One of my favorite games that never seemed to get a lot of attention is Noodlecake Games’ Stick Golf [99¢/HD], which was released in May of last year. Far from being a traditional golf game, Stick Golf was more of a 2D artillery style game where each shot required figuring out the correct trajectory to launch your ball in order to get it into each hole in as few shots as possible. This particular gameplay fit extremely well as a golfing game, and Stick Golf featured a ton of content with 16 different 9-hole courses that ran the gamut from fairly typical to wildly fantastical. Stick Golf es uno de esos juegos simples pero adictivos hasta no poder más. Como su propio nombre indica tiene que ver con el golf, pero sin complicaciones de palos diferentes, ni complejos gráficos como nos tienen habituados los desarrolladores de este tipo de juegos. Tenemos multitud de campos a recorrer, pero unos campos muy peculiares, muy geométricos visualmente hablando. Tan sólo tenemos un palo, una bola y una banderita que nos indica el viento y su velocidad. Con esos elementos, tendremos que hacer tiros casi perfectos para salir airosos de los campos de los que antes os hablábamos. La física es muy importante y quizás sea el punto fuerte de Stick Golf. For anyone that enjoys the game of golf as much as I do, Stick Golf HD for iPad is a must-have. I’ve been playing the game going on a month (at least) now, and it’s a good game to have on-hand for any idle moments that creep up on you. The game is simple. Golf holes are portrayed as side scrolling ‘levels’ of sorts, much like you’d see in original NES games like Super Mario Brothers. You can adjust your aim with simple left and right arrows, and when you’re ready, you hit the power meter to set how hard you hit the ball. That’s pretty much it. Simple… and fun. As you progress through the game, the courses get wackier and wackier… and I have to hand it to the developers, they’ve done an absolute AWESOME job of updating the game with new courses and features over the past month.
