you the option to share, buy the song, watch on YouTube, play in Spotify, find tour info, display recommendations, shows discography, listen in Pandora, and sometimes the lyrics!

My boyfriend has extremely weird taste when it comes to music. He played about 50 songs. It found 46 of them. Stuff that no ones really even heard of. It worked for classical, pop, rap, pretty much everything. Even some electronic and rave type stuff. This is the coolest thing. Just wish it would work for humming as well.

Yea I can tag the basic top songs on the radio, but during dj mixes and such, it doesnt state whose remix of a song it is anymore and it doesnt detect alot of the songs it used to. The previous version was better.

Just upgraded my Transformer Prime to Android 4.0.3. When launching Shazam, it fails to pick-up any sound and all other apps which use microphone (Skype, Google Voice search...etc..) also stop working. Seems Shazam crashes microphone drivers / restart is required to get microphone working again. When Shazam worked (prior to upgrade) its great..! Pleasseee fix this for 4.0.3/Transformer Prime. Edit: Microphone works OK for all other apps. It is only when launching Shazam to identify music that it breaks the microphone and all other apps stop working thereafter (and reboot is then required).

Update: Customer support has clarified their permissions to me and said they are not collecting any call info other than details related to customer support calls, so i am giving it my previous rating. Still cant believe how quick and easy it is to use. A possible future feature that I would find very useful is letting shazam listen to your music on your phone and then applying the id3 tags automatically to the song files, so you can get the title, album, artwork and artist info for all your music with no hassle. This would make organising music A LOT easier! :-)

It works 90% of the time but almost all of the features require $. Also, after 10 tags within an hour or so, an official notice pops up " we were unable to tag music" You get 2 more stars if you fix that or ooenly declare a limit as opossed to lieing about "unlimited" tags. It works as advertised, quick, accurate, and efficient. I would like to see it support a larger library and offer more support to music listeners with less mainstream tastes. Update 4/18: Changed from 4 to 5 stars. Shazam gives me the ability to do something that I could not, or was very difficult, to do before. Before Shazam, it was extremely difficult to track down a song after hearing a few bars on an obscure college radio show. Now, it is effortless in most cases.

I find this very useful. I like how it can identify songs rather quickly and how it gives you extra features and info, such as lyrics, album information and discography. No it wasn't perfect. For example, some songs it failed to identify and others it didn't work the first time, but did the second. From my experiments, I would recommend identifying during vocals. There were also ads, but I wouldn't pay for an app like this.

I've had this app for a while now. First on Droid, now on Droid 4. It works very well -- in the car or in a bar. I DJ for Ballroom and Latin and use it to remember new tunes when we are out and about. The only times that it does not tag is when the DJ has manipulated the track, usually changing the tempo. I primarily want it to ID and remember the songs which it does very, very well. It would be nice to be able to insert a few notes of my own with each song, e.g. "Waltz," "Samba," etc. Now if it would also catalog my CD's and all of their info, this would be my ultimate music organizer.

I love this app. It doesn't freeze, force close, or any of that other annoying stuff, finds about 98% of songs, music doesn't have to be loud for it to do it's job and tha room doesn't have to be quiet!!!! you wanna sing along cuz tha words usually pop up on tha screen. There is a place that stores all of your songs, you can always go back and look. Your phone doesn't have good service? No problem!!!! You can tag you song and send it later! Love this app!! Tha only thing is I can't find many gospel songs.

This app is great for finding music. I normally don't use it for English songs because I can just type in lyrics and fond it. It's great because I can use it for Korean, Japanese, German, Spanish etc music! It's not limited to just English nor to the Arabic alphabet. Its success rate for Korean and Japanese songs though is Ok at best. 80% success rate. But even so, 80% is better than never finding it.

It's a really cool program and helps me a lot. However I just found a bug: had 5 unsubmitted tags (no inet connection) and after I resent the most recent of them the system detected the remaining ones as the same song :(

SHAZAM is THE problem solver for me. I often begin liking a song with knowing only a few of the words. With Shazam, I can simply put my phone up the speaker in the truck and find out right then the song name artist and in some cases lyrics too. MY FAVORITE app for my Android!
