The smart.fm app has been desired by so many people using the site that it was only a matter of time, I just finished experimenting with it and it was time well spent with remaining options for expansion this truly demonstrates the dedication of its developers. The main study function is based on the iknow study format while still accurately determining speed and accuracy. This app also allows one to add individual objects for study on the fly, an amazing option that is great for any level user. Overall this app I believe will become one of the most downloaded app to date in the language study category.

Very good app. I wish there was a way to set it to Kanji focus though when reviewing. Been waiting a long time for this. I'm glad its finally out. Loving the new owl mascot. ^_^

This is a wonderful app and its very fun im learning the countries of europe its so easy and educational get this app!

Constantly tells me I have no Internet when I do... That gets really annoying. Also the inorporation of yiddish into erudite vocabulary was interesting.... But hey, it's free, and I'm learning something.

I was excited to try this because I love smart.fm but this is in no way ready for primetime. It is slow and keeps crashing. It takes way too many clicks to start studying and when I do log in I get a hideous shrunken version of the website. I was hoping for something that looked like what I get when I click "explore."

I love this app. I just used it to brush up on some facts about US Presidents while in the cab to work! The quiz format is fun and intuitive. Now it's on to some French verbs for me. Great job Smart.fm!!!

I would love to use this app because I really enjoy the web-based version and would like to take it with me.. but it simply won't work. I've never had problems with an app on my iPhone before, but this one won't let me log in *and* it keeps crashing. Please fix this, I can't wait to use it when you get it working!!!

I have fun playing with this app learning Spanish and Latin on the go.

works great for me. i already learned thoroughly 5 new words while waiting for the bus. the connection seems a bit slow sometimes but overall awesome!. this app will turn me into a learning machine.

Currently there are a lot of bugs in the app. It crashes a lot and it doesn't work offline at all. So far the only offline functionality I've seen is that you can repeat the last session that you completed while on wifi. Plus some items play audio while others don't (on partner goals AND user made ones). But it works well if you're on wifi. I hope a few things get fixed so I can rate this higher.

Figured out login issues: use your user name, not your email address (oddly both work on the site). However there is no kana mode, so unless your kanji is very good you're stuck. I wish I could get more out of it, but it's a great first step and FREE!!!

It's pretty slow to use . And it's still really good at crashing even with the latest update. Lot of features but they feel half baked....but free!

App is nothing like the actual screencast. Just a clunky login followed by a teeny tiny view of the website. They didn't even bother making version of the site optimized for iPhone. Rushed out and totally not ready, just like the recent site redesign. Something is pushing these guys to release products that aren't even ready for beta.

I'm using it for Japanese, but it wont let me study in kana mode. I am working on kanji, but am not very far, so this app does not really work for my needs. If it had a kana mode though it seems like it would work very well.

i don't understand why anyone is having trouble with this app. it works great for me. It let me continue my learning from the full website with no problem. this can and only will get better. it's like Rosetta Stone on steroids... the future is here!

I can't log on

I love this website and use it as often as I can to study my Japanese vocabulary. This app is going to help so much. I am so happy. I am so happy that I actually started to add French vocabulary on the website for the French classes I give at a university in the States. Thank you so much Smart.fm. We love you.

I've used the site smart.fm for my Japanese language studies and I've always learned immense amounts in short times. I had hoped they would come out with an iPhone app for some time now. What I like about this is that it picks up your progress from where you leave off on the site and it transfers the data automatically to the iPhone. This app is great for anyone wanting to learn lots of info quickly.

This app is a good idea, but needs to grow. There are very limited subjects to learn about, and most are not in English...something I would have liked to know before I purchased.

Been waiting for this app for while, but disappointed on many fronts. Crashes out a LOT, awful at synching with the website, refuses to draw on a 3G signal when it is clearly available. Overall, useful to an extent and has great potential, but as another reviewer here put it so well, it's not ready for prime time by any means.
