Free Cloud Sync Coming to Things for iPhone and iPad
Calendar16 Thu, 21 Jul 2011 16:00:21 UTC +00:00
The team at Cultured Code, makers of the popular task manager for iOS called “Things,” has announced that cloud sync is finally coming to the Things for iPhone and iPad apps. Things has been one of the premiere GTD (Getting Things Done) apps in the App Store for a long time, but one sorely missed feature has been wireless syncing between Things on the Mac, iPhone and iPad. Cultured Code has announced that invites to start beta testing cloud sync on iOS will be sent out starting August 22. Cloud sync will also be included for Things customers at no additional charge… “It turns out that the hard work of making our solution scalable has paid off – our sync service has gracefully handled this increasing traffic – and with usage data on hand from this large group, we can also now confirm that there will be no need to charge for the service. ToDo-App: ‘The Hit List’ mit Sync-Abo
Calendar16 Thu, 07 Jul 2011 09:26:36 UTC +00:00
Sherlocked?
Calendar16 Wed, 29 Jun 2011 03:43:37 UTC +00:00
By Rene Ritchie, Tuesday, Jun 28, 2011 | Apple’s iOS 5 built-in a lot of new, basic functionality previously filled by 3rd party App Store apps, which effectively “Sherlocked” those apps, rendering them redundant in a post-iOS 5 world. Or did it? There’s a world of difference between basic functionality that serves the needs of only the most casual user, and advanced functionality with enough control and features to satisfy a hardcore pro. What Apple did with iOS 5, as with previous generations of iOS, is take away the entry-level business of several prominent 3rd party apps, but still left them with the premium, higher order market. While it’s always dangerous creating an enterprise based on glaring functionality holes Apple will almost certainly fill at some point in the future, there’s just as much opportunity building a great product that Apple’s entry into the space can benefit. Sure that sounds awesome in theory, but the bosses said we were being lazy, that we needed to put our animals away and get back to work. By the way, they picked the MacBook Air. Things Cloud Sync now being developed at “FULL SPEED”
Calendar16 Fri, 19 Nov 2010 19:26:06 UTC +00:00
I won’t speculate too much on this image taken from Cultured Code’s Arrivals page, but it certainly seems like good news for users of the Things task manager on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. We’ve been waiting for over-the-air (cloud) syncing for a number of months now, so it’s good to see its status set to FULL SPEED (it was previously something set to “en route”, I think). Read More

By Leanna Lofte, Sunday, Jul 18, 2010 | How does an audio visual coordinator use his iPad to get the job done and what iPad apps help get him through his day? TiPb’s iPad at work contest aims to bring you just such slices of the iPad life. Here’s Aaron’s answer and as a small token of thanks we’re sending him a $20 iTunes gift certificate. If you want to see your name up on the TiPb home page and get a gift certificate all your own, head on over to the TiPb iPad Forum and share your story now! Producteev Launches API for Task Managing Apps
Calendar16 Tue, 13 Jul 2010 11:00:00 UTC +00:00
Producteev, the up-and-coming task management service which launched the newest version of its service earlier this month, just launched its first API. With this release, developers can now make use of Producteev's scheduling back-end to create their own online, desktop and mobile front-ends for Producteev or integrate the service into their existing apps. The company is also launching a developer contest, with a cash prize of $2500 for the winning app and $1000 for the runner-up. According to Producteev's CEO Ilan Abehassera, the company wants to enable the developer community to "build their dream task management app for whatever it is they are using today." Producteev itself is already using the API in all of its tools, including the company's iPhone app, IM clients and upcoming desktop applications. As we noted in our review of the latest version of Producteev last month, the service takes on a number of established task Read More
Review: Powermat Wireless Charging System for iPhone
Calendar16 Fri, 18 Jun 2010 18:19:09 UTC +00:00
The Powermat fits right in with the habits you’ve already formed. You probably set your iPhone down on your desk when it’s not in use, and setting the iPhone down on a Powermat is no different — except for the part where it begins to wirelessly recharge your device.  It’s the same kind of magic technology that electric toothbrushes and the Palm Pre’s Touchstone use, and it isn’t a gimmick. I spend a lot of time at my computer desk, and I’ve been surprised at the way my habits have changed, simply because I can charge while untethered, and pick the iPhone up whenever I want to. iPhone 3G/S only Before I get into the meat of the review, it should be stated that the review unit I received is for the iPhone 3G/S only. It won ‘t work for the iPhone 4 or any other iOS devices. The case is built Read More
