When I think of Valentine’s Day I think of Cupid prancing around, shooting his arrows into people to help them fall in love, couples planning their days out with brunches, picnics, and an elegant dinner at a 5 star restaurant. I also think of the rest of you poor bastards who say that you’re fine with being single and you prefer your independence rather than reporting in with someone on everything you do, but let’s face it, you just haven’t found the right person yet. Instead of staying home and being miserable watching RomComs while eating a bucket of Turkey Hill ice cream, you can stay home and celebrate your independence by playing games all weekend long. If playing some fine iOS games is your idea of a good time, then you’ve come to the right place as a both EA Mobile and Gameloft have dropped the prices of their iOS Read More

After seeing a ton of success with their massive holiday 99¢ sale, the folks at EA Mobile are once again going on a discount binge. While not quite as extensive as that previous sale, a number of EA titles have temporarily dropped to 99¢ as part of an "I  ♥ 99¢ Sales" sale. Check out the following list of discounted games which are directly linked to the App Store: iPhone/iPod touch games: iPad games: The sale is said to run for 48 hours, so make sure and grab whatever you like while it's currently discounted. We'll keep our eyes on AppShopper.com to see if any new titles are added to this sale, as several new games were added to the sale just as I've been working on this post. Also, there's still a load of EA titles that are still 99¢ from their last big sale, so it may be worth Read More
The Great Electronic Arts 99¢ Sale of 2010
Calendar16 Thu, 16 Dec 2010 12:23:29 UTC +00:00
It seems like whenever a holiday rolls around in the US, all of the major developers put their catalog of iOS games on sale in an effort to ride a wave of publicity into the top app charts. Electronic Arts is no stranger to this practice, and in observance of a very special holiday this Winter they have dropped a huge number of their games down to 99¢. Yes, that's right, EA is having a sale to celebrate forum moderator ImNoSuperMan's birthday. Just kidding. It's a Christmas sale. Or rather, a "Holiday" sale. Whatever the politically correct reason for this event is, the bottom line is that you can get a ton of EA games for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad for just a dollar each right now. (Note that some of these titles actually launched at 99¢, or have been that price for a while, but have been added to Read More
Happy Thanksgiving – Here Are a TON of Games on Sale
Calendar16 Thu, 25 Nov 2010 11:04:08 UTC +00:00
Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays, and has been all my life. What's there not to love about an entire day revolving around eating massive amounts of turkey, stuffing, and all the other fixings? Sure, I could do without needing to feign interest in football, but thankfully tryptophan overload usually allows me to sleep through all of that. If you're looking for something to do this year while you do your best to either pretend to be interested in football or anxiously wait for the food to be done, there are a ton of sales on the App Store to consider. The basis of this post comes from SirAwesome's awesome thread in our new price drops, freebies, and deals forum. He put together an extremely exhaustive listing of everything that's on sale, and the thread is good to stop by just to make sure you're not missing anything that might Read More

If you’re a fan of receiving free candy or for cleaning off an absurd amount of toilet paper off your front lawn, then you’ll know that Halloween is nearly upon us. Most people celebrate Halloween by paying money to go to places for the sole purpose of possibly getting frightened, walking with their children to complete strangers homes in order to get a treat, or keeping all of their lights off in order to avoid wave after wave of trick-or-treaters. If the last example sounds like your kind of Halloween, then why not take advantage of the big Halloween sales a number of iOS game publishers are offering for this weekend only? Playing on your iDevice of choice would certainly keep strangers from knowing you’re home, so give it a try! by Game-maker Electronic Arts (EA) is selling a big chunk of its iPhone game library for just $0.99 per game for the next 48 hours — a steep discount for many of its titles which include Madden NFL 2010, FIFA 10 and SimCity. Not all of EA’s games are on sale, though. Sure, SimCity is $0.99, but [iTunes link] is still a steep $6.99, and while FIFA 2010 is just $0.99, the more timely [iTunes link] hangs at $2.99 — though that’s not a bad price, either. EA is one of the world’s biggest game publishers. Its EA Sports line of games is at the top of the heap, and franchises like The Sims, Mass Effect and Medal of Honor have at one time or another led in sales or influence. Increasingly, the company has extended those franchises to mobile devices like the iPhone. The full list of games on sale Read More

