Solomon’s Boneyard
Calendar16 Wed, 01 Feb 2012 22:06:35 UTC +00:00
Solomon’s Boneyard is a dual stick shooter game for iOS but instead of using guns and high tech weaponry you use magic. Depending on the character you pick, he or she can use fire, ice, lightning, or the classic magic missile to attack. Each character has specific skills to use in battle. The character you pick has an attack skill, a secondary skill, and a third skill you can choose if you can get it at random. This game is about surviving the endless waves of undead and other creatures Solomon Dark will send at you. Raptisoft who made Solomon’s Keep also made this app. Solomon’s Boneyard runs on the iPhone, iPod Touch and is compatible with iOS 3.0 or higher. Solomon’s Boneyard shares many similarities to Solomon’s Keep but instead of moving from room to room, you stay on one map and try to survive the endless onslaught. From skeletons Read More
Know Your Role: iPhone RPG Gaming Roundup

The holidays aren’t yet over, and that means you probably still have some time off on your hands. What better way to spend that time than with some engrossing, in-depth RPG gaming? Once upon a time, this category wasn’t very well represented on the iPhone, but that’s changed, and now there’s a very healthy selection. The following are some of the best. By now you’ve probably heard about this game, possibly from our own review of the title. It also got considerable pre-release hype, since it’s the first game on iOS devices to make use of Epic’s Unreal engine. Thanks to that engine, it looks fantastic, and is easily the prettiest game on the iPhone, even if you don’t have a fancy new Retina Display. Even without its good looks, Infinity Blade would be hard to put down. It’s simple and repetitive, but it features an awesome loot and leveling system, Read More

Endless Onslaught Of Fantastic Game Play
Genetic Experiment 626 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
This game is just like Solomon's Keep both graphically & in game play and that is a fantastic game. You can play 4 wizards to start and unlock some through play. Each wizard has a different spell power, fire and ice, a wizard w/ magic missiles & witch w/ lightning. You have an endless supply of evil villains to slaughter and a nearly endless supply of mana. This game is golden a 5 star and then some. This is a great dual stick shooter with OpenFeint leader boards. If you haven't played Solomon's Keep yet, get it too, it is my second favorite game after Sword of Fargoal. My only request is to have more save slots added so I could keep each wizard saved, right now you only can continue your current game.
Good, but needs some tweaks
Drakx3 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
The core of the game is what made the other solomon's keep game entertaining: blasting monsters and leveling up with random abilities. The gold is slow to come by, which is somewhat understandable given the way the game is structured, but it's a bit frustrating. Also, like the original game, there are certain enemies that overtake you way to quick. A little balance is in order I think. Regardless, this spin off game is just as polished as It's predecessor, and easily worth the dollar for fans of the original and dual stick shooters in general. The lighting effects are even more amazing this time around.
Solomon Keep goes Dual-Stick Shooter!
Lord Gek 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Wow! I guess this is essentially just a streamlined Solomon's Keep so as to be a bit more of a pure Dual Stick RPG Shooter! I love the level/perk system in this game! Each level you get to pick one of three random perks for your character. Many of these are generic (increased mana, health, or character speed) and many are tied directly into your character's career path (as a Fire Mage do you want your fireballs to do more damage or have a wider area of effect?). Almost all of these perks are incremental little steps so you might choose the same basic deal multiple times (like increase fireball damage). I also love the Meta-Game aspect. The money you gain in-game can then be used to buy little perks between games to give your characters an initial boost. I love how, even though the game does offer a REAL WORLD in app purchase option for all the cash you could eat, these abilities are more than affordable with just in-game cash. Sure some will take a bit of saving, but unlike Mega Jump or Froggy Jump, even the more expensive items could be bought after just a few hours of concentrated play.

NOTE: Remember you have an inventory pack you access by tapping the upper left. This is where you go to equip rings and use your initial stock of potions.
Amazing

Very well done. SB is like minigore except funnier and with way more variation and things to unlock. Insanely addicting with the same quality of gameplay as Solomon's Keep.
Great
Lord Blackthorn 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
This game is easily worth more than a dollar. There are games going for 2.99 out there that do not come close to this. For me both Solomon games are a must for any iPod / iPhone owner
Great companion game!
PickAxues 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Solomon's Boneyard rocks! It is the same idea as solomon's keep, but mote fast paced. Beats the crap out of minigore and other dual stick shooters. Also, Raptisoft is sensitive to customer requests and updated solomon's keep several times to make everyone happy. I'm not sure how I feel about the new shading effects though...a little distracting.
Awesome game
Jc311910 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Lots of fun to play with great graphics. So cool that you get powerups as you play and coins to use. Like solomon's keep but more intense. Awesome
Awesome!!!!!
(XsaddamX) 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
I followed this game throughout it's development and I knew it was going to be great. I came into it with high hopes and I wasn't disappointed. The leveling and skill system are identical to the Solomon's keep ones plus more skills (and even a new primary skill!) It is way more fast paced than SK as well, making it great for short gaming sessions as well as long ones (I played it this morning for 3 hours straight, killing my entire battery in the process). Whether you are a fan of RPGs, action games, dual stick shooters, or adventure games, I'm sure solomon's boneyard won't fail to impress. Stop reading these reviews and buy it right now!!
Great game. Some ideas...
Spiral75 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
I am a huge fan of SK so of course I picked this up right away! I love it so far and even added some gold just for fun  - just a couple ideas wgich would guve my rating that extra bump to 5's....first....I get very sick of looking at the same map over and over. I would LOVE to see some different levels / maps. Second, more items to the shop would be great. Maybe weapons or something. Those two things i think would really help the replay value!!
Terribly Boring
Ryansfsu 1.0 stars Version: 1.0
This game has nothing to really offer. The controls for you character are sloppy and you just run around pressing the "fire" button and hope it hits something. The same map is for EVERY level and seriously didn't keep my attention for more than three levels. All in all.... Not impressed whatsoever. Granted this game is only .99 cents but for that amount you could buy angry birds which is SO FUN.
Great game for $.99
Ciel71 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Wish there are more maps though.
Great Title!
Ctawater 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
I'm a big fan of SK from the art style to the funny dialogue. It's great to see another solid title in the same universe. I love the variety of magic and characters but a higher gold drop ratio would be nice. I also think at least 1-2 more levels need to be added for the asking price. Overall though, great design, controls, and an a blast to play in short bursts. 
The best way to spend your 99c