Takenlijst Toodledo uitgebreid met notities
Calendar16 Mon, 14 Jun 2010 10:46:11 UTC +00:00
Vandaag is versie 2.0 uitgekomen Read More

Nine iPhone task managers to get you organized
Calendar16 Wed, 26 May 2010 22:48:30 UTC +00:00
I keep sticking with the same combo as Frank. I use ToDo on iphone and ipad syncing to and thru Toodledo. I use Jott and email to feed ToDo. I also use Notebook (also from Appigo) as a note/data keeper/db. It integrates well with iPhone ToDo and Toodledo. Josh Gard I’ve been using Remember The Milk (Pro account) since last fall, after switching from Toodledo. For me to consider a task manager app, it must have a web interface and must be able to sync over the air. In addition, be able to send me push alerts to my iPhone on a per-task basis (ie. some recurring tasks I don’t need alerts for but I still track them on my task list, other important one-off tasks I want push alerts for). While Toodledo also met my requirements, the web interface felt complicated and stuffed with too many features that I simply had no use Read More
Things Touch 1.5 has hit the App Store, and it brings with it some welcome changes to the Move Dialog (although they ‘ll probably also take a bit of getting used to). Version 1.5 is also a pretty big step forward in terms of Things as a standalone task manager, as, up until now, Things Touch has always really been the partner-in-app to the more robust, and more powerful Things for Mac. Move Dialog The Move Dialog is the ‘do everything ‘ menu of Things. You can assign categories, defer due dates, or remove them altogether ” all from the Move dialog. The old move dialog in Things presented you with a list of the Focus (Today/Next/Scheduled/Someday) and Areas of Responsibility, but allowed you to only pick one. This meant that you couldn ‘t decide the priority of a task (due Today or just Someday?) and assign it to an Area Read More

Today Todo Pro has a bit of an awkward title, but it ‘s definitely one of the most interesting and unique task managers to hit the App Store thus far. After all, what other apps let you move from today to yesterday by literally swiping the noon day sun off of the screen? Today ToDo Pro (or TTP from here on out) actually features a very simple interface, but it ‘s so different than anything else out there that it can take a little while to get used to. The categories (lists) are hidden in a pull-down menu at the top of the screen. Lists are divided into default and Someday tasks by default, but you can add your own categories at any time. New tasks are created by tilting the device into landscape mode, and dates are picked by using a sliding bar instead of the (inferior) Apple date picker. Read More
iPad launch first look: Things for iPad
Calendar16 Sun, 04 Apr 2010 00:00:00 UTC +00:00
Apr 3rd 2010 at 7:00PM I created a video review for Things. It should help you decide for yourself whether the app covers the features you need and if the experience of the nice interface justifies the price for you. Basically, I tried to get as close as possible to giving you the experience of actually using the app since there unfortunately is no trial or lite version.  Sick of waiting for cloud sync (OTA) on Things from Culture Code? Get your refund Today. Well, besides the things for iPad, i've just stumbled into a list about the best free ipad app at launch from I agree that Things is overpriced. It's a good piece of software, but the fact that you can't sync your PC(s) and iPhone seamlessly over the cloud is a big let down. They keep promising this, yet fail to deliver. Their pricing is messed up too. Read More

Win a copy of Things for Mac and iPhone
Calendar16 Thu, 24 Dec 2009 20:00:00 UTC +00:00
I have used a lot of productivity apps on my Mac and my iPhone. I wound up using Things every day because, for me, it struck the perfect balance of features and flexibility. Now three lucky winners will get a chance to see the Mac-iPhone sync, the keyboard shortcuts and the excellent tagging features in Things. As you can see in the picture, I keep the Things app [iTunes Link]handy on my iPhone as well -- it is an excellent complement to the desktop application. Here's a pro tip for Things if you use MailPlane (an excellent Gmail front end for your Mac): Select some text in an email, press Shift-Ctrl-Option-Command-P (yeah, that's a lot of keys) and the HUD will pop up with a link to the email and the selected text in the notes section. As I loathe Mail.app for serious work, this has been a huge productivity booster. Read More

