Although I expected alot more from this app, the result is pretty good. Even though you are just strolling along the hallways of the abandoned hospital, it still finds a way to make you shiver. The controls take a few plays to get used to, but eventually, you can master them with ease. The only problem I have with this game is... Killer wheelchairs? Really?

I've purchased this game right after it was released on the iPhone. My first impression was dissapointment, I wanted it to be like the playstation games; solving puzzles, killing enemies, and an interesting story. So I only played it a few times and moved on. Cut to a few weeks later I gave it another play through. The further you progress, the more enemies there are such as Pyramid Head which was nice. The ending to level 10 was awesome, harkens back to Alien abduction, loved it. I thought that was the end of the game but I just unlocked a new mode, now I'm playing as a Alien, different weapon and layouts. I like it. I'm glad I gave this game another shot.

The first thing that you'll probably notice about silent hill the escape is that it looks really good. The environments and enemies are extremley detailed and the game has a very disturbing, creepy vibe to it. The sound design is also quite good, just like in previous silent hill games you carry a radio which emits a large amount of static whenever you are close to an enemy plus the creepy sounds of the enemies footsteps really help to frighten you during your gaming experience. The thing that I was most sceptacle about the game before I played it was the controls but contrary to my previous thoughts the game does control fairly well. You move by sliding your finger on the touch screen which I had very little trouble with while playing. You shoot with the accelorometer which I had close to no trouble with at all during my playtime. The final thing that you should know before you purchase the game is that it's pretty darn scary. If you play in a dark room with your headphones in then I can pretty much garuntee that you'll be freaked out. Overall this is a very good app and one that any horror fan should look into purchasing

The game is great and scary, but there isn't really much to it. The game would be perfect with maybe a puzzle or two like the console games. Definitely play in the dark and quiet. Can't wait til metal gear solid touch comes out!

Its fun, scary, good graphics for the iPod touch, good controls, overall it's worth it, I'm so happy I tried this game out...it's kind of addicting

This game is awesome. I was a little worried about this game being hard to control, but it really isn't. Overall this game is great, although, I do wonder why wheel chairs are trying to kill me. If you have 8 dollars and you don't know what to spend it on, I suggest that you spend it on this great game. ( it is much better if you play it in a dark and quiet room)

Great game but the controls need alot of work!

I've seen really nasty comments that there are only 8 mazes. People! I've beat most of the game. There are 30 levels to play through. There's like ten after you beat it but it a different creature. There might be more but I haven't beaten level 29. Are you serious? I play as a dog. It takes it to a whole new sissy lvl. My sister thought playing as a dog was cute and I was infuriated!!! What I don't like this games is that it really isn't a silent hill gameplay. Sounds and monsters are like them but the maze was just tiring. Also it lacks a good story line (although the one after lvl 10 was pretty like the silent hill endings, I ain't spoiling it). And mostly, the wheelchair did not freak me out at all. I actually laughed the whole time it tried to follow me! Not too impressed by silent hill's name, but it was the first game to give me chills. Well not anymore.

Well I understand iphone/ipod touch have limitation and a major console game will be hard to devolope. But this is a very noble try. The reson I am compelling to give it five star is not the graphics or game play which are great. But the fact that you can play the entire game by using ONE thumb is awasome. I mean come'on guys you don't have to hold your device sideways and use both hands. You can play this great game easily by holding the iphone/touch in one hand and using only the thumb. At work my boss thinks I am just checking my important e-mails on the phone, he has no clue

This is a must buy game for the iPod touch or iphone.

SCARY SCARY SCARY! I GOT SO FREAKED OUT FROM ONE OF THOSE NURSES ON STAGE TWO. ITS SCARY, KNOW THAT. its actually really good. even if everybody complains about controls, they aren't that bad. its a good game. an update will be need though with more levels (as i hear there is only 10). i think that it has the ability to be played many times though. GOOD GAME!

Great game with intense action and scary missions to keep you on your toes. Excellent A+ Graphics! And easy controls to keep you moving through the game. Worth the $8. Don't hesitate, purchase this game for great satisfaction.

This is a good game, although repetitive at times. The graphics are great. Only problem is that it makes the same mistake that Dementium did, the 5 feet of light, and then its just all dark. Other than that, it's worth 8 bucks

Extremly impressed at this game, feels like a console version would and like the psp version except this one has excellent controls and is really detailed and fun scary horror survival. Lots of fun definit buy!!! Can't wait for Metal Gear Solid Touch from Konami!!!

I have been a long time Silent Hill fan and when I saw this I had some doubts. But when I played it, I loved it! Playing in the dark is a must for this, even in the day it's a bit surprising. I wish you would make it more Silent Hill like though. Maybe add puzzles, some more monsters from the Silent Hill games, maybe even more weapons and larger areas to explore, finding key items and such. This game I say has great potential.

Actually frightning!i was so scared...till I saw the evil killer wheel chairs...and started laughing...completely took me out of the immersion of the game.loses a star for that.make a update that gets rid of them! But still reallly really scary!!!!!!!buy it!it's like the only scary app availible!but where's the custamary silent hill fog?

This is one of the best game i played so far. Need more levels and monsters. It would be nice if there is different weapons to choose from. But overall is very well done. To those who think that this game is lame, try to play this at night and turn the volume up.

Doom-era graphics. Find your way through a maze, avoid nurses and wheelchairs. Done.

This game is simply a joke. The game consists of about 8 levels of mazes that you aimlessly wander killing a set number of monsters using a set number of bullets until you find the one key on every level that unlocks the door to the next level. This is a 3D Pacman game where you move forwards, backwards, or turn left or right. You shoot a gun that you cannot find more bullets for and for which you always get 20 of at the start of each level. Yes, the good old staticy radio is back, along with some rusty looking walls, but this is not a real game in any respect, this is really the definition of "shovel-ware" that iPhone users evidently don't mind shelling out an outrageous amount of money for (i.e. anything more than one dollar). There is no story, not even one puzzle, no other characters, and some ridiculous monsters (hello, killer wheelchair?). The monsters are uniformly slow, do not chase you, and even if they randomly follow you, you can easily avoid them. The only thing that keeps you from finishing each level in less than 2 minutes is the presence of a useless map that provides absolutely no guidance and seems to exist only to prolong the aimless maze wandering. Given the bleak economic situation in this country, Konami should be ashamed to even sell this crap-ware onto unwitting consumers. AVOID!!
