Homescreens – Oktober 2011 (iPhone + iPad)
Calendar16 Mon, 17 Oct 2011 09:09:11 UTC +00:00
Außerdem verstecken sich in Read More
Must Have iPad Applications #1-5
Calendar16 Sun, 11 Sep 2011 13:00:16 UTC +00:00
If you have recently bought a new iPad I have some “must have” apps you should start out with. Of course, some apps you may wonder why they are so “must have” and argue that you don’t need them. Ok, you just might not. This is my list and there may be more that you would suggest (please do so in the comments). This is the first 5 and I will post more in chunks of 5 in the future. For what it’s worth, here’s my list: This is the app, next to Google, that will teach you pretty much anything. Wikipedia is very accurate and way more up to date than the Encyclopedia you have on your book shelf. There are things that may contain errors but it’s just as accurate as a traditional Encyclopedia. Here’s a article and links to studies on it. Anyway, I like it and it’s Read More
These Are A Few Of My Favorite…. Apps (iPad)
Calendar16 Wed, 13 Jul 2011 17:46:18 UTC +00:00
A friend just picked up a shiny new iPad and asked me for my app recommendations.   Obviously, we get similar questions often, so I drew up a list of the apps that I use often that most any iPad user might consider. Wundermap: Appshopper: Find new, free, and price-reduced apps.    Pulse:  Innovative news/RSS reader.     Flipboard:  An alternative to Pulse.       Wikibot:  Wikipedia reader with read-ahead, etc.        Noteability:  Take notes with optional linked audio recording.       Simplenote:  Simple text note-taker with sync to other devices and the Web.       Goodreader:  Sync and view documents and other media.       eFax:  Send/receive faxes.       neu.Annotate:  Annotate/sign PDFs.           ABC Player:  Watch full episodes of ABC shows.       IMDB:  Access the Internet Movie Database.      iMyAddress:  Use GPS to find the nearest street address.   Got any other suggestions?  Leave them in the comments below. Best iPhone and iPad Note-Taking Apps for Writers
Calendar16 Thu, 16 Jun 2011 17:35:30 UTC +00:00
There was a time when writers carried a notepad and pen with them, or left one on the nightstand for noting those midnight ideas.  Instead of carrying these two items around, the smartphone has become the modern day equivalent.  The standard iOS Notes app does for making very quick notes, but there are better apps out there if you’d like something a little more stylish and with a lot more functionality. Here are ten apps to help writers keep track of story ideas, character arcs, jokes or article headlines while out and about with their iPhone or iPad.  Instead of bundling in the old favorites – doesn’t everyone know that Evernote and Awesome Note are good by now? – we’ve gathered together some you may not have heard of before. Specifically for the iPad, Notes Plus lets you write your notes on the screen using your finger, plus annotate them with Read More
Developer Spotlight: Lin Jinjie, maker of Due
Calendar16 Mon, 30 May 2011 16:07:41 UTC +00:00
By Rene Ritchie, Monday, May 30, 2011 | TiPb’s developer spotlights are like DVD/iTunes Extras for the App Store — a weekly look behind the scenes at the programers and designers that bring you the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad apps and games you love. This week Rene talks with Lin Junjie. What’s your name Lin Junjie. It’s a Chinese name, so Lin is the last name and Junjie is my given name. Also happens to be exactly the same as a popular Chinese pop singer, so I get quite a number of wrongly directed tweets from his fan girls or people telling the whole world what song they’re listening to. What’s your company’s name? Phocus LLP, and its main business here in Singapore is photography (explained later). Where are you based? I’m based in Singapore, a really tiny island on the equator where the only seasons are rainy or sunny. Read More
Wither iPad? A Testimonial On Its Usefulness
Calendar16 Tue, 08 Mar 2011 17:45:00 UTC +00:00
(image source: Apple, Inc) With the release of the iPad 2, there has been a lot of commentary on the overall usefulness of the iPad. Even amongst the iSource staff, there is some debate as to whether or not the iPad is a truly useful device, or merely an expensive toy. Here’s my take. When the iPad was announced a year ago, I had no plans at all to buy it. Like many others, I concluded that it was little more than a large iPod Touch; and I simply didn’t see a need for one, especially considering that I had a perfectly usable iPhone. When my friend Mike got one, I played around with it a bit; but ultimately, I came to the same conclusion – a big iPod. Much later, when I started traveling for work again, I finally realized how useful the iPad could be and decided to take Read More
