This game has some major benefits and some very major detractors. After loading and playing it 3 times on my phone, I will never likely load it up again unless changes are made. Until then I wasted 10 bucks.

The Game looks great, but performs poorly. The motions controls are terrible. Devs should learn from this game to enable some sort of calibration. Hopefully an update will fix the issue. Stay away from this for now until it is updated.

I'm extremely disappointed with the way SMB turned out. The game looks and sounds incredible but the controls are sub-par. Getting a grasp on this thing is nearly impossible and a major turn-off. Don't waste your money.

After all the hype, I expect great things. Instead I got a game that is too hard to control (with no setting to adjust tilt sensitivity). Is there a way to get my money back?

I did a lot of gaming when I was a kid. I own a Wii now, so I'm usually pretty good with motion sensor controlled games, but I couldn't play past the 7th board (of 100s), and I don't think I'll ever open up the app ever again. $10 TOTALLY WASTED.

This is a great game but HARD!! Because of the accelerometer any slight movement moves the ball and, once going one way, the perspective changes and you have to immediately turn the phone to keep it on course. You'll see what I mean when you play it. With some practice I'm sure I'll get over it but it looks like some frustration for a while

Granted this is one of the first games for the iphone/touch (offline games). And it's spectacular. At $9.99 it's a fair price (compare to DS/PSP other mobile games) and you've got a winner! Finally something useful to do with the iPhone when offline besides music/video. For example... sitting on a plane you can have some fun instead of updating your contacts. Again. It's definitely intuitive, but using the accelorometer (sp?) will take some getting used to and finesse. Definitely a must have for iPhone/Touch owners. And kudos to Sega for delivering such quality so early. Looking forward to more titles!

Though it took me a little getting used to the sensitive accelerometer-guided steering, this is a very intuitive game. It's an understatement to say the graphics are beyond anything I've ever seen on a phone, and this breaks ground for an exciting new class of games and applications. Gameplay is addictive though frustrating in the first few levels as you learn how to guide the Super Monkey Ball. At under $10, you owe it to yourself to test this game by SEGA, if not for a fun way to spend a few minutes here and there, it certainly offers a glimpse into the future of (mobile) gaming.

This is an awesome attempt and the graphics and everything are great, but the controls seem to be too tight.

I was skeptical but it was worth every penny.

It's a good, entertaining game. Great graphics. My only problem is that the controls are VERY difficult to understand and get the hang of. There needs to be some sort of sensitivity setting or something, or some way to calibrate it to how you normally hold it. Fix it, Sega!

I've tried everything, uninstalled and re-installed multiple times. powered off my iPhone and back on again. Nothing, no errors during install. Click on the icon on my iPhone, the logo shows for a few seconds and then just quits. VERY disappointed that I can't get this working.

Super monkey ball is great and worth the money

The graphics are amazing and this game would be so much fun except the monkey is almost impossible to control. The accelerometer does not work at all in getting the monkey to go which way you want him to.

First of all, this review is coming from someone who played and loved Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz on the Wii. I am also using an iPod Touch to play. This game is absolutely worth $10, and here's why.

This game would be really fun if the controls were not frustrating. Game doesn't include instructions on how you are supposed to hold phone which would help lower the learning curve.

Believe me... I love games and am usually very good at them, but after trying for hours, I just can't get past level 7 of world 1 because of bad accelerometer controls... It's way too sensitive. You tilt it slightly and your character flies off the edge in a FALL OUT... I would hold off on buying until they fix it.

I hope someone from Sega is reading these posts. I am not the only one that is having trouble enjoying this game. The controls are too sensitive on the 1st gen iPhone. I've tried for hours to get the "right touch" and it's not controllable. You barely tilt the iPhone and the monkey moves drastically along with the environment /background. I hope they issue a fix soon.

This should definatley be the first app everyone gets in the APP STORE!. It really lives up to the hype with 110 levels of monkey rolling madness!

If you're looking for a game to show off the accelerometer in iPhone then nothing beats the monkey. If you want something playable for more than a few mins you might look elsewhere. The controls make all play extremely difficult and by the seventh level I would say near impossible

I was very excited about this game coming out and it was the first one I purchased on my iPhone, but I was kind of disappointed. The slightest movement of the phone causes the monkey ball character to fly off the side of the playing field. I wish their was a demo to play before purchasing these games! Save the ten bucks, this is too hard!

Ok, I am not complaining cause the game is too hard. I'm complaining cause the program acts very laggy in response to your tilts and stuff. It's seconds behind which kinda makes it unfun (it doesn't feel like you are tilting the world vs. trying to get a computer to respond to your inputs). If you want a similar but much more fun game, try Manic Marble. It's hard (which is good cause you only get four levels which is why I tried this game that came with more) but the controls are much more responsive and it is much more fun. I thought maybe people were right that the people complaining about the control on this game just weren't good at it but I found I wish I had listened to them and not wasted the money (and maybe spent the money on the non free version of Manic Marble (which has a free version so you can try for yourself to see how much better the controls are). There's a difference between being frustrated cause something is too hard and frustrated cause you feel like you are not doing well cause the computer is not responding to your input. I wouldn't even say this game is frustrating more than just not fun.

This game is very fun and addicting. I always play Racing live and than I have to wait until stuff refills... Now I have stuff to do when I'm waiting. This game is totally worth the money that it's at now so I say buy this gameThe graphics are good, there's 100 levels ( I think ) so this game is in my top 5 apps. I have the iPod touch and it's kinda hard to control it but I'm getting the Han of it now so it just makes it more challenging for me. Overall this is a great game and the price is just right.

The game is amazing. Good graphics, good levels, great music, etc... I have played more than 2/3rds of the boards, and am not complainging that the game itself is too hard. Just that the controls are terrible. The over-sensitivity is a problem that MANY people have complained about. Instead of fixing this issue, Sega insists that they know best, and proceed to update the app again and again without making the controls less sensitive. Very frustrating. If you want a fun game, this is it. But understand that the controls are not optimum. Prepare to be patient with them. This would easily be a five star app if the controls were not so sensitive. Once you get the hang of it, it is fun. However, because it only takes a very slight over-correction to lose control, just the smallest over-tilt, and you completly lose your handle. Then you have to take a few moments to get it tilted back to center. The difference in movement between too far, and just right is barely perceptable. I suppose it shows off just how sensitive the iPhone accelerometer is, but not good for gaming. That said, I will keep playing it. But I pleed with Sega to listen to their users, and have the good sense to give us what we want. Either make the darn thing less sensitive or allow us to do it ourselves. Then the literally several hundred comments on the Internet about how the controls are not callibrated very well, will go away, and your users will be much happier.

Great game but for next update please add an accelerometer calibration button because right now to i need to hold my touch at like a 45 degree angle to make the game flat. I would really like to fix this problem

I bought this game when it was like $10 and I still think it is worth the price, you need to get used to the controls but they are very good. The farthest I have gotten is level 13 on space case, which is a very diificult level but all in all this is a great game and I reccomend it to anyone especially for $6.  and

Ok... I LOVE Super Monkey Ball... but the update they just posted is to market their other applications..... Not to add new levels, Not to add a new camera mode... to Market their other products. Wow Sega. Wow.

Game is the best. Update with more levels because I beat it in like a day. Still my fav game
