Come on now...

For whatever reason, I’ve always had a place in my heart for tank games. So, when Tankz was released with its 3D graphics and hover tank battle theme, I jumped at it. And, it’s safe to say that if you’re looking for a 360-degree, action-oriented game with smooth graphics, Tankz will more than exceed your expectations.

Fun, I thought I'd snap my iphone in half, it gets intense. I like the graphical simplicity. I know "unique" is such a played out word, but I promise alot of the elements of this game are. I like the regeneration pads, and the jump pads you can use to jump to another ground level or to just get closer to a flag or escape enemies-clever. Your "tank" is actually an artillery hovercraft, and get this: it allows for instant 360 degree movement of your war machine. Fairly standard enemies are present, gun towers, a standard cannon "tank" and one that rams you incessantly while laying proximity mines. There are two game modes being time based and score based (Internet leaderboards in play). There are east and hard modes as well for the three large and varied "arenas". All gameplay is based around collecting flags. It's a good buy and 5 stars is what I say considering I've had no crashes, the game IMO is even better than the dev describes it on it's store page. Also considering it's a buck, he'll yeah.

Getting used to the controls takes a little bit of time, but once you do the game is very fun. There are different tanks and maps with different terrain. The tank bots are pretty smart too. Graphics are smooth and sound is very nice, especially with ear buds on.

They were an advanced civilization that developed sophisticated hover technology but were wiped out by invading armies because they did not give their soldiers an opportunity to learn how to drive their tanks before teleporting them into the heat of battle. Historians agree that had they a training ground, they would have created a five star fighting force. Update: OK I learned to drive and find that the leopard tank on the ice field is less frustrating, and pretty fun. Tank should have a protection for a few seconds when spawned, cuz there's nothing you can do about it when you just appear and are hit! Also, add more weapons, add some fast rotate buttons on opposite side, and replace boring, pointless, frustrating stationary flags that are too hard to keep from sliding past. Instead make the mission to rescue downed pilots who run toward you to be rescued, making gameplay more interesting, smoother, and more fun, and have a story..

Lovely game, with great potential if the developer issues updates. As it stands now the game is more of a concept than an actual game. Tankz certainly needs more developement to it than it currently stands. For instance when a target is hit the reticule should turn red to signal to the user the target has been hit. And the targets should show some sort of damage (such as smoke) to notify the user the enemy target is weakening. And it would be nice if ammunition could be collected by proximity. Another thing missing is power ups in the form of drops or, preferably, power ups that could be bought and the Tankz continually upgraded. A story line would be nice as well. Lastly, multi-player would down right wicked. :-) All in all, Tankz is a great game and worth the purchase price of a buck. We can only hope for jaw dropping updates to complete the concept game of Tankz.

This is an amazing game and time killer if your bored but after the new update the rocket button destroys my tank.

Doesn't look like it should be running on an iPod, but it does. Without any framerate issues too! 

I got this game while it was an earlier version and now it is better than ever! The only downfall was that the x10 assult would self-destruct when you launch a missle in first person mode. Fix that and this is the greatest shooting game ever!

This is an awesome game. More fun than I had anticipated.

If you like to destroy things with thanks than this is the game for you.