Favorite 4 – Note Taking Apps
Calendar16 Wed, 02 Mar 2011 18:30:46 UTC +00:00
By Chris Hall on March 2nd, 2011 Favorite 4 note taking apps. Simpler than Simplenote. – Simplenote, for one reason or another, is always a crowd favorite for simple note taking. Ridding itself of all the bells and whistles, Simplenote does a great job of creating searchable lists very quickly, with an added bonus of having instant syncing between your notes on your device and the internet. Also exciting is that Simplenote syncs with a few different desktop apps, which allows users to pick and choose the desktop interface they like best. Some people will be turned off by the lack of an official desktop app, but the WinAmp generation of PC’s past will appreciate the option to choose something different. There are limitations to Simplenote that users should be aware of, though. Unlike the rest of the feature-packed note apps, Simplenote doesn’t allow drawing or images of any kind. No Read More
Most iPhone text editors support only plain text (an iOS limitation, I believe), which makes it a real pain in the app to create useful little formatting tools, such as the bullet points above. However, many of the iPhone’s plain text editors do support a nifty little app called TextExpander ($4.99), which is a utility for setting up quick text macros. TextExpander can’t run in the background like Pastebot does, but it is integrated into many apps (Notesy, Simplenote, etc.) so that it feels like a background process. This means you can type out “tyvm” and have the TextExpander instantly replace it with “thank you very much”. I don’t tend to use many of these little shortcuts because I’m still getting used to how to use the app , but one great little use case is the one I’ve shown in the screenshot above. Here’s what the case-sensitive “Qq” macro I’m using Read More

Homescreens – Dezember 2010 (iPhone + iPad)
Calendar16 Sat, 11 Dec 2010 10:35:56 UTC +00:00
Außerdem verstecken sich innerhalb der Ordner folgende Apps*: Amazon.de (kostenlos; App Store-Link), Convertbot (1.59 €; App Store-Link), AnalyticsPro (5.49 €; App Store-Link), Delivery Status touch (3.99 €; universal; App Store-Link), Dropbox (kostenlos; universal; App Store-Link), iCabMobile (1.59 €; universal; App Store-Link), Skype (kostenlos; App Store-Link), WeatherPro (2.99 €; App Store-Link), Pastebot (2.99 €; App Store-Link), LogMeIn (23.99 €; universal; App Store-Link), OffMaps (1.59 €; universal; App Store-Link), Kik (kostenlos; App Store-Link), PayPal (kostenlos; App Store-Link), Linkie (0.79 Read More

TiPb Picks of the Week
Calendar16 Sat, 13 Nov 2010 19:51:46 UTC +00:00
By Leanna Lofte, Saturday, Nov 13, 2010 | Every week a few of us from team TiPb will bring you our current favorite, funnest, most useful App Store apps, WebApps, jailbreak apps, even the occasional accessory, web site, or desktop app if the mood strikes us. As long as they’re iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch related, they’re fair game. To see what we picked this week, and to tell us your pick, follow on after the break! Easily one of my most used apps, TV Forecast has a place of honor on my home screen. A very simple app, you add your favorite shows, and it lets you know when they’re coming on. In addition to telling you the day and time, TV Forecast gives you a synopsis of the episode and even information on past episodes. I especially like it since I never know when shows will come back from Read More
NaNoWriMo Writing Tools for the iPad
Calendar16 Fri, 29 Oct 2010 23:00:16 UTC +00:00
National Novel Writing Month, or, National Stop Procrastinating and Write Month, is soon upon us. This year marks the first time the iPad is available during the prose-fest. Writing tools are near and dear to my heart, because the time spent researching and writing about said tools is a fantastic way to avoid actually writing my fiction. With that in mind, I’m going to take a look at writing tools I’ve found that are suited for NaNo. I’ve laid down a few criteria. To be considered, an app must easily sync or transfer natively with a cloud service (I’m assuming you’re going to be doing the bulk of your writing at home, and the iPad is the “writing at lunch” option). Since the goal for NaNo is to churn out 50,000 words, the app should have a word count feature, although there are two notable exceptions to this rule that made Read More

MobileDL uses Simplenote to download files to your Mac
