I have had to redo levels repeatedly because the game doesn't save progress reliably. Once they fix the bugs, I'd probably give it 4 stars.

The game is fun, but there are still some issues. The homing missiles in the later levels seem to be attracted to your own planes. I shot one directly at a balloon and it did a full loop to come around and hit my plane in the rear. All in all a lot of fun though.

This is a truly addictive game. It is turn-based fighter combat sim. You have 20 different missions with various starting configurations(1 v 2, 2 v 4, 3 v 7, 4 v 10, etc). There is no energy management such as in real aerial combat. However, each aircraft has special abilities that you will need to use to maximize your stars. Get through a missions with no hits on your aircraft earns you 4 stars. It goes down from there. Even though there is no energy management, or vertical maneuvering, you do need to manage lead, lag, and speed. I finished this game and while the program did crash out a few times I never lost my progress. One thing this game needs is a manual to explain all of the features. You will figure it out eventually but a manual or tutorial would be helpful. The following are my suggestions to make this game even better: 1) A hot seat multi-player with up to 6 players. That would be amazing. 2) Find a way to put in vertical maneuvering (A yo-yo, Immelmann, split-s, Barrel Roll would add to the fun) 3) Build a version of this for tactical space ships. 4) Allow users to design aircraft/ships. Pick aircraft. Each has a certain volume and weight. Then player can choose engine size, weapon loads, special moves, etc)

App crashed my iPad after trying to play 1st level. After a power cycle there is now no sound. Otherwise, the touch controls work well and plays well. Looking forward to a fix for the sound.

Game doesn't register completion of levels, and no stars are awarded upon level completion on the screen that displays all levels.

I am having the audio issue they warn about in the description itself, so I can't fault them too much for that since I knew about it before I purchased. Other than that, the game works fine for me, and is just my cup of tea.

This game is great, but would be incredible if it was multiplayer. All u would have to do is hide the other players moves and it would be a blast. Please make this possible hotseat and online. Still worth the money as is though. Thanks.

At first I wasnt sure, but as I play more I am learning the game, hope it continues to get better, I know it is a flash game on the web but I still hope it goes further in the app store... Pretty good game play but can make you want to pull out your hair somtimes!

A. You made the last level so laggy it's almost impossible to play. PUT A SELF DESTRUCT TIME ON THE MISSLES!! B. Um we should be able to self position our planes in the start C. Where the heck is the spitfire? Overall not worth it when you get to the last level you have to attack right away or else the BOSSES keep shooting missiles making it impossible to play. NEEDS SELF DESTRUCT ON MISSLES

This game is a blast! It plays somewhat like an electronic version of the "Wings of War" tabletop game. I really wish there was some kind of level designer with this game. It would be really cool to make missions and share them with my friends to see who could get the highest score on a particular custom mission.

Steambirds is clever, innovative, challenging -- what more could you possibly want? Maybe an awesome soundtrack? Oh, right -- it's got that, too. The only thing I can possibly find wrong with this game is that it does feel a bit like a Flash port. That may just be because I first played the Flash version though, so I can't hold that against it.
