This weekend, we’re going to have fun in another brain game. This time, it’s a game similar to Risk, Strategery. Strategery is a land battle game where you battle up to 4 other players on random maps of various sizes. You start out controlling an equal part of the world map and battle to control more. You initiate a battle against another country on the board and then automatic dice rolls determine the winner. You turn continues until you have done all of the valid battles you wish. After your turn you can reinforce your troops in the countries that you still control to give you stronger forces for the next round. Great, simple fun

This is a very simple but enjoyable strategy game with a lot of replay value. The simplicity makes it a game that you can start up, play and finish within 5-10 minutes while waiting around. The small and medium size maps are fun but I'm going to upgrade to the non-lite version to play a larger map. The computer AIs aren't the best even on medium. But at least there's no cheating and I certainly don't win every time. The people that win all of the time probably keep generating maps until they like the starting conditions. I'll play any map, even when I start out in a disadvantaged state. I also enjoy that armies can't be placed, it adds another element of planning to the game.

I love Risk, but don't have the time for the complexity and length of Lux. This game scratches that itch beautifully, allowing me to play quick games when I can, in a simplistic, beatutifully polished interface.

Love the game but if you are not going to allow the player to place his own armies then you could at least program the game to do it more appropriately--when I lose it is most often from my new armies being scattered into random territories. Still love the game though. Worth the trial and worth paying for the whole game.

Can't move units around, computers are too easy on all difficulties, doesn't feel like a strategy game bc the game is too easy, and the game is not addicting. If I could give it no stars I would.

Lite version is useless

Most 'lite' versions of games eliminate special options or extra features. However Strategery Lite eliminates a core element to this type of game; the ability to place new armies yourself at the end of the turn. Just make an advance and want to fortify your position? Too bad, the computer just auto-placed all your extra armies at the rear of your territory where they are useless.

This game is very addictive, but you may find yourself very angry! The dice probabilty is the worst out there (I've never seen so many '1s' in my life!), but the AI isn't that good, so it usually balances out. But when it doesn't, wow it's frustrating! Good game though!
