Siege Hero Puts Some Serious Fun Into Physics
Calendar16 Fri, 06 Jan 2012 05:54:33 UTC +00:00
Many of us have spent countless hours flinging birds at buildings trying to kill pigs, and plenty of developers have attempted to create a game as addicting as Angry Birds, but almost all have failed. truly stands out in a crowd of games with similarities to the ever-popular Angry Birds by making the gameplay unique but still nicely familiar. Siege Hero is based off of a popular iOS app and Flash physics puzzle game which involves throwing some sort of projectile at structures to kill the evil armies inside. When you touch your finger to the area you want to destroy, a rock or some other destructive item, gets chucked at the tower-like structures. Your goal is to annihilate all the bad guys with as few strategic throws as possible. Instead of using a slingshot to catapult birds, Siege Hero uses a first person view as you toss rocks and Read More

Siege Hero is an action puzzler game for the iPhone and iPod touch. If These Heroes Seem Tall it is Because They Stand on the Shoulders of Angry Birds. Siege Hero is a lot like Angry Birds, except the view is changed to first-person and the characters are less adorable. In my opinion that’s already more than you need to know (they’re really only slightly less adorable), but nobody respects a sentence long review so if that seems a little oversimplified I’ll gladly elaborate. Now before some of you more tempered iOS users go off and start correcting me let me assure you that I am well aware of Siege Hero’s predecessor Crush The Castle, which Angry Birds borrowed many elements from, but nowadays the avian students have become the angry masters. In turn Siege Hero has managed to take more than a few pages out of Birds’ book while still Read More
Yo de Read More

This is Angry Birds, no doubt about it: In Siege Hero, you're throwing rocks at fortresses built precariously out of surprisingly breakable materials, and trying to crush a series of pigs soldiers for points and ratings. Odds are that you know this gameplay works already -- just one glance at the picture above should tell you what you need to do. But wait, the twist here is that rather than a sideways view of the action, you're shooting at the fortress from head on. And honestly, that's enough to bring you back to this style of gameplay, even if you've already beaten the crap out of Angry Birds (or, like me, get you to take another look at it, if the unhappy avians didn't sell you on it the last time around). Coming from a first-person angle means you've got a little more precision to your hits, which means it's more Read More
Siege Hero updated with Age of Discovery, 75 new levels
Calendar16 Thu, 28 Jul 2011 20:45:46 UTC +00:00
By Leanna Lofte, Thursday, Jul 28, 2011 | Armor Games have updated their iPhone and iPad game, Siege Hero. Tap the screen to fire. Find the weak spots. Loot the treasures. Save the innocent villagers. Tear down the 150 castles across two Ages. If you’re good enough to earn Gold on each castle you’ll unlock the extra looting levels in the Treasure Map. Over 5-hours of gameplay with much more to come. The update includes: I’ve played some of the first few levels of Siege Hero and I’ll definitely be playing some more. It reminds me a little of Angry Birds, but instead of catapulting birds in the 3rd person, I’m throwing weapons in the first person. It’s fun! Siege Hero is available for $0.99 on the iPhone and $3.99 on the iPad. Screenshots after the break. Have an app you’d love to see featured on TiPb? Email us at iosapps@tipb.com, Read More
Predecessor to Angry Birds Gets a Sequel, Siege Hero
Calendar16 Mon, 16 May 2011 19:35:43 UTC +00:00
Posted 05/16/2011 at 11:35am | by Andrew Groen Long before the Angry Birds became the undisputed kings/queens of the App Store there was another physics launching game that was tearing up the charts. Crush the Castle became a quiet hit, racking up more than a million and a half downloads. Now the game's developer, Armor Games, is back with a spiritual successor to Crush the Castle to take back the throne it once held. While Crush the Castle looked quite a bit like Angry Birds (a trebuchet launched rocks at a 2D castle with enemies inside) the new game, dubbed Siege Hero, opts for a change of perspective to set it apart from the Rovio developed juggernaut. Rather than aiming the rocks at the castle you simply tap where you want to hit it and it does so automatically. It might sound a little bit more boring than physically launching the Read More
Siege Hero Review

iPhone App $0.99 Our Review By Timothy Smith on May 13th, 2011 Rating: :: PUZZLE SMASH The pioneers of the fling and smash genre have something fresh on their hands, but can it best the staunch competition? Developer: Price: $0.99 Version: 1.0.19 App Reviewed on: iPad Graphics / Sound Rating: User Interface Rating: Gameplay Rating: Re-use / Replay Value Rating: Overall Rating: The developers of Siege Hero, Armor Games, originally created a little game called Crush the Castle. It was a fun game, but it became obscured by the unsuspected success of Angry Birds. That certainly didn’t dampen their spirits, though, because now they’re back with something similar, but with enough of a spin to make it an entirely new experience. Their latest title equips players with rocks and other projectiles in a conquest to destroy any and all standing structures. The game currently has 63 levels laid out over three Read More

Angry...Vikings?
Djflippy 4.0 stars Version: 1.0.19
Picture Angry Birds, but instead of firing laterally, you fire directly "into" the screen (although the original apparently pre-dates Angry Birds). This means there is very little scrolling and very little down-time, as a byproduct. The designers cleverly sidestep the potential issue of your thumb obscuring the view, by including a zoom mode that displays a sniper-style target, offset from the main view. The gameplay will be familiar, in a good way, in that you need to target particular areas of a structure, in order to topple it. The goal and win condition is to crush the vikings that inhabit the structure, but you'll score additional points by keeping the princesses alive and having leftover ammunition.Ammunition consists of single rocks, triple rocks, bombs, molotov cocktails, oil barrels, and triple bombs. Using these weapons in the proper order, at the most viable targets, is the way to score well. Tapping launches a normal shot, while press and hold triggers the zoom mode. There are 63 levels in Fortress Mode, 10 levels in Treasure Mode (levels unlock when you reach predefined star tiers), and an unknown number of levels in a future update to include the Age of Discovery Mode. Full Leaderboard and Achievement support is included, via Game Center. The requisite level of polish and presentation is there, as with all Armor Games. It doesn't take very long to play through the core 63 levels, but it's worth the price of admission, as-is, and there is more content on the way. Recommended.
Great

Okay I know everyone compares stuff to angry birds so I will try to avoid. The idea is very similar but instead of throwing across the screen from left to right it's like throwing into the screen like a first person shooter. The game runs well and has a very polished feel to it. This game will end up on the top 25 chart soon.
Better than angry birds!
