What makes the Oxford Translator several steps above all others is the fact that it serves a couple of different functions: 1) it's a simple, handy travel tool that will help you get around in all situations 2) It's an excellent learning tool in that it allows you to build a lot of practical sentences that work and 3) It does all of that in a format that provides a clear translation while looking at the written word. This way, the language becomes second-nature as you practice. I think one of the hardest things about learning a new language is the fact that most methods don't get you using conjugations and practical sentences right away. Learning words is fine, but it's much better to sound at least a tiny bit literate. This translator definitely does that! You could combine this with a great Spanish dictionary and be done with it. Highly recommended and a great deal at $9.99!

This is an app that actually allows the user to have a conversation.I have not found any app that allows this. What a great app!

There's no search feature, for things such as "what's that mean in English?"

A simple tool to put together common sentences, this App works great. Nice voice-over and easy to make sentences in many categories. I also like that it is a self contained App, not requiring the internet. However, it doesn't live up to the "Professional" label. It is lacking a basic direct translation tool, which I assumed would be included. This makes it perfect for a tourist with no background in Spanish

I'm sorry, but this app is sorry. I feel like I wasted 2 bucks that I could have used on a couple of double stacks at Wendys. This only has pre-selected phrases that are good for nothing. I'd rather spend more money on an app that allows you to put together phrases that you want to know how to say and not some pre-determined set given to you buy the developers. Then they start offering different versions that are more stripped down like a car with no A/C just to get more of your money. Like translations, conjucations, and more BS. Save your money and go to Wendys

This is an ok app, but what I'm disappointed about us that this has no direct translation tool. I like the sentence builder, but this app isn't really any good for a quick word of sentence translation.

This app is great for someone traveling who has no knowledge of Spanish language. It is not an app for the more fluent user looking to advance proficiency. The translations are limited.

It would be useful if the sound would work as advertised -- but after initial download--nada! Nothing. Not a peep!

i think people should stop wasting time and energy on game apps. this is a business world when you get down to it. learn as much as you can. this is cool and finally something that is proper. i was testing it out with my friend and we were actually able to converse. i love it.

We travel to Cozumel often and I like to try to speak as much Spanish as possible as a courtesy. After trying several other translators, I came across this one. It's AMAZING. Not only does is teach you the words, it will show you how to pronounce them too. You will love it!

This is really an incredible app !! I really like how it is setup for different things that you may do like converation or travel and lots more. It also pronounces the words for you which is also great if you have trouble speaking the language

Sound didn't work the first time I downloaded it. I emailed customer support and they got back to me within 10 minutes to address the problem. After deleting the program and re-installing (at no charge), the app worked fine.

I like this app, it allows me to put together common sentences and would be very helpful when I'm in spain or mexico. I wouldn't use it if I wanted to become totally fluent but to become proficient would be nice. I lets you use the word in sentences and apply rather than memorizing words. It would be nice if there were some games on the app cuz those help me learn words. I really like this app, its very easy to use.

Just bought new iPhone 3G for trip to Spain and France. Bought Oxford Translator Spanish and French and neither has any sound at all. Very disappointing.

I know a little Spanish and this app fills in the gaps with everyday conversation. Updated and increased conversations in the future will only add to it's utility. Did I say that their customer service is excellent yet? It is.

I am a native spanish speaker and I can tell you that this app is accurate and has a very complete menu of dialogue scenarios. Now I am going to download the french pro one. I'll wait for the portuguese and chinese pro prices to go down. Congrats developer!

This is an excellent spanish phrase app with voice. Inexpensive and useful.

An excellent product that I really needed.

Worth it to anyone dealing with spanish-english translation on a day to day basis. I find it ideal to retrieve those hard to remember spanish conjugations. Having the whole app stored on the ipod (no need for internet) is what make this a fantastic app. More advanced speakers will find this worth every penny.