Calendar16 Wed, 09 Jun 2010 02:00:00 UTC +00:00
If you've ever been on your iPhone and wished you could save a file to your Mac, your wish just came true thanks to Scott Jackson and MobileDL. Saving files to your Mac from your iPhone/iPad is now as easy as copying the URL and pasting it into Simplenote iPhone/iPad app (free) or a Simplenote web account (also free). MobileDL runs on your Mac's menu bar and periodically (default is every 10 minutes) checks a note in your Simplenote account called "MobileDL Downloads" and downloads any file listed there. If the note isn't there, MobileDL automatically creates it for you. One URL per line of any kind of file: ".mp4, .mov, .mp3, .zip, .dmg, .app, .pdf, if it's a file on the web, MobileDL can download it." Even HD YouTube videos are supported. There is a short screencast available which shows how it works. I went into MobileDL's "Advanced" preferences and Read More
Although, technically, all changes to a note-taking app can be described as “notable”, there’s really only one that I think is worth mentioning. Launching the free Simplenote app will now start a sync regardless of whether you’re inside a note or on the list view screen. It took me quite a while to notice this bug, but it eventually dawned on me when I realized all of the little drafts I’d written up on my iPhone simply weren’t syncing on my MacBook until after I had closed the notes within Simplenote. So what does all of that really mean? It means you can use Simplenote now like it was meant to work. Take notes, and don’t even worry about the syncing. Read More
iPad 3G Review: Three Days in Paris With the iPad
Calendar16 Tue, 11 May 2010 13:25:38 UTC +00:00
Here’s the plan – I have a quick business trip planned to Paris for just 3 days and 2 nights – can I get by, me, a HEAVY computer user, for that time with just an iPad? What equipment do I need to do so? What things won’t I be able to do? Sounds like a pretty good test of the functionality of the device and a great way to review the 3G iPad for travel use on a business trip. Let’s set up the testing process. The equipment I have with is the iPad 3G, an external battery to make sure I’m covered for the long flights, the Apple Bluetooth keyboard, a case and a bag. For back up, I have my Macbook, and my iPhone. Thats a lot of Apple devices in one bag. I hope I don’t have problems with security. iPad 3G The iPad 3G gives me Read More

5 iPhone Apps to Boost Productivity
Calendar16 Tue, 27 Apr 2010 21:36:47 UTC +00:00
This post originally appeared on the American Express OPEN Forum, where Mashable regularly contributes articles about leveraging social media and technology in small business. According to a new report from RingCentral, 34% of small business users surveyed said that they use their smartphone more than their computer to conduct business. That may sound crazy, but think about it — a high-end smartphone is about as powerful as a desktop or laptop computer that many of us had in our offices about six or seven years ago. Plus, a smartphone brings instant access to the Internet no matter where you are. However, thanks to the iPhone and the rise of app stores, it’s mobile applications that can really help turn a smartphone into a workstation on the go. Last month, I wrote about 14 terrific iPhone apps for small business users. However, with more than 185,000 apps in the iTunes App Store, Read More
Simplenote is back, and it’s better than ever. I was taking a little break from the app while I tried out the latest version of Awesome Note (great, but syncing is far too slow). Version 2.6 has a lot of under-the-hood changes (see the above screenshot), but the one I want to talk about is the change to the search feature. Ahem. WOOHOO! Instead of executing searches for exact phrases (Cat in the Hat), Simplenote can now find things with substrings (Cat Hat). This makes a big difference with regards to the accuracy of search results, especially with the MacGyver tags I add to all my notes. Simplenote doesn’t yet support actual metatags, so I’ve taken to using dashes and keywords to tag all of my own notes as I create them (more info here). I could only search for a tag or a note content in older versions of Simplenote, Read More
Appular: From marketing/PR company to iPhone app publisher
Calendar16 Fri, 12 Mar 2010 10:43:03 UTC +00:00