After several years of trying to figure out what task manager for Mac and iPhone worked best with my peculiar style of organization, I finally settled on Things from Cultured Code. The Mac application is easy to use, uncluttered, and can take advantage of many keyboard shortcuts, while the iPhone app [iTunes Link] gives me a portable version of the Things database to take on the road. While the iPhone app can do a local sync to a Mac, it still doesn't do over-the-air syncing, which I hope Cultured Code will add in a future release. When I made Things my task manager, I needed to make sure that I could use the same database on both my desktop Mac and my MacBook Air, since the Mac version doesn't do syncing either. It turns out that one of the easiest ways to do this is to use the wonderful cloud storage Read More
Academic Appeal: Five Apps for the iPhone-toting Student
Calendar16 Thu, 13 Aug 2009 21:00:02 UTC +00:00
With the academic year about to begin, and having already tackled the important issues of iWork vs. Office, it’s time to turn our attentions to the iPhone. With over 65,000 apps on the App Store, even subtracting all the iFart and iTip applications there are five I feel are indispensable for any college student’s life. These apps range from the practical to the whimsy — all school and no play makes for a grumpy Crumpy. Evernote has quickly become the dumping ground for any information I come across on the Internet. I don’t even bother bookmarking anything anymore; I just clip it into Evernote. It’s very useful when I’m researching a paper — I’ll just tag an entry with the name of the paper, or create a notebook just for that class. Since Evernote keeps the URL for all clipped pieces, it’s very convenient when I go back to cite the Read More

Nine Awesome iPhone Apps for Business
Calendar16 Fri, 07 Aug 2009 22:09:51 UTC +00:00
Maybe it's odd to be recommending iPhone apps right now, with the house of cards that is the confused App Store policy falling down on Apple's head. But business users, we know you've got no time for listening to the woes of developers. You need to get things done. From file sharing and mobile meetings to serious data analysis and business intelligence, here are nine of the coolest apps for enterprise iPhone users that we could find. Considering the economy, we also tried to stick to the free and low-cost options, and you'd be surprised just how much you can get for so little. For data geeks, this is the coolest enterprise app ever made. Roambi is basically a visualizer for reports and business intelligence, and the enterprise server lets you connect with data from applications like Excel, Salesforce.com, Web Intelligence and Crystal Reports. My Netbook: The iPhone
Calendar16 Tue, 21 Jul 2009 17:00:23 UTC +00:00
A few weeks ago my dad had some pretty hefty surgery. All told, the surgery itself was seven hours long, and by the time I left the hospital it was almost a 14-hour day. He was in the hospital for almost a week and by the end of his stay, one thing had become very clear: my iPhone had become the command center for my life and had squashed any thoughts I’d ever had of getting a netbook. I’m not saying I don’t think there is a market for a device that’s larger than an iPhone but smaller than a MacBook — heck a few years ago when I was covering E3 for the gaming industry, I’d have loved a small device I could sit in a corner of the show floor and could bang out copy on. Apple Celebrates First Anniversary of App Store
Calendar16 Tue, 07 Jul 2009 05:36:21 UTC +00:00
Apple has started celebrating the first anniversary of the App Store with a special section on iTunes [link] highlighting their favorite applications and games. While the App Store officially launched on July 11th 2008, many MacRumors readers were able to access the App Store early after the 2.0 firmware was inadvertently leaked by Apple. The special page lists several of Apple's favorite apps, though the lists seem to vary by country. Some of the favorites in the U.S. listings include (links to iTunes): - MLB at Bat ($9.99) - Brushes ($4.99) - Ocarina ($0.99) - Things ($9.99) - Real Racing ($9.99) - Toki Tori ($0.99) - Eliss ($0.99) The App Store has come along way in a year with over 56,000 apps now available in the App Store. While all of Apple's choices have their merits, the last game listed above, Eliss, in particular is an iPhone original game that makes Read More

Things 1.1/Things Touch 1.3.5: Area Sync
Calendar16 Tue, 12 May 2009 01:45:00 UTC +00:00
Things Touch 1.3.5 has been released along with Things 1.1 and, among a heap of bug fixes and UI improvements, you'll find a new feature for syncing Areas of Responsibility from your Mac to your iPhone (it's not yet possible to create Areas in Things Touch). The feature requires Things 1.1 on the Mac side, which was officially released today, but has actually been available (sans release notes) for about a week (assumedly waiting for Things Touch to make it through App Store approval). Another new addition (which is more exciting, to me) is full AppleScript support in Things on the Mac. I haven't had a chance to dive into it yet, but it's a topic I discussed with Cultured Code at the last Macworld Expo and I'm excited to see it come to fruition. People using Things in any kind of group setting will appreciate the reconsidered approach to task Read More
