There's something about the weekend, apparently, that makes iOS games want to drop their prices right down to the bottom. There's quite a few good deals out -- this Bejeweled offer is especially one you shouldn't refuse! All solid deals for this weekend. Combine all of these games with the big releases from the week (Spy Mouse, Contre Jour, and others), and you should have plenty to play on iOS, all weekend long. Read More
Street Fighter IV Volt Gets Two New Characters
Calendar16 Wed, 27 Jul 2011 19:31:18 UTC +00:00
Posted 07/27/2011 at 11:31am | by Andrew Groen In true Street Fighter form, the expansion to the extremely popular iOS game Street Fighter IV, Street Fighter IV Volt, has received an update that will give players another two characters to choose from. Since its earliest days, the series has been renowned/reviled for re-releasing the game with incremental upgrades incessantly. In case you missed Street Fighter IV Volt when it launched, this is essentially the same game as the original Street Fighter IV iOS port. However, with one major difference: Game Center online play (as well as three new characters.) It's a big addition (that, to be fair, most other games would have included as a free update) that greatly enhances the game. This new update, however, is free and includes the new characters Sakura and Mokoto who Street Fighter fans will remember from the console version of SFIV. The original SFIV Read More
My ability to write an amusing introduction for this week's bucket full of Wednesday night game releases has been obliterated due to my mind being blown that the powers that be are still making James Pond games. Maybe it's just me, but my perception of James Pond as a video game mascot was about in line with Bubsy. In the 90's it seems like everyone and their brother in law was trying to come up with the next Mario or Sonic, and I'm really not sure any succeeded. I suppose persistence isn't a bad thing though, and you can't fault 'em for trying. I'll still play a James Pond game 21 years later! Anyway, here's how this works-- Developers are able to set specific release dates for their iOS games. Since App Store features are updated on Thursdays, it seems that's most beneficial day to release a game if you're shooting Read More
'Street Fighter IV' iOS' Price Plummets In New Capcom Sale
Calendar16 Mon, 20 Jun 2011 22:40:52 UTC +00:00
Ice T once said, “I’m on the front line, and I am a rapper.” He’s also said, “I have to grow my audience.” The latter is something most game publishers can get on board with, while the former is... well, an Ice T quote. Regardless, we see the attempts to draw more people in every single day. Why, actually, Capcom is in the thick of fleshing out its audience right now with a new sale that sees four of its most high profile titles reduced to 99 cents. Here’s the list: We’re not sure, exactly, when the sale will end or if other titles will join the mix at a later date, but it’s probably best to just be safe and gobble up these titles ASAP if you’re in the mood for any of them. Personally, I think SFIV is the best of the bunch. I played this game already on Read More
Capcom puts iOS titles on sale, post-Father's Day weekend

The great Death Rally (which, disclaimer, I'm in as a cameo) is also on sale for 99 cents, and there might be a few other sales from the weekend still poking around: Army of Darkness Defense is still free, for example. If you're interested in one of those, better grab it quick! Read More
When EA released Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 [99¢/HD] last December, it struck me as kind of a strange release. It wasn’t a direct port of the original arcade game, though it did retain the original music and sound effects. Instead it was a brand new version of that game completely redone with 3D graphics, and it also came with a healthy cut in the roster and number of arenas. The move to 3D visuals was puzzling as it somewhat alienated the fans of the original game, but at the same time they looked pretty sweet. The character models were kind of blocky, but the new 3D backgrounds looked absolutely fantastic, especially at high resolution on the Retina Display. So looking past the dramatic visual change, whether you loved it or hated it, Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 was actually a competent little fighter on the iPhone, and I wound up liking it Read More
Capcom Announces Street Fighter IV: Volt for iOS At E3
Calendar16 Wed, 08 Jun 2011 20:37:34 UTC +00:00
Street Fighter IV get a much needed multiplayer refresh. It seems like only yesterday that Capcom‘s “little fighter that could,” was announced to be coming to the iOS platform.  Masses of gamers waited patiently to learn if Street Fighter IV was the portable combat experience that would prove the iPhone and iPod Touch to be viable for hardcore fans of the genre.  We were pleasantly surprised to learn that not only did the game perform admirably, but it set the standard for how virtual joysticks should be implemented.  Both far and wide, the game was praised for its high quality production values and emphasis on precision and detailed button interactions.  This was the beginning of a new age for the Street Fighter franchise, and the first in a series of evolutions to the game on iOS. Though later on the game was updated to include several new characters, including the likes Read More
Perfection is a strong word, but Capcom isn’t shying from using it when describing Street Fighter 4: Volt, a fleshed out iPod Touch and iPhone sequel to the original Street Fighter 4 [$4.99]. Volt will feature a cast of 18 characters, and will see the addition of Wi-Fi competitive play, which was something its predecessor lacked. It’ll also, according to Capcom, offer “perfected” action with a control feature set reminiscent of the original game. Of those 18 characters, four will be new to iPhone and iPod Touch series: Balrog, Vega, and Cody will make their debut alongside a “mystery character.” If I were a betting man, I’d bet that this mystery dude is one of the four new cast members of -- Yun, Yang, Evil Ryu, or Oni. The teaser trailer revealed during E3 shows a lot of the in-game action, but it doesn’t do a great job at expressing that Read More