Appular, which is a marketing and PR firm specialized in promoting iPhone titles, is taking the “publisher route.” What this means is that in some cases — when they like the application/game — they may act as a publisher and share the revenue generated from the app sales with the developer. As a result, their initial fees will be waived. To help with this plan, they brought former Freeverse CFO, Dino Decespedes, as their new Director of Publishing, on the heels of ngmoco’s purchase of Freeverse. Initially, he will be working with select developers by implementing proper business and marketing strategies, to go along with their app and game concepts. In case you wonder, Appular helped promote such iPhone apps as NPR News, Finger Physics, Simplenote, Flick Fishing, and many more. And now they are interesting in hearing from developers with upcoming apps and games, and will evaluate possible partnerships on Read More

The iPhone app showdown
Calendar16 Thu, 21 Jan 2010 02:00:00 UTC +00:00
This was an intriguing experiment undertaken over at Minimal Mac: Patrick decided to play a little Homescreen Survivor with his iPhone app icons -- he cleared everything off his homescreen, and then only let those apps back on which he used more than once throughout the course of a week. The result? You can see here which ones made it back on. Contacts, Calendar, Camera all showed up, not surprisingly. Photos did as well -- I don't use that one much, but I can see why. Everything else seems to be his own personal use: Tumblr's app, two different Twitter apps (Birdhouse and Tweetie), and then Simplenote and so on. But the real point here isn't what apps he used, it's just how different his homescreen looked when he only put what he used on there. I'll admit it: my iPhone is a mess -- I've got icons all over the Read More
Synotes Syncs Your Notes To The Web, Looks Good Too
Calendar16 Tue, 19 Jan 2010 01:26:28 UTC +00:00
Last week Syncode released a beautiful, cloud-based notes application called Synotes [App Store, $1.99]. The app lets you take and store notes which are then synced to the cloud, making them available from any web browser. You can optionally provide titles and icons for your notes to easily distinguish between different notes. Search is also provided within the app and online. Synotes also looks really good. If you’re familiar with SimpleNote [App Store, Free], Synotes is essentially the same thing with extra shiny. It’s $1.99 in the App Store and definitely worth a try if you’re looking for a classy, cloud-based notes app. Categories: News  Tags: relief.com Read More
version 1.0 There are more and more good-looking iPhone apps coming out, and that’s certainly not a complaint. I think it’s actually one of the major advantages of the platform (really sexy apps!), but as more and more of these gorgeous designs hit the App Store, it becomes even more important to have a solid, functional UI underneath all the gloss. Synotes from Syncode is a shiny new note app that feels very much like a version 1.0. It features a good-looking interface and free, automatic-syncing with the online Synotes web app. Unfortunately, Synotes still has a bit of catching up to do when it comes to the basics, and it pales in comparison to other similar offerings such as Evernote and Simplenote. List View There are basically two screens you’ll be using in Synotes, the first of which is the list view. This shows all of your notes in the Read More

While the various news outlets of the web may have gotten readers a bit too ecstatic when hyping out the iPhone 5, truth is, there was no iPhone 5 come Apple’s annual press conference. One source says that next year’s iPhone, unofficially and presumably dubbed iPhone 5, will be a It seems that Apple decided to go ahead and give the go to iOS 5.0.1 earlier than we had initially thought. With well over 100,000 apps in the iPhone App Store now, it ‘s pretty rare to find that ‘there ‘s not an app for that ‘ when you think of things you need to do on the iPhone, or even in life in general.  It is common though to find many apps that offer to do the same thing, and to struggle to find the one or ones that work best for you and your own habits and preferences. Note-taking is an area where I think there are a number of good apps around “ but it ‘s also one where I have several that I have used but where I still haven ‘t found a good ‘groove ‘, a routine workflow that feels like an ideal way to do things. Three of the apps that I ‘ve spent quite a lot of time with are shown in the icons at Read More
Elegant simplicity: the power of SimpleNote for iPhone
Calendar16 Tue, 22 Dec 2009 00:00:00 UTC +00:00
