We are very different than other online social or dating networks. Instead of having you sit at home in front of a computer, trawling through photos of people that you have nothing in common with, we do the searching for you – based on what you tell us you are looking for. And we do this in real-time. When you are out and about, living your life!
We only show you a person if there’s a reason for a match (we call this a ‘Spark’).
We show you how far away they are and the reasons for the Spark.
If you both ‘Ignite’ the Spark, you will get to know more about each other. And decide whether you want to chat or meet up.
But if you don’t want to, you can ‘Extinguish’ the Spark. And go on your way. It’s as simple as that.
We have different categories of matches – you turn them on or off depending on your mood.
For more matches, choose ‘Instant Spark’.
For less, but more specific matches, choose ‘Eternal Flame’.
If you’re just here to make friends, choose ‘Common Interests’.
More match types coming soon – including ‘Familiar Strangers’
And we also open up great places you’ll want to hang out in. We call these StreetSpark HotSpots.
At these venues you will receive discounts (think: 2 for 1 drinks!) and be able to meet other StreetSpark members.
We will also start hosting events (all free!) at HotSpots soon.

We’re not just for singles – anyone who wants to meet new people with things in common can use the network.
In any busy, fun city, there are literally hundreds of people you haven't met yet but should.
We created StreetSpark to increase the opportunities for these paths to cross. Or maybe they already have but you just don't know it. Either way, StreetSpark will let you know. The more people who join, the more this will happen – so tell your friends!
In Summary –
-We are currently totally Free. No cost to sign up or Chat (or to do anything!). No credit cards. Even the discounts at HotSpots are free!

-Security – we never share any contact information. All communication is done over our secure network – so no one will see your email address or anything else (we don’t require a phone number).
-Your exact location is never revealed – just a distance away. If you want to meet up it’s up to you to divulge this information. And you can ‘Extinguish’ anyone at any time – they will never see you on the network again. You can also turn your matches off – and no one will see where you are.
-You don’t need to run a search ever again - we do the searching for you! You tell us the type of person you’re looking to meet. We show you when they’re nearby…
-You only need to fill out your profile (and a profile for your perfect match) once – after that we will search for you whenever you want us to – automatically! Note: It’s faster and easier to fill out your profile on the Website than on the iPhone.
-We don’t show you everyone on the network - we only show ‘Sparks’ of those who have a match with you. This saves you time in searching for matches and lets you know when there’s a match near by – in real time.
-No fakes! We monitor our site and remove all spammers.