With the terrible earthquake and tsunami aftermath continuing to hit hard over in Japan, one can’t help but wonder what can be done help out…That’s why I love it when developers step up to do their part, especially a heavy-hitter like Capcom. On now through March 22nd, Capcom has dropped the price of Street Figher IV for iPhone to only $0.99, and they’re donating ALL of the proceeds to charities benefiting Japanese relief efforts. If you’re a hardcore gamer, buy it. Heck, even if you’re only an occasional gamer, or you don’t play games at all, throwing down a dollar will do loads of good. Not only will you get an awesome game (it really is good), you’re also supporting disaster relief in Japan. It’s a win/win situation. It may not seem like much, but from all reports sales of Street Fighter IV have been flying off the virtual shelves since Read More
Roundup of developers and apps to help Japan

Living more than 5000 miles away, it’s hard for me to imagine the tragedy that struck Japan this past week. A devastating earthquake rocked the country from top to bottom, followed by a tsunami that reached practically every Pacific Ocean coastline. Many different organizations have set up channels to offer relief to Japan, and even in our tiny iOS corner of the world two Japan-based developers are doing their part as well. Sega has dropped the price of every Sonic the Hedgehog game from now until March 20th, with 100% of the proceeds going to the Red Cross Disaster Relief in Japan. 3 of these 4 Sonic titles are emulated Genesis games, with Sonic Spinball being the one that works the best with virtual controls. Sonic 1 and Sonic 2 don’t fare as well, as they require the precision of physical controls, but honestly they work good enough to give you Read More

This week, the to be featured for the month of February, including Street Figher IV, currently #1 on the App Store (more on this later). By Jeff Scott on February 10th, 2011 All hail the new king of the App Store, Street Fighter IV! We’ve got a new champion, Street Fighter IV! By way of a price drop to $0.99, Capcom has taken over the much coveted number one overall app spot. Last I heard, this could mean $60,000 in sales per day or more. Angry Birds has fallen to number 2 currently. The first time in a while it’s been out of the top spot. How long can Street Fighter IV hold on to the number one spot? What do you think, will Angry Birds attack and get it back? Will Tetris slide its way past both to number 1? We’ll keep an eye on it. $4.99 Released: 2010-03-10 :: Category: Games Read More
Capcom, Namco, Sega Announce Big 99 Cent Game Sales
Calendar16 Thu, 10 Feb 2011 17:10:19 UTC +00:00
Posted 02/10/2011 at 9:10am | by Andrew Groen There's officially no good reason to pay more than 99 cents for any game on the App Store this month. We always thought Valentine's Day was the kind of holiday that specialized more in cheap pink teddy bears than smartphone software, but apparently we were wrong. The past couple of weeks have been positively flooded with huge iOS video game sales from major publishers, and now Sega, Capcom, and Namco are getting in on the action. Some of their very best games are included so check out the full list. Listen up, fellas and ladies, sure you could go to the shop this Valentine's Day and get your special someone a ho-hum set of bad flowers and some fluffy pink polyester that will be sure to make them feel completely average. Street Fighter news that doesn’t involve its appearance on the Nintendo 3DS is at a premium as Nintendo rushes its next handheld to market, so I’m pleased to report on this little story which involves something quite different: Street Fighter IV [$.99] for the iPod and iPhone is now being sold for under a dollar. That’s like nine bucks worth of savings for a competent fighting game on a touch screen device. Not bad, right? But, wait, there’s more savings to go around. Capcom has also slashed the prices of several of its titles to the one-dollar mark. Here’s the full list: Capcom Arcade (In-app arcade machine purchases are 99¢) Capcom notes in the new game descriptions that talk about the sales that these deals won’t “last forever,” suggesting the usual one-week kind of sale, but not really confirming the stretch the marketing folks plan to play the App Store charting Read More