The iPhone and iPod touch are, in many ways, the replacement for the little spiral-bound notepad that some of us used to carry around to capture reminders and ideas. The build-in Notes application works as a nice notepad, but it doesn't allow sorting of lists, and syncing to your Mac via MobileMe and Mail can be problematic. I've tried a handful of other notepad apps, but none of them have provided the simplicity of Notes with the power of cloud syncing. SimpleNote [US$1.99, iTunes Link] is an inexpensive app that is a worthy replacement for Notes. Launching the app, you're greeted with a very simple user interface into which you can type your notes. There's nothing new and different there, of course. Opening the options for the app indicates that you can set up a free account for the online web app and turn on web syncing. It's the ability to Read More

3 Hidden Gems You Have To Pay For
Calendar16 Thu, 27 Aug 2009 16:51:32 UTC +00:00
Many of the apps featured in this column week after week are free. This is done for a couple reasons. For one, most people are not rich and cannot test out every paid app thrown their way. For another, apps that may be useful to me may not be as useful to you. While I don’t want to waste my money, it’s more important I don’t convince you to waste yours on something that doesn’t quite fit your needs. This week, however, it’s time to pay up. I’m going to do my best to convince you to pay for three apps – Mover+, Simplenote and Newsstand. Based on John Gruber’s recommendation, I gave Simplenote a buy. In short, he’s right. Previously, I recommended Evernote. It’s a great app especially if you’re on an iPhone 3GS. It has some great features that are impossible to match. Chief among the features unique to Read More

Great product!
Colinjapan 5.0 stars Version: 1.01
Simplenote has the best user interface that I have seen in a note taking program. With its quick search capabilities and straight forward design, jotting down that quick idea has never been easier. Whether you want to write some poetry in motion or a note to that special someone, simplenote allows you to take notes easily and quickly. Great product!
Great starting point, basic idea well executed, should get better with time
madmaxmedia 5.0 stars Version: 2.02
Notational Velocity is a great note-taking application for the Mac- very basic but with a great interface which has been largely duplicated in Simplenote. The only hitch I have found is that when you enter some text into the search field and then hit the icon for new note, the typed text is not inserted into your new note. It was one of the little touches that made Notational Velocity so great, so hopefully the developers will add this soon.
Just what I needed! Great, useful app
macaddiict 5.0 stars Version: 2.03
This has got to be the most useful application so far on my phone. The developer has done a great job of creating a program that has just the right features while remaining really, really simple.
Search Feature ****ROCKS****
Acefoxtrot 4.0 stars Version: 2.03
Finally!!!!! an app that searches detailed info......Search is a must for a real estate agent who is constantly getting leads and taking info on the go…..and….it syncs up your info….Thanks
great little app, does only what it says and does it well
kregerator 5.0 stars Version: 2.03
I've played with a number of note taking apps and none of them really lived up to what I was looking for. Then I settled on Simplenote. The iphone interface is clean and simple and well suited to simple notes with no clutter. Add in the ability to edit online and have everything sync without a hitch and the package meets all my needs with no useless clutter added. Thanks, Codality!
Great app ...
Optimus Prune 4.0 stars Version: 2.03
This is an update to a review I posted yesterday warning buyers that the web app version of simplenote was not working. The web app now appears to be back up and running well.
Awesome Notepad!!!
DISGRUNTLED G.O.A.T 5.0 stars Version: 2.03
Wow what a great alternative to the notepad that comes on the Touch. You are able to type in landscape mode, which is so much faster and easier. I rarely have a mistype, and I have pretty large hands. It has a spell check too. It's nice, simple, and to the point. Thank you!
Too good to be true?
tehkubix 5.0 stars Version: 2.06
I've beenlooking for a good way t o take notes on the phone and on the computer and be able to view them at all times. I even created a web-app for myself, basically this without the searchbox, but when i don't have internet access or when my server goes down I am without my notes! This application gives me exactly what i wanted: minimal interface, offline editing, syncing to an online service that i can access from anywhere. I honestly thought this was too good to be true but I wanted a solution and I'm glad I chose this app.