Found Footage: iPhone Developer Profiles
Calendar16 Fri, 17 Apr 2009 20:00:00 UTC +00:00
In anticipation of the Apple Worldwide Developer Conference coming up June 8 - 12 in San Francisco, Apple has posted four videos highlighting developers who are creating apps with the iPhone SDK. Each video shows how the developer is creating a unique app with the iPhone SDK, using the tools and frameworks, and then selling the app through the App Store. The videos highlight: In this cynical world, it's great to see four people who are so positive about the iPhone platform and the SDK. Read More

Good Middle-weight Task app
Androse 1.0 stars Version: 1.1
To be fair, Things is better suited for most when compared to OmniFocus because it is more limited hence more simple to use, understand and implement - which is why Things is being compared to other simple todo apps, and OmniFocus is not. I've used OmniFocus since it's inception and decided to put Things through it's paces to really see how it does under heavy use - and how it works in a GTD workflow. The thing that is overlooked in these app reviews is that some people need heavy-weight apps and some do not. Things is a good app if a standard todo list isn't quite enough, and a robust app like OmniFocus seems like too much - it's a good middle-weight app. It's sync is great - better than Omni IMO, although unlike Omni, sync is limited to one machine. The tags/areas idea on the desktop will be nice to have on the iPhone, however the tags/areas system overall isn't as powerful as the contexts system Omni has designed. Unlike Omni, Things is really just a set of pre-labeled folders so it really buckles under heavy workload. The scheduled folder should automatically display tasks with due dates (smart folder) similar to the list view in iCal for iPhone. They took the starring idea from google for a quick today list which is handy. On the iPhone, the Next folder is about useless if you have a lot of projects - way too much scrolling to find something specific. The user interface is a little confusing in some screens, as the button purpose is unclear and the use of the menu bar isn't logical. Getting back to the home screen is a pain if your levels in - needs a one touch to home. It's not GTD friendly on the iPhone...it's just a todo manager that allows folders. Furthermore, Things on the iPhone is just a stripped down version of the desktop app - nothing about it takes advantage of being mobile, as does Omni with the powerful location aware capabilities that Omni has designed, which really help to be efficient away from the office. At the end of the day, both the desktop and iPhone versions of Things worked well to a point, but really buckled when I put a lot of information into them. It's not fit to run anything complex or task intensive. I own a company, have employees, oversee dozens upon dozens of projects at once, am a parent, and have a tremendously busy lifestyle. For my life, OmniFocus is very customizable and robust, and once setup is a very fast, efficient, and effective personal management tool. It only seems complex if you don't need the power. It's professional grade software, and that's what you pay for. Things is less complex, less powerful, less customizable, and lacks some features next to Omni, but it's also less expensive. It's apples to oranges in many regards. If your days are manageable, Things will help take a load off. If your days border on unrealistic, take the time to really get into and learn OmniFocus, as Things really can't shoulder the load that GTD was designed to manage.
Best way to GTD
hexorx 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
The desktop version has done an amazing job of getting me organized. Sync to the desktop is coming so I don't see it as a real issue since the app alone is great.
First app I bought -- beautiful UI, can't wait for syncing
darlab 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
The UI looks fabulous.. Congratulations. Looking forward to seeing the entire feature set. Sync is going to be awesome. Can't wait as my productivity will shoot through the roof.
Things rocks, but needs sync.
NoahDaniels 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
I've been eagerly awaiting Things on the iPhone since I've been using it on the desktop for quite a while. I actually purchased both Things and OmniFocus on the desktop, and decided I prefer the Things interface and simplicity.
The Best GTD App out there
danislinus 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
The clean graphical and intuitive user interface makes this the best task management app available. The desktop app is wonderful as well. A must have for any serious PMS user.