When I think of Valentine’s Day I think of Cupid prancing around, shooting his arrows into people to help them fall in love, couples planning their days out with brunches, picnics, and an elegant dinner at a 5 star restaurant. Instead of staying home and being miserable watching RomComs while eating a bucket of Turkey Hill ice cream, you can stay home and celebrate your independence by playing games all weekend long. Markennamen im verspielten iOS-Garten
Calendar16 Tue, 11 Jan 2011 14:39:35 UTC +00:00
Deshalb darf man zurecht die Frage von John Gruber: “Where Are the Android Killer Apps?”

Christmas is just a day away, and with a ton of people sure to have shiny new iOS devices waiting for them under the tree there will no doubt be a lot of people looking for games to try out on their latest toy. While we'll be highlighting all of the best iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad games from 2010 in future posts, there are currently a ton of deals to be had on both new and old games alike. - We posted about this sale a few days ago, but it's worth mentioning again. Six fantastic games from independent developers, all priced at 99¢, with one third of the proceeds going to Child's Play Charity. Every game on this list is excellent, and worth owning or gifting to an iOS-toting friend or family member: - - - During the annual App Store lockdown that should last from today until next Read More
Given the incredible success of Street Fighter IV [$9.99] since its release on the App Store, I've always wondered if its 90s arcade competitor Mortal Kombat would ever grace our touch screens. Just a few days ago, it was confirmed that indeed an iOS version of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 was in the works from the folks at EA Mobile. And just like that, yesterday Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 [$6.99] was released in the App Store. I'm a diehard Mortal Kombat fan, going back to the very first release in arcades almost two decades ago. I've since owned just about every version of every Mortal Kombat game for every console over the years. I even bought and suffered through the abomination that is Mortal Kombat Advance on the GBA, so I can definitely recognize a terrible MK game when I see it. And Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 for iOS is far Read More
Alright Street Fighter fans, you've spoken loud and clear and Capcom has heeded your cries. Last month, we posted about the latest update to Street Fighter IV [$9.99] for iPhone. In this update, a brand new multiplayer mode was added that will auto-connect players into a match via Bluetooth if they are within range of each other. Also, two new playable characters were added to the roster of fighters, Sagat and Dee Jay. This is nothing new by now, as Street Fighter IV has been one of the most well supported titles in the App Store with a ton of new content and characters added in updates since the game was initially released last March. Something was different about this last update though. Sagat was available right out of the gate, but in order to unlock Dee Jay one would have had to engage in 3 Bluetooth multiplayer matches with another Read More
The Street Fighter IV update for iPhone has been uploaded to Apple’s servers, and there’s lots of goodness found within. We first told you about this one back in October, and then again I had some updated info to share last week. By the looks of things it looks like all of the features and updates we’ve mentioned have been launched in the update. It’s good stuff. There are two key updates to Street Fighter IV in this update. First is the availability of Sagat and DeeJay for regular and versus play (I was wondering who the other character was going to be, in addition to Sagat!). Second is a new Bluetooth matchmaking feature is now built-in, and it allows you to auto-connect with other players within range of your device. At the end of the day, a big *tip of the cap* has to go to Capcom. I absolutely love Read More
Read More
If you, like me, responded to the release of Smurfs' Village by saying, "Really? A freemium game from Capcom? Based on the Smurfs franchise?" then you probably want to rethink how the App Store works, because apparently it's a hit -- Smurfs' Village has topped even Angry Birds recently for the top grossing app on the App Store. The game is free-to-play, though players can buy "smurfberries" via in-app purchase that work like mojo in We Rule to speed up growth of players' crops or buildings. And those smurfberries must be selling like hotcakes, because the game is trouncing Angry Birds' millions and millions of 99-cent downloads. It'll be really interesting to see what effect this has on the market as a whole. Sega just released a freemium MMO in the form of a game called Kingdom Conquest, and EA is scheduled to do the same very soon. Capcom has been Read More
A New Challenger Approaches Street Fighter IV
Calendar16 Wed, 17 Nov 2010 16:30:44 UTC +00:00
The next update of the popular fighting game will feature the world's most-feared one-eyed fighter as well as some upgrades to local matchmaking. Owners of the iOS edition of Street Fighter IV are in for a treat, as an upcoming update of the game will add Sagat to the ever-growing list of fighters on the roster. This comes after Capcom already added Zangief, Cammy, E. Honda and C. Viper, so the app version of the title is slowly adding nearly all the characters from the console editions of the game. At any rate, fear the Tiger Uppercut! Also being included in the update is a new take on local matchmaking. Now, anytime two players who are running the game and have Bluetooth enabled get within broadcast proximity of one another the games will auto-connect in the name of some crazy multiplayer fighting. This automatic connection will make it easier for competitors Read More
For many (including myself), the Street Fighter series by Capcom is an iconic one… a series that draws back many fond memories of sitting in front of the old tube TV, thrashing away as the classic NES, and Super NES controllers. Some would consider the time spent playing these games as time wasted… For me, I’d consider it time well spent… and thankfully, the saga continues. I’ve received word that an upcoming update to Street Fighter IV for iPhone will bring more character goodness to the game, in the form of the one and only Sagat. Right on! In previous (free) updates, we’ve already seen Zangief and Cammy, plus E. Honda and C. Viper added. With that in mind, don’t be surprised if there’s another addition to the lineup in addition to Sagat. Who could it be? Time will tell. Keep an eye out for the latest update coming down the Read More
Capcom's Street Fighter IV [$9.99] is the gift that keeps on giving. First they released Zangief and Cammy as a free update, and later they added both E.Honda and C.Viper. We just got word from Capcom that this update gravy train isn't stopping anytime soon, as they just announced Sagat will be the next fighter included in the game. Also, since they've been releasing these updates with not one but two fighters each, it wouldn't surprise me at all for them to announce another character soon. In addition, the way local multiplayer works is being tweaked. From the sounds of it, whenever two devices are running the game with Bluetooth enabled as soon as they get in range of each other they will auto-connect for some multiplayer action. We thought Street Fighter IV was great in our review and it's really hard to not get behind a game that has seen Read More
Capcom Arcade Review