THEE Note app
M.P. McKeown 5.0 stars Version: 2.03
When I write down notes, I want to open up my computer and continue working on them seamlessly. Simplenote does that. The best part is, I sync my notes, leave and continue working on my documents offline until I find another Wi-Fi hotspot. If you write for a newspaper, or just love to write and keep on the move, Simplenote is the app that will solve your problems.
Great little app!
markeefe 5.0 stars Version: 2.06
This note-taking app is very easy to use, has a streamlined interface, and automatically updates your notes to a private space on the Simple Note website. From there, you can edit your notes or cut-and-paste them into a Word Doc. Through this piecemeal method, I wrote the bulk of an article while covering a music festival. So, it's a great tool for journalists. It would probably be helpful for students, too. It's well worth the $1.99 to upgrade from Apple's free Notes app to the excellent Simplenote.
Terrific Notes program
Palm OS migration 5.0 stars Version: 2.05
Just what I was looking for. I am trying to migrate from the trusted Palm OS to the iTouch. There was no way to get Notes from the Palm -- and I had many. I would have had to finger type for hours. (Major deficiency of the iTouch is copy/cut-and-paste.) This program let me copy to the Web and VERY QUICKLY sync to the iTouch. Thank you, thank you, thank you. BINGO!
Simple Intuitive, a must have for Iphone users
Ben Saya 4.0 stars Version: 2.05
This is a great App, first App for the iphone that is simple, intuitive, and a must have for all iphone users. Yes it is a "Notes" type program, but with a nicer UI and the ability to quickly copy / paste, say a recipe on your laptop online using the web log in and VOILA its on your iphone.
Great app!
declareHisglory 5.0 stars Version: 2.06
This app really delivers. The easiest way I have found to get info on my itouch. And it is available online when away from my laptop. I have tried many programs for syncing info, this is the best.
Web App Sync never worked for me
RandallReviewer 1.0 stars Version: 2.03
I purchased it 4 days ago. Entries I created on the web site were not sync'd back to my ipod touch. Notes created on the ipod create multiple copies on the web site. Support responded to my email by asking what release of the ipod software I was using. No further response. Synchronization to the website still doesn't work, although I create new copies of my test note each time I sync. I intend to delete the app.
I have used them all!
Landyamarie 5.0 stars Version: 2.05
I wanted a simple note-taking app for keeping track of my monthly expenses. I used Pennies and found it too constricting, deleted it after paying for it. The iphone note-taking app was not flexible enough and did not work in landscape mode. I tried Nozbe, Jott, and others. This is by far the best. Can make lists on web or iphone, then they sync flawlessly via wireless. And developer is extremely responsive, as good as it gets.
Great app!!
Jim Alfaro 5.0 stars Version: 2.06
Works exactly as described. Priced right based on function provided. Much easier to create notes on regular keyboard. Fast, automatic synch with iPhone. Highly recomended.
Fantastic
raymondtlee 5.0 stars Version: 2.06
After trying evernote and various other note taking apps I found that simplenote does everything I need... Syncability to web in clean simple interface.
Very handy!
gammoner 4.0 stars Version: 2.06
Nice way to get notes back and forth from PC and iPhone. Search feature is very handy. How to get five stars and own this space: 1. Categories. Palm has them, we should too. 2. Sync to MS Onenote. Would be worth $20 at least. Still, best I've seen so far.
Great App! Great Support!
vandalekg 5.0 stars Version: 2.06
A great little app that provides a means to not only move lists on and off your phone, but access the same lists from your phone or any browser - and yes it is fast. I use it for my daily GTD lists. Of no less value has been the excellent support. I sent an email with a question and to my surprise only minutes later had a response from the developer. Thank you Codality
Very useful app.