EA Holding Massive $0.99 Sale for 48 Hours
Calendar16 Tue, 22 Jun 2010 14:04:00 UTC +00:00
EA is holding a massive $0.99 sale on over a dozen titles. The sale will only last 48 hours, so you have to act quickly. The games have been nicely organized by niezam into games that have never been $0.99 before, and ones that have (U.S. Links): $.99 for the first time $.99 once or several time before While all the games are good values for only $0.99, we'd probably say Need for Speed: Shift is the "must get" game from the list. It has frequently been cited as one of the best racing games for the iPhone, so it's a good one to have. So, I wrote iTunes (reported a problem) when I received my bill. And even though the game's info says that it's in English, and it's not, I was told that there is nothing that they can do for me, that the 'functionality of the game is Read More

Review: Electronic Arts The Game of Life Classic Edition
Calendar16 Fri, 14 Aug 2009 18:36:00 UTC +00:00
Company: Electronic Arts Players: One-Four Price: $5 Compatible: iPod touch, iPhone/3G/3GS Editor-in-Chief, iLounge Published: Friday, August 14, 2009 Category: Games - iPad, iPhone + iPod Back when Electronic Arts had released 2-D Click Wheel iPod versions of several Hasbro table games, including Yahtzee, we became concerned that the company might have gone to the old board game well too many times. Then came iPhone OS 2.0 and the App Store, which EA has used for an increasingly impressive series of board game ports with 3-D graphics, the latest of which is The Game of Life Classic Edition ($5). It's based upon the nearly 150-year-old Milton Bradley game, and though it's branded as "classic," it actually takes cues from versions released from the 1980's to the mid-2000's. Those unfamiliar with this game, also known as LIFE, can understand it easily as a turn-based, highly simplified exploration of life events: two, three, or Read More
The Game of Life
Calendar16 Sun, 21 Feb 2010 06:20:23 UTC +00:00
The Game of Life is more than just a metaphor for your existence, it's also one of the best-selling board games of all time. The game originated in the 60's focusing on playing a game about life. Well now the iPhone version has been released and much has changed since then. The game is set in the 3D version of the board game with animated events. It plays very similar to the board game though there are some differences. Players can choose to play a single game against up to 4 computer players or they can share their device with up to 4 different friends. Right from the beginning players must pick either college or a career, but can later return to night school if they want. As you spin and move around the board, your car will fill with money, a spouse, and even children. The graphics were decent in Read More
25 iPhone Games That Should Rock on the iPad
Calendar16 Thu, 04 Feb 2010 22:53:02 UTC +00:00
Posted 02/04/2010 at 2:53pm | by Andrew Hayward Apple's iPad announcement event didn't put an especially large focus on the gaming possibilities of the new device, but what was shown demonstrated how easily developers can modify current iPhone and iPod touch apps with just a brief time investment. We've already seen how updated versions of N.O.V.A. and Need for Speed: Shift will take advantage of the iPad, but it got us thinking -- how might some of the other best-selling or beloved iPhone games use the iPad's updated features to enhance the existing experience? Here's our list of 25 games we'd love to see enhanced for the iPad, but if you have your own dream app upgrade in mind, be sure to let us know in the comments! We love swapping Bejeweled 2's shimmering gems on our Macs, but we also dig the tactile feeling of actually flipping the gems in Read More
The Game of Life Review: Fun, Life, One Roll At A Time
Calendar16 Sun, 10 Jan 2010 06:13:39 UTC +00:00
According to the movie Forrest Gump, ‘Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what your gonna get.’ Luckily for those with The Game of Life you can choose your path in life, from a big career to having a family. Its all in your hands. The Game of Life ($4.99) I have never heard of a board game called The Game of Life, but after playing this game I am really tempted to go and find one. Basically the Game of Life is an adventure board game where you have to travel from a starting point to the end point in the game. The game is in a full 3D environment, which is quite spectacular and looks a heap better than any of their other previous board games made. For once this game is playable in single player mode, as all their board games are, but this one Read More

EA Games hits hard on December 22nd, bringing out a total of 24 games on sale, while the Appvent Calender offers up "Sponge Dude." Christmas is quickly approaching, and sadly, so is the end of many of these deals. But don’t despair yet, because the sales just keep rolling in. Namco just kicked off their “winter sale” yesterday, and EA is back in the game, too! At least this is a nice surprise from EA! EAMobile just sent out two tweets saying, “The following titles will be up to 50% off for the rest of the holiday season! Happy Holidays everyone! Boggle, Madden 10, NBA Live, Rock Band, Surviving High School, Wolfenstein RPG, American Idol, and more!” “And more?” Shockingly, that “and more” includes the likes of Scrabble, Tetris, and Need for Speed: Shift. Mysteriously, some titles that were supposed to stay at $0.99 ’til Christmas are now at higher prices Read More

