5 Useful iPad Apps for Doctors, Patients and Med Students
Calendar16 Mon, 16 Jan 2012 17:22:24 UTC +00:00
by The days are gone when a doctor walked into a patient’s room and grabbed the paper chart at the end of his bed to check his medical history. iPads and tablet computing have revolutionized the way many companies do business, and the medical field is no different. The sharp, intuitive displays and interactive content of tablets naturally make doctor’s visits a more collaborative process. Currently, a competitive market is emerging for both software and hardware companies. Recently Apple hired a director of medical marketing, so it’s game on in this burgeoning sector. Plus, with $44,000 available in economic stimulus incentives via the HITECH Act, it’s no surprise that doctors are beginning to make the switch to digital. Here’s a look at some apps that are being used in doctor’s offices and hospitals around the U.S. Have you seen any cool apps being used by your doctor that we missed? Share Read More
iPad 2 Commercial – Learn
Calendar16 Mon, 05 Sep 2011 14:57:52 UTC +00:00
Apple’s recent iPad 2 commercial displays many great uses for the iPad other than games and web browsing. The iPad can be a great learning tool for both kids and adults. With my oldest son just beginning homeschooling, we plan to use the iPad along with other teaching tools. There are many apps other than the ones shown in this commercial that can be used for learning. Do you have a favorite that’s not listed here? Please share in the comments! Apps from the commercial: TED: TED presents talks from some of the world’s most fascinating people: education radicals, tech geniuses, medical mavericks, business gurus and music legends. Find more than 900 TEDTalk videos (with more added each week) on the official TED app — now for both iPad and iPhone. Read More

Excellent Application!
Oric77 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Each image is displayed in vivid detail and looks great on the iPad. I would recommend adding the layer/cutting tool that is available is in the Muscle Application in a future update. It would be nice to view the Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in it's own layer unobstructed by the other ligaments. Usability might be enhanced by displaying all ligaments in one or more layers/cuts instead of viewing them as alternate views.
Impressive

I am a medical student and heard about your apps from an instructor of mine.I just recently bought your muscle application for iPad and this one. I love them. They have already helped me so much. I used them to study for my midterm exam last night and I received the best grade I've had yet. Thank you so much.

Dr Isham 5.0 stars Version: 1.1
I am a anatomy lecturer and this is a amazing app - i highly recommend it to my students for learning the bones of the skeleton - I love the way you can zoom into any bone and rotate it - and see the different views of bones - although it does not use a true 3D model - its even better as the images are amazing and the detail is second to none. The quiz is really interactive - it asks the user to zoom in and fine a particular bone or bin part - fantastic for testing your skills. I also love the way you can choose an item from the index and the app will atomically go and find by zoom in and rotating the bone to show you where it is located. There was another commented that its not very interactive or intuitive - this could not be further from the truth - try the free iphone head and neck version for yourself as I did first - and although the head and neck version is noway as good as the full version especially the pad version - it will show you how good it is. So so
RachemRocks 3.0 stars Version: 1.1
This app is extremely informational but not very intuitive. But for $20, I would expect a lot more interaction and graphics. Perhaps the information is worth the price for some people, but I expected an app, not a book.
Awesome
docintraining 5.0 stars Version: 1.1
I bought the iPhone version which I love. But the graphics on this are unbelieveable on the iPad. What a great way to learn- Absolutely recommend it to anyone that is studying anatomy or wants a top class reference tool.