A little patience
dryver8 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Peopla, a little patience, if you would go over to the Culture code site you would see the synching will be out VERY soon they guys were under a lot of pressure to get this out by the current users, becuase this is such a rock solid app, and the iphone version will be too, just give it a few days.....
Great App much more intuitive than omnifocus in my option
knck 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Syncing is need badly but still pretty impressive app ready on Day 1. Also the developers just sent this in:
Questioning purchasing Things vs Omni?
Bbabics 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
Do a little research first. Visit both sites and watch the "getting started"video, as each have one. Omni is awesome. No one can really dispute that. But here's the deal; Things is setup to be somewhat of a clone (which isn't a bad thing at all) of Omni. However, 5 things make this app, Things, a better purchase for the iPhone, atleast right now. 1) Things is cheaper price tag for iPhone (limited time)* 2) Things desktop version (alpha) is free until this spring and has a discounted price once available for sale if you sign up for the newsletter. 3) Things is more intuitive to newcomers 4) Things is more asthetically appealing and functions just as well 5) Brain Dumping to the inbox is available for this app's iPhone version (not available on Omni's iPhone version) 6) Things hates Hillary Clinton :P * PLEASE NOTE: Currently, syncing between desktop & iPhone isn't available hence the cheaper price. It's been mentioned that the price of the iPhone version will become equal to Omni's iPhone app, once implemented. I guess I see it as an opportunity to save half for now and receive a nice feature for free once finished. Hope this review helps those in limbo. :)
Things is *the* GTD app for OS X!
rrbaker 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
This is a wonderful addition to the Things GTD application. I've also tried several other applications before settling on Things, and it really does it right. This portable version is just as well thought out; I'm excited about having this for the iPhone now as well.
This is how it's done!!!
kennethben 5.0 stars Version: 1.1
This was the best desktop task organizer, and now with syncing it's a GREAT iPhone app. And the syncing puts other programmers to shame - I've got several that don't sync as easily and reliably as this. Fantastic program, perfectly executed. I'm so excited that I can't wait to license the desktop version (which, though still a beta, is more flexible and solid than most second generation programs).
READ and understand
Bear_Hunter 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
For everyone reading this....This is easily going to be the best productivity tool for the iPhone bar none. In it's current state, it is already head and shoulders above the numerous "To-Do" apps in the App store right now (some of which are going for twice the price). The UI of "Things" is also head and shoulders above the rest. The developer has already stated that the ability to sync with your computer is coming very shortly, to include many other improvements. I have been using the alpha version of their desktop program since it came out, and it is an outstanding program. The developers are also very friendly people who listen to their customers.
This is great!
lectersmeal 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
I'm so excited about this new application! My only question is if it will sync w/ the desktop version of Things, does anyone have an answer?
Great Start!
mike.erickson 3.0 stars Version: 1.3.4
So, I am a recent convert from OmniFocus and trying to make Things as my standard GTD (it has been an interesting road). My biggest feature of Things that I like is the "Today" screen. I have tried and tried and tried to get OmniGroup to add something similar to OF, to date no luck so I said Things it is.
Beautiful, but why not fit it to the screen?
Salll 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
I just opened Things and it looks like it has a lot of the functionality of the desktop version and is very nice. However, I was surprised that, given the developer's normal attention to detail, that the main screen doesn't fit on the iPhone screen and needs to be scrolled several pixels. Why? Hopefully that will be fixed by squeezing the text together a bit or reducing the giant Lists bar at the top. Also, it would be nice to have a Home button at the bottom to jump back all the way to main screen with one tap.
Nice App for what is does
JR2000 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
I have bought and installed both "Things" and "OmniFocus" and I am writing a review of both. Things works great, looks, great, easy to use and sort through. I later bought OmniFocus because I needed the "contexts" feature to sort by location and Things did not offer this. I guess my life needed less simplicity and more features to meet my needs. That said, OmniFocus would freeze up and freeze up alot! Not sure which one I will ultimately end up using. I need the feature richness of OmniFocus, and if Things can add these in a later version that would be super. Right now Things seems to be the more stable application.