Posted 11/05/2010 at 12:07pm | by Ryan Rigney Capcom’s expeditions into the App Store thus far have often been port overs or re-releases of past console hits, like Street Fighter IV and Resident Evil 4. The creators of Mega Man are taking that trend one step further with the newly unveiled Capcom Arcade, a free-to-download, officially licensed emulator for retro Capcom games. For now, the only games available to play are Street Fighter II, Ghouls ‘N Ghosts, 1942, and Commando, but Capcom has promised to update the arcade with new releases each month. The arcade itself might be free, but to play these games you’ll have to use virtual tokens. Each day, you'll be alotted a few credits for free, but once those run out you’ll have to buy more or purchase the individual games outright. Unfortunately, the emulated versions offered here aren't the best way to experience these classic games. Read More

Capcom's Street Fighter IV [$9.99] not only is proving to be a fantastic fighter for the iPhone, but also one of the best supported games we've seen from big-name developers who historically haven't had that great of a track record when it comes to free content updates. We loved the game when it was first released, as evident in our review. Since then, both Cammy and Zangief have been added, and this most recent update includes E.Honda and C.Viper. Each come with two costumes, their own associated set of moves, and combos to master. Also included are some new costumes for Ryu and Chun-Li available via in-app purchase. If you haven't picked up Street Fighter IV yet, now is a fantastic time to get on board. Capcom did an amazing job adapting the controls to the touchscreen of the iPhone, the graphics look great, and you really can't argue about four Read More
E. Honda to Appear in Upcoming 'Street Fighter IV' Update
Calendar16 Thu, 09 Sep 2010 02:33:45 UTC +00:00
About a month ago, we detailed the announcement from Capcom that the female character Crimson Viper would be added to the roster of Street Fighter IV for iPhone. And as we speculated then, she won't be alone. Today they have announced that original Street Fighter II combatant E. Honda will be joining her in the forthcoming update, following the previous update that added Cammy and Zangief as playable characters. Personally this announcement has me really excited, as E. Honda marks the completion of the original cast of characters from the arcade game, and he is also one of my favorites to play with. Capcom has released some new screenshots and video of E. Honda in action (click to enlarge): And here is some gameplay video of E. Honda on the iPhone: As with the last update, this one will be free to previous owners of the game. Besides the addition of Read More
For fans of the excellent iPhone port of Street Fighter IV, you'll be happy to know that a new character is making her way to the roster. Capcom has just announced that Crimson Viper, who first made her debut as one of the four brand new characters in the Street Fighter IV franchise rebirth on arcade machines and home consoles, will be the latest addition to the iPhone conversion via a free update. This follows the previous update from Capcom that added Cammy and Zangief as playable characters, which we covered back in June, bringing the roster total to ten combatants. Here are a couple of shots of C. Viper showing off her special moves (click to enlarge): If you've been following along since the release of Street Fighter IV for iPhone, then you will remember that Capcom announced the addition of Cammy back in April, and didn't announce Zangief until Read More
Capcom and Bioware disappointed in iPhone app performance
Calendar16 Mon, 02 Aug 2010 23:00:00 UTC +00:00
We've heard a lot of interesting things from big companies on the App Store -- some of them have released games and apps with not a lot of success compared to more high-profile indie groups, while some seem to have nailed down a little bit of profit from Apple's platform. Capcom is apparently finding itself in that first group -- the company's latest financial reports state that it is fairly disappointed in the performance of its App Store titles. Resident Evil 4 sales have "increased gradually," while even more anticipated apps like Street Fighter IV and Phoenix Wright have only "achieved their projected sales." Which may be good news, but it's not exactly a glowing result for Capcom's App Store efforts. Meanwhile, EA's partner Bioware is licking its wounds from its first iPhone effort. Greg Zeschuk says that Mass Effect on the iPhone "wasn't even a mistake as much as we Read More

