I was one of the early adopters of SkySafari 2 having used it for both casual night sky viewing and for telescope control. I was looking forward to the release of version 3 and upon seeing the basic release, I am very impressed. The controls are intuitive, the graphics are stunning and the "compass mode" is spot on.I have used several other astronomy programs, but none compare to SkySafari 3. I will be at the front of the line waiting for the release of the "pro" version.

Superb graphics with a real time view of the sky from your location on earth works great with my iPhone 3GS .has tons of info on thousands of objects in the sky

I've used SkySafari Lite on my 3GS for a year now, and have been generally satisfied with it. Sometimes it gets hung app while panning around, but always gets the job done with a restart. This morning I received pushed notification about the new SkySafari 3 and downloaded it. It's smoother running, both while panning around and definitely while zooming in and out. One disappoinment: I was able to pick satellites to view in the older Lite version, and am unable to do so with version 3. It appears that this feature is not available in the basic version. The Lite version showed the satellites, but probably was inaccurate in their locations since it wasn't possible to update the ephemeris data, as you can in the new version 3. Looks like I will get the Plus version when it is released soon!

Have been using v2.x for a while and this new version is even better. Real time compass and very nice interface. Integration of Sky And Telescope's weekly objects is a nice feather on this app. I too can't wait for the "Pro" version.R,TXCheng

Definitely the best astronomy app for iOS. Especially since it's always with me! Can't wait to pick up the SkyWire to use this to control my scope.

SkySafari is to me the best of the astronomy apps in the app store. The new what's up tonight feature and the night mode button are really nice. Can't wait for the Plus and Pro versions to be released.

Having used every different desktop planetarium program available since the 1990’s for personal as well as lecture and demonstration use, I've learned to demand accuracy, power, flexibility, and a set of features allowing me to use the program for reference, for demonstration, and for my own exploration.Sky Safari 3 is the next logical step in the transition from lugging around a laptop with a full-featured planetarium program to enjoying the same power and flexibility in an iPad. When the "pro" versions come out, I expect that the transition will be complete. Powerful, flexible, intuitive user interface, and outstanding technical support from the developer and from a user community Mamet this app a great value!Besides, it is simply beautiful to behold!