Great App... if you want to spend $60 to $85
f00fighters 1.0 stars Version: 1.3
I was very fond of this App. The desktop software was nice while it was FREE in the beta. Now, in order to sync your tasks with your desktop, you have to spend an additional $50. Make that $75 if you want the family pack. You're already paying $9.99 for the iPhone App. If you want to be able to sync your contacts to a database for FREE, then I suggest you spend your $9.99 else ware, and purchase "Todo" - from Appigo. It's a great alternative, and to backup/sync your tasks is Free. As opposed to "Things" in which you will pay an addition $50 for the desktop software. They need to make that desktop software free for iPhone users, or an additional $9.99 at the most. $49??? Screw Them!
Is it worth 10 Bucks? Absolutely!
gonevertigo 5.0 stars Version: 1.1
I'm generally cheap when it comes to buying iPod Touch/iPhone apps, but I'm so glad I found things. It's easily the greatest app I've ever used! Everything is simple, easy to use, and it works flawlessly with Things for Mac.
Nearly perfect
luminousnerd 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
I have been using the desktop version for a while and I absolutely love it. This version is missing some key features, but not things that I use a lot. The core functionality is there however, and exactly as you would expect. Looking forward to sync for sure but as it stands now this is a great app and well worth the ten bucks!
No Sync...
mkeefe 2.0 stars Version: 1.0
I have been using things since last fall and had high hopes, but with no sync, it's like a car without wheels.. A couple stars for a solid app, but falls short in actual usefullness.
Getting there (Updated Review)
whenderson 4.0 stars Version: 1.1
Update: this app has gotten a lot better since my last 3-star review. I've updated the review to reflect this. I'm as nit-picky as before - but overall this should be interpreted as a much more positive review.
Misleading Description
Kyle311 1.0 stars Version: 1.2
I paid the ~$10 based on the fact that you can wirelessly sync this app to the desktop. Now where did it say that I need to pay more ~$40 for the desktop version. Shame!!!
Good, but ...
ThomyNC 3.0 stars Version: 1.2
I bought this app based on the recommendation of an iPhone magazine. Doesn't live up to the hype and is too expensive for the provided functionality. There are cheaper apps available with more functions. Otherwise it's a good basic todo manager.
Love it!
GregorysAleck 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
I love lists and I love Things! The app is intuitive and the project section keeps those multiple todo for one action item grouped together beautifully. I can live without the syncing...for now.
Beautiful & Lacking
zts-it 3.0 stars Version: 1.3.4
Strengths: - beautiful and functional GUI design - pleasure to use - *today* view - *some day* view - has a desktop counterpart (Mac) - will do for 90% of people who don't need a pro grade GTD Weaknesses: - may be overly simplistic for serious GTD - no sub-tasking - no sequential processes - lack of syncing options (wifi only; no MobileMe option) Overall: A beautiful app that may have sacrificed some necessary features to be simple enough for the masses. It may have become overly simplistic in the process. It does well for many who don't need the complexity and pro features of OmniFocus and yet want something more than a simple to-do list. This app can easily be a five star app with a few more features added.
Support and Commitment to Customers... Lacking
Claymaster 1.0 stars Version: 1.3.4
Too many buyers were caught with no follow through on the final discount for the desktop version. Many people missed the notification and when informed, the developer did not support. Questions asked to the developer and never any responses. Recommend using OmniFocus... I think overall you will be happier.
Good app, lousy customer service
Mango himself 1.0 stars Version: 1.3.4
OK! I must be missing something. This app costs around $60 once the desktop is bought. It can't be used on PC. You must have the app open both on iPhone and your Mac. You must have a Wi-Fi running in order to sync. The UI us not customizable. It does not offer half the features of Toodledo or Remember the Milk. WHAT IN THE WORLD DO YOU SEE IN THIS APP? I am being absolutely frank. I want to know since I bought both apps and want to know. I do not understand why some people love this app. Obviously I bought it or I could not post here.
Still a Beta, save your $10
DaveyDave1 1.0 stars Version: 1.3.4
I'm not sure if the people on here that are giving this app high ratings have ever tried Todo (Appigo) or the Toodledo App. Those are full featured task apps. This thing can't even do a repeating to do, which is 95% of mine. Seriously feature poor at this time. He should call this a preview or something and make it free. It is NOT $10 caliber right now. I emailed the developer to ask for my money back... we'll see what happens.