Back in early March of this year, a port of Street Fighter IV was released for the iPhone to much positive fanfare. The graphics and sounds were incredible, but the biggest doubt on everyone's mind leading up to release was how well the game could work with virtual touch screen controls. In the end, SFIV for iPhone turned out to be a highly playable and fun affair. Rather than the controls, the biggest complaint from gamers regarding this otherwise excellent fighter was the slim roster of characters. Featuring just 8 playable combatants (the same number of the original SFII mind you), many fan favorites from from the Street Fighter universe were notably absent. A little more than a month later, Capcom took a step to address those complaints by announcing the addition of Cammy to the roster in a forthcoming update. But the weeks passed by with no sign of Cammy, Read More

Capcom had a pretty solid E3 booth this year, showing off all kinds of highly anticipated sequels to hit console games, but they also had a few iPhone games on-hand, including a remake of the classic 1942 and Ghosts ‘N Goblins: Gold Knights II.  Capcom also showed off the two new playable characters for which will be available as a free update. 1942: First Strike – A vertical shoot ‘em up that was first released in arcades in 1984.  1942: First Strike will allow you to take to the skies on your iPhone, giving you all the tools necessary to take down swarms of enemy fighters, bombers, battleships and more. By Nigel Wood, UKfor www.touchgen.com Published: April 29, 2010 Comment         Ok, first things first. I’m sorry if I got your hopes up for an iPad version of the game… no, this is simply the iPhone edition running 2x on iPad. The reason why I’m showing you this? Well I was going through some of my iPhone games to see which ran well on iPad, and so far for me this is one of the better games, and an example of where it could be seen as a better experience on iPad. With the iPad in the Apple case and set at an angle, playing Street Fighter IV on it feels close(-ish) to playing the game on one of those arcade style joysticks you can get for consoles. The joystick is a lot bigger obviously, and so are the buttons. While having two hands free also allows for butter button Read More
Street Fighter IV On Sale For A Limited Time
Calendar16 Tue, 27 Apr 2010 18:12:47 UTC +00:00
Capcom is celebrating the launch of Super Street Fighter IV for console systems by dropping the price of Street Fighter IV for the iPhone and iPod touch by 30 percent for the next three days. Street Fighter IV is the mobile version of the popular fighting game released for consoles in 2009. The iPhone version contains assets pulled from the console version of the game that have been scaled down, resulting in very little loss of detail and color in order to give you the true Street Fighter experience. The game features on-screen controls that are fully customizable, eight memorable characters, seven environments, three game modes including local multiplayer, four levels of difficulty, and a full set of moves that should be recognizable to any Street Fighter vet. Street Fighter IV has received mostly favorable reviews from fans and press thanks to its close resemblance to the original, although some have Read More
Cammy Coming to 'Street Fighter IV' in a Free Update
Calendar16 Sat, 17 Apr 2010 17:47:36 UTC +00:00
While we were out at GDC 2010, Capcom released their iPhone version of [App Store] for the iPhone. It's a lightweight port of the highly respected arcade release that does an admirable job of putting that arcade experience in your pocket. The iPhone version delivers eight characters from the various Street Fighter titles: Abel, Blanka, Chun Li, Ryu, Bison, Dhalsim, Guile and Ken. And while this selection allows for some decently varied combat, everyone has their favorite character, and given the size of the Street Fighter universe, many saw their favorite fighter overlooked. Well, recent news from Capcom should put a smile on the face of at least some of the bereft Street Fighter fans out there. The studio will be adding one more character to the mix in a coming, free update to Street Fighter IV for the iPhone. Cammy, who was introduced in Super Street Fighter II, will soon Read More
It’s been approximately a month since Street Fighter IV was released on the iPhone and we’re already hearing about upcoming DLC. It looks like fan favorite Cammy will be joining the already solid list of 8 world warriors soon. Why is she considered a fan favorite? I’m sure you’ll understand after seeing her in action in the video below. The upcoming DLC for Street Fighter IV will be included in a free app update, instead of as an in-app purchase as most developers have been doing lately. I just hope Capcom continues to deliver free updates to Street Fighter IV such as this one as having more fighters is always more gooder.  And who knows, maybe with these continued updates the iPhone version will eventually carry the full roster of fighters from Street Fighter IV.  Only time will tell, my friends. Street Fighter IV in Review – How’re-you-Ken!?

