Something interesting is going on in the Android Market this morning. A bunch of our favorite apps are suddenly going for a dime, with no real rhyme or reason for the discount. @dirkyd3rlc and @Pat_Huey on Twitter alerted us to SwiftKey and Minecraft on sale for 10 cents, and we've found others. (Update: And in the UK, the apps are going for 10p each, not 6p, which would be converted from 10 cents U.S. We definitely smell a trend here.) Here's the list as it stands. There may be others. The app app provides five free music searches per month in addition to unlimited voice, text, and lyrics searches. Free of ads but full of self-promo links It finds always the song played. I rate it 3 stars because the linked advertisement (self promo in Twitter) and the clutter you have into found results page. Even if I use Facebook and Twitter very often, I never use it inside the app and on top of that, even if you paid for an ad-less product, it forces the soundhound self promoted url's and keywords. The app does not have an option to disable/enable other types of sharing, you have to go through an extra menu to pick Gmail, for example. Refunded.

I'm a little disappointed that it's 7mb since the update on 3/6/12 but please please don't update again this app is perfect and I don't say that about many apps on the market I would love to use this app forever so if it gets any bigger I'll have to remove from my phone because I don't have the space it blows shazam out of the water shazam use to be good never as good as this but shazam just kept updating till they ruined there app please don't make the same mistake shazam did by updating constantly

I don't expect it to work every time and for those few times when it does not work, I use Shazam. Between the two of them I almost always get the song. I love this app! I'd like to see this app become even better. Let's see it identify styles of dance that should be associated with the song! Maybe not everyone would care about this but for dancers who are learning ballroom it can be a challenge to know what the dance style is for a piece of music. It has loads of other useless info so why not this?

Installed and works as advertised for Evo 4g (the only reason this app didn't get 1 star). Doesn't work for lenovo k1 tablet with 3.2 even though it's compatible. It keeps automatically backing out of pages until it exits the app. Erasing data makes the app work until a song is tagged, then it starts doing it again. The worst part is customer service. I go to their website for support and tried using the web form, but it only gives me error messages and has been broken for quite a while. In sum, works for phone, broken for honeycomb tablet, no customer support. 2 Stars.

It gets a lot of Chinese, Malaysian and Indonesian songs dead wrong. Humming barely works. As long as its some sort of pop music, this works. Otherwise as a tool to discover new music, this fails. Another thing, for anime related music this only works 50% of the time. Old timers like Nana Mizuki works fine, new comers like ClariS is completely missed. The Goddess Madoka can't be pleased about this. Good this is, since its USD 0.10, no big loss there. Gotta download Shazam instead.

I don't typically write reviews because I feel that won't really be read and/or trusted, but I had to write one for this terrific app. I decided to give it a shot since it was on sale, and well, I've exhausted my battery using it. It was so much fun trying to find songs it wouldn't get, and being pleasantly surprised when it found even obscure J-Pop and Euro Dubstep songs. Both my kids were frantically trying to find a song it couldn't identify. Overall, I am extremely impressed by the app, and the amount of information it can share. I really like the live lyrics and hope to see more of those.

Love it. Works great recognizes playing music and humming for when you can't get that song that you don't remember the name of out of your head. Much better than googling "dun dun dun dun" or something silly like that. Tried shazam and it's no where near this app. Why google offered it for ten cents when this was already offered before and does a better job I'll never know :( what a waste google but thanks for all the great deals nonetheless.

Besides Maby needing to do updates a little more.I Havn't found anything better.I do sometimes have to make some songs loud as hell for it too register the song but that's just little stupid things.the overall massive amount of information it gives you n how quick you can find songs n all the info is excellent well worth I think the 2$ or so I paid I know it was cheep to buy the pro n well worth it no major issues. BUY IT YOU WILL HAPPY WITH ALL THE HAPPY PERKS N INFO THIS APP GIVES YOU!

This app needs lots of improvement such as identifying accuracy and so forth. Please update this app and expand the database for this app if soundhoung unlimited is not actually using the world wide web to search for songs. Because if it were to actually use the world wide web then it would've identified all the foreign songs as well as precision in domestic songs. I could be wrong cause I don't really know what engine this app actually runs on but I did a little research on it.

It's unbelievable how well made this app is. I consider myself fairly tech savvy and I have no idea on earth how SoundHound can work this well. I tested it on three radio songs in a row, it nailed the first two in about 5 seconds, the third took a 2nd try since the singer had some "relaxation" in his vocals, so oddly enough it was able to find the song by the guitar solo! Amazing! I then tried it on one of my metal albums by Amon Amarth, trying to push SoundHound's limits. The first try was a no-go, so I figured for sure I had beat it. Then I gave it a 2nd try during another guitar riff in the same song with no vocals. A few seconds later, there it was. The correct band, song and info. Unbelievable. This is no-brainer five star app.

This app is terrible on my galaxy s2! . It never recognizes anything it hears and gives the "didn't hear any music" message. My microphones are not covered or obstructed in any way. The few times (roughly 3) times that it did hear music it did not identify it correctly. I've had this app for 3 months.... and I try to use it in vain every day. I had the free version on my old optimus v and it worked like a charm. You'd think that the premium version would work better, especially on hardware as good as the GS2... but no. Please update or fix these issue Soundhound. I have noticed a lot of the lower star/ranked reviews are all from samsung device owners... maybe soundhound needs to rework the app for samsung phones or something.

Very disappointed that LiveLyrics is not available outside US and Canada. Since not living is one of those countries I have paid the same amount for an app with less features. Cannot understand it since those countries are mainly English speaking and would have less problems following and understanding the lyrics of songs. Don't waste money on the Pro version if you're not living in the US or Canada Would have given it 5stars if LiveLyrics were available.

I have a Motorola Electrify and I'm not sure what happened to this app... it used to be able to recognize short clips even in noisy areas, but it's gotten to the point where 9 times out of ten it won't pick anything up even if it's a clear sound in an otherwise quiet room... Either that, or it identifies a completely incorrect song (I was listening to a classic rock station and it came up as Leann Rimes??). The widget is even worse :(

am using samsung galaxy s2. purchased soundhound a while ago and it stopped working last month and everytime i hit the orange button, it says it cannot detect any music, even if i am holding it next to the source and there is no other ambient sound! i uninstalled and reinstalled a few times...it works for one time (immediately after reinstall) and then hangs again...it cannot hear any music...my microphone is in perfect working order...frustrated...