WWJD777 5.0 stars Version: 2.06
I have been using this for a few days and find it to be exceptional for handling notes easily, fast, and with the nice feature of storing it on the iTouch as well as a secure online site at a fare price. You can easily update your notes using the built-in keyboard or when the notes sync with the online storage site you can even edit them using your regular computer with an Internet connect. SimpleNote solves a big hole missing in the software bundled with the iTouch. I had numerous notes that I transferred from my old Palm in less than 5 minutes into the online account you get when you purchase SimpleNotes then it automatically syncs wirelessly onto my iTouch. I do a lot of training with schools and will share this program with them. As more schools look at devices like the iTouch for student use, SimpleNotes provides a nice solution for students who need a basic writing program on their iTouch while also allowing them to do more extensive edits online then re-sync the edits back to their iTouch…Great program!
Very useful !!!!!! WELL WORTH $2
Only The Best Alternative 4.0 stars Version: 2.06
Shame on apple for not providing what every mobile device has now!
Simplenote Is Nearly Perfect
John Gruber 5.0 stars Version: 2.07
I've tried a slew of iPhone notes apps, and not only is Simplenote my favorite, it might be my favorite App Store app period. It's that good. It's just as simple as the built-in Notes app from Apple, but (a) uses Helvetica and a simple white background, and (b) automatically syncs to a free web-based version. So type notes on your iPhone and they sync to the web, and type notes on the web version from your computer and they sync to your iPhone. So simple, so perfect.
Not sure if it supports the "tab" character but otherwise seems great.
Destroy89 5.0 stars Version: 2.07
Loaded up a 3500 line file and works (a little slow of course, but it works).
Perfect!!
Francola 5.0 stars Version: 2.08
Thank you so much for this beautifully simple app!! My note taking life would be complete if you would create a bare bones app just like the web app for the Mac desktop! I and I am sure many others would gladly pay for that as well. Might I suggest something I have done in lieu of not having an official desktop app. I am using an app called Fluid that allows you to have a self contained web page on it's own as if it were a regular desktop application. Thanks again!!
Simplenote's Great
windylou 5.0 stars Version: 2.07
I've tried several note apps, and Simplenote is by far my favorite. It's simple, just like it says. Syncing is easy and quick. I'm sold on it and look forward to finding many uses.
Fantastically simple app
Sanda13 5.0 stars Version: 2.09
I also bought this app based on John Gruber's description and recommendation. Aside from the icon and lack of swipe to delete, I adore this app. It has replace notes on my iPhone, and I find myself jotting even more down because of how much I enjoy using it.
No 'live numbers'
den4ever 3.0 stars Version: 2.09
Please include the ability to call, email or text from within the notes & how about swipe to erase.
Elegant
Angry Robot 4.0 stars Version: 2.09
Simple, clean, functional. So nice to see a developer trying to be clever using non-standard icons and controls. Maybe Apple will sync notes via MobileMe someday, but until then I will use this. And if you think this app icon is bad, you clearly haven't seen Movie Genie.
Great Note Solution
zoram99 5.0 stars Version: 2.10
This app is great. It is a wonderful way to keep track of a variety of information, lists, etc. I wished there was a way to "lock" the note so that the keyboard does not pop so easily when moving the note up and down.
One of the top apps I use every day
Jeff the monkey 5.0 stars Version: 2.10
This may be my favorite 3rd party app ever! I just purchased Simplenote based on Jon Gruber's recommendation at Daring Fireball and this simple but wonderful app delivers. Simplenote is focused on providing a few things that work very well: easy and fast notetaking on the iPhone; a web-based app that can be accessed on any computer with web access; seamless, over-the-air synchronization between iPhone and web-app; and offline operation for your iPhone when not connected to cell or wifi networks. It does all of these things perfectly. Esp. since the developer has replaced the ugly icon that Gruber and other reviewers have mentioned. ;-) I've owned an iPhone since summer 2007 and this is the first time I've enjoyed an app so much that i was moved to write a review. Quite simply, Simplenote rocks.
Great App Needs Better Sharing
digiprod 4.0 stars Version: 2.10
I bought this app for its dead simple design. It works great and I recommend it. The price is great and works like the built-in iPhone Notes app should have. I pay $99 a year for MobileMe and Apple expects me to sync notes with a cable to my Mac? On top of that the bult-in app syncs with Mail, an app I don't even use!