When I first heard that Street Fighter IV was coming to the App Store, I was less than enthusiastic. Ever since SF2 on the SNES, I have been a big fan of the series. I wept with joy when I purchased Alpha 3. I shook with disbelief after I purchased EX3. And suddenly, Capcom announces that it’s porting perhaps its most beloved franchise (apologies to Dr. Light, Jill Valentine and Dante) to the iDevice. Feel free to discuss this review of Street Fighter IV in our forums. You may find yourself saying “Why wouldn’t this be a sure-fire hit?” Cast your memory back to Capcom’s port of Mega Man II. It’s all about the Controls. In short, the Mega Man II controls are horrible. With terrible controls and character response (Mega Man’s jumps seemed to indicate a helium enema), each pit or spike strip becomes a boss in and of itself. Read More

You can now test your fighting prowess using the iPhone as the arena with Capcom's new release of Street Fighter IV. Street Fighter IV was most recently released for the iPhone. The game first appeared in arcades and consoles proving that the fighter genre hadn't lost it's touch. It wowed gamers with some awesome graphics and a refined control scheme. The iPhone version is attempting to match the success of its big brother by offering a full-scale fighting experience complete with special moves, tournament play, and a decent roster of the signature characters found in the series. The game is handled solely by the onscreen buttons and joystick which will immediately turn off hardcore players. It's not as responsive as a controller, naturally, but the gameplay was still smooth. There are a few different modes to play through in the game. As a solo player, you can join a tournament against all the computer players, do some free sparring against a computer, enter the dojo to learn new techniques, or enter the Read More

The answer lies in the heart of the battle...

Capcom has made your dreams come true today by announcing the immediate availability of Street Fighter IV to Apple’s App Store. Capcom is widely known as a leading developer and publisher of video games the world over, with their popular Street Fighter games being among them. Now, the gaming company has rebuilt the hotly anticipated Street Fighter IV from the ground up to take full advantage of the iPhone OS platform, while remaining true to the legendary series’ high-action arcade roots. Street Fighter IV brings eight classic characters from the blockbuster console version, including Ryu, Chun Li, Able, Blanka, M. Get your tissues ready, gamers, because you're about to cry some big, sloppy tears of joy. Picture this: Capcom's Street Fighter IV. In your pocket. . That's right, Street Fighter IV has hit the iPhone with the fury of one of Ryu's dragon punches. I know what you're thinking, though: can this port possible look good and be playable? Yes, yes it can. While the graphics obviously aren't up to par with the arcade version of the game, they're decidedly on the high end of pretty iPhone games. SFIV runs smoothly (on the 3GS, anyway. I can't vouch for the experience on earlier iPhone models), and the stripped-down controls handle surprisingly well. The character list includes Ken and Ryu, obviously, as well as other classic favorites like Blanka, Chun Li, and Guile. I would have liked to see a few more of the new characters, though.