Well written application, but still needs work.
misbehavens 4.0 stars Version: 1.3.4
For the first month of owning this App, I was sorely disappointed. It didn't live up to the hype. I used it regularly, but it still wasn't anymore helpful than a scrap of paper I had previously used to write my ToDo lists on. I even bought the desktop application hoping it would help me get things done and off my list, but the "sync" feature made it frustrating to use since it does not sync automatically (neither via the iPhone dock, nor an external database). It can only be synced by opening both applications at the same time. Until this feature is fixed, I can't justify paying $10 for a ToDo list application (or worse $50 for both).
Needs Repeating Tasks!
Danielsmu 3.0 stars Version: 1.3.8
It seems the devs are taking a page from the apple handbook with repeating tasks a la cut and paste. Repeating tasks is a feature that should have been there day one for this app and their FAQ page states that they're "working hard" on adding that feature. If they were really working hard on it, it would have been done months ago. Save your money and wait until they actually deliver the features they're "working on".
I have work to do ...
IDB0129 2.0 stars Version: 1.3.8
Sadly, I'm forced to abandon Things in favor of the less-beautiful but syncable OmniFocus. I have a personal and office computer in addition to my iPhone. I MUST be able to sync all three and possibly more in the future. I can no longer wait for them to provide this. The final nail in the coffin was when I discovered they removed their forums (full of requests for this feature and others) after months of ignoring them. I bought both versions on good faith but this latest turn of events has convinced me that we're likely dealing with an unstable company. Sad, but I have work to do NOW. Not in another six months.
Still waiting...
rdcc 1.0 stars Version: 1.3.9
7/4 - Third update for iPhone 3.0 version and still no push notifications! Maybe you guys should slow down throwing the crap at the fan to see what will stick. How about trying your updates out a bit before throwing them at us to debug! The last two updates have proven to be quite unstable, is this a trend now?
Another update without any significant features..... how sad!!
theo69 1.0 stars Version: 1.3.10
I used to love this app, and i still do and i use it on daily basis but lately I think the company is taking a wrong direction. First of all they removed their Forum on their website because people were simply expressing their frustration and needs and the company just ignored them by doing that. And since I have bought this app there were a ton of feature requests that i've made as i'm sure other people have too and not one of them has yet been applied to the application. And the last three updates of the app have been very buggy. These guys need to get it together. the app may be satisfactory but customer service is very important. and the company that doesn't take care of it's customers and their needs is doomed. I will change my rating once at least some of the feature requests have been implemented and after the company starts taking care of it's customers and provide better customer service.
Lazy Develop Team
DCNY 1.0 stars Version: 1.3.10
I bought this app way back when it first release. After almost a year, there is still no syncing from the server or push notification. Does the develop team know how stupid it is to sync through a wifi network when most of other apps can sync through a server no matter you are on 3G or any wifi network? Oh, I guess the develop team is too lazy to research how to make it happen. Let me do the research for you. Please check out the apps "delivery status touch", and "weightBot" in app store. They sync with desktop widget or software seamlessly. How about Things? Still stay in 2008 and using some triditional wifi network syncing. Please take care "user friendly" part of the app. Thanks.
Updates have SUCKED!
j10023 1.0 stars Version: 1.3.10
Updates have been few and far between, and bring hardly any changes. There have been features requested - even features Cultured Code tells us are their top priority - that we have yet to see, after almost one full year.
Starting to change my mind
Dr. Solace 2.0 stars Version: 1.3.10
When I first bought this app (as soon as it was released), along with its desktop companion, I began to think of it as an ideal gtd set up. Unfortunately, I've yet to remain satisfied with the iPhone version, especially while the desktop version has received significant updates. If this iPhone app continues to remain without any update that parallels it to the desktop version, then I will look elsewhere. Don't waste your money on this app. I don't know what it is with the people who rave about how good this app looks. What really matters is functionality, something the developers have poorly addressed with minimal updates. As of recent, I've decided to move onto Omnifocus.
Near Perfect GTD App
teamryan 5.0 stars Version: 1.3.11
It seems Things can't win. People complained forever that Things was buggy. Culturedcode has been attacking bugs at an amazing rate and now people are complaining that the new releases are ‘only’ bug fixes. People complained that the forums were hidden and abandoned. The forums are now alive again with participation from several Culturedcode employees.