Friday, December 11th brings us two great sales from EA Games, as well as a nifty snowboarding game from the Appvent Calender. EA Games has given us a great gift in preparation for the weekend: we have not one, but two great franchises on sale for $0.99. Both Boggle and Life have had their prices slashed to just under a dollar, while the Appvent Calender is featuring Crazy Snowboard, a 3D snowboarding game from eZone. I looked at Life myself a few months ago, and it’s a great port of the classic board game. Almost every element makes the transition well, from the spinner to the colorful graphics to the fortunate and unfortunate events that happen to your poor character. Playing board games solo can be a lonely experience, but Life’s AI’s are competent and you can fast-forward through their turns; on the other hand, if you actually have a group Read More
The classic board game, The Game of Life, is today’s EA 25 Games ‘Til Xmas sale deal. The Game of Life is a digital 3D version of the classic board game you grew up with. The game features touch-based controls for spinning the wheel, and the ability to play with up to three other friends via pass and play. If you are a fan of EA’s other iPhone and iPod touch board games, this one should be a no-brainer to pick up. We have an in-depth review of The Game of Life available if you would like to learn more. vinyl313 2.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
Gameplay is fun but it gets if there's no one in the room to play with. There is no online or wifi play. Hold off buying this game till they include that.
I agree that it is very good, but...
Alanthecomposer 1.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
This is another example of EA not quite finishing the product. As with Yahtzee, there is no WiFi play. Yet for some reason, there is on Monopoly, which looks equally as graphic intensive. I'm downgrading this because of laziness, since they are perfectly capable of including the feature.
meh

Long term investments
Gameoflifelover 4.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
To get long term investments, before you spin, click on your player, then select your player again, and and flick the screen from the bottom to the top (scroll down) untill you see an empty box that is the color of your car press it and select a number that you want for your long term investment. Press ok. You have a long term investment!

I was thrilled to see they offered this application. However, a few kinks need to still be worked out. There aren't many options for car colors, people, or houses. Also, you can't buy insurance. I the game is really fun, but it needs a few more updates before I would recomend buying it for $5.
Excellent work!!!

This app is very cool. I like the fact that I have some control over the spinners ultimate landing point. The animations are entertaining and the gameplay is very fun.
One of the best games on iPhone and iPod touch

Game lasts 3 minutes.
Improvement Needed
Chicken Noodle Doodle 4.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
The game of life is really fun but seriously, for $5 you should update it more often. Also you should be able to customize your character with different hair, clothes, names, etc. It needs improvement but generally speaking it's a pretty cool app.
Needs update
Ping pong ultimate unleashed 1.0 stars Version: 1.0.0

Redhook42 1.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
Awful!  if you are craving the occasional game of life, go buy the board game. This is not worth 5$. Very dissapointed
Great game!
Michelleeeh 4.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
I've always loved this game so I'm so glad it came out :) :) it's great but I wish it was more like how the computer game is and I wish they had more characters to chose from. Other than that it's so much fun and great to play with a friend
Waste of $$$$$
Hot(babe)$&cute!!!!' 1.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
Worst game ever boring as hell! When you play solo, the dumb computer spins more than you and I would only get one step for every 5 spins the computer would do also it's not even that long within 30 minutes I was done , not even worth the $$4.99, maybe not even half, so boring and so mad, I really feel like crying, 5 dollars down the drain.
Fun the first couple of times......
SpiceyNYC 3.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
Love this game and had to have it. It's a lot of fun the first few times but the game is over quick. It also lacks wi-fi multiplayer. Not worth $5 in my opinion. Needs some upgrades before spending that. If monopoly has wi-fi why can't life?
Good. I guess
MakeBetterGames 3.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
It's what I remember, it's a fun game. But it doesn't last very long and when you're done with your first game you ask yourself , "really?" this game is proof you don't get much unless it's more than 20mb. It needs more of something. More decisions, more consequences, more value. Worth $5 if you've got it to spare and you want to reminisce once or twice. Get monopoly instead.
Needs To Be Longer!
JennEqualsStellar 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
That, And Customizable Players!

Sabrina Sabrina 2.0 stars Version: 1.0.0

Biscuits12345 3.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
It's fun and all, but it gets boring very quickly......add mini games or something else. Right now, it is defintley NOT 5$.....I wish I could say more...
Were's the game?!?
Virtuoso1231 2.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
The game is nothing like any other versions and has no containce. All you do is spin a wheel and pick from the occasional random opption. Don't buy this! It IS a dissapiontment!
