Tweetie 2.0 voor iPhone aangekondigd
Calendar16 Mon, 28 Sep 2009 20:45:07 UTC +00:00
Posterous + iPhone = Perfect Mobile Platform

Much like a migratory bird is genetically driven to fly south for the winter, I am driven to bloviate online. And so over the years I’ve accumulated my fair share of blogging accounts. I’m very active on Twitter, have a WordPress blog, a Flickr account, Facebook, and a rarely-used LiveJournal account. Keeping them all updated is frustrating, though. I’ve ended up just posting to WordPress and using the Twittertools plug-in to feed the post to Twitter (which also feeds into Facebook). It’s not elegant, but it works. I’ve said before that my iPhone is the command center for my life, and at the same time noted that there’s no real end-to-end solution that will let me blog across all services on the iPhone. The full-featured WordPress site is unbearable, and the iPhone app for the same just doesn’t cut it. I can use the drafts method to get an article off Read More
Tell us a little about you, and your current company. I am Dad of a gorgeous little girl, and our second child is due soon! I started Toopia five years ago, offering webdesign and application development services for a number of companies and agencies. Toopia is a one-man company, yet I work closely together with many other professionals to be able to offer a complete package to our customers. My specialty is the technical realization in Ruby on Rails and XHTML/CSS. Together with marketing partner Hugo Lingeman I developed a super simple Content Management System, which is meant for users that have little or none computer experience, or ‘fear of computers’ altogether. We love the response that we get to that: “Well yes, if it is that simple, I can do it, too.” About your background: What did you do before taking up iPhone development?  The iPhone application development is a Read More
Twitter Hit By Denial-Of-Service Attack
Calendar16 Thu, 06 Aug 2009 16:29:59 UTC +00:00
Many of you may have noticed that your Tweeties, Twittelators, and Twitterrifics just weren’t working properly this morning.  Well, it wasn’t just you.  Twitter has confirmed via their blog that they have been hit by a denial-of-service attack, rendering the site unavailable for a couple of hours. Denial-of-service attacks come in many shapes and sizes, but the general idea is to prevent a high-profile sites or services from working properly, and in this case that site is Twitter.  Twitter is back up and running as we speak, and the company has stated that they intend to continue to defend against the attacks and later investigate the cause. According to CNN, this attack is not related to the recent incident where a hacker stole internal documents from the site. Keep watching the Twitter blogfor more updates and details.  Hang in their tweeps! Read More
Nachrichtenfluss: Desktop und iPhone in Synchronisation
Calendar16 Sun, 02 Aug 2009 14:10:28 UTC +00:00

App forces reload of all tweets each time it's launched
iamshimone 2.0 stars Version: 1.1
After reading all the glowing reviews I was very disappointed to find this app suffers from one crucial drawback - it does not store tweets between sessions but rather, reloads them each time you launch the application. So, if you launch Tweetie, load your Tweets and then close it, the next time you launch the app it will again reload your Tweets. In the interim you will see a blank page rather than previous or read/unread Tweets. This goes for EVERY page in the app as well so Tweets, Replies, Messages, Favorites, none of that is stored between sessions. No internet, no data.
Expected more from this featured application.
TeeMonster 2.0 stars Version: 1.3
I purchased Tweetie on the iPhone App Store's recommendation. I needed to give other apps a test spin for a book I'm writing, and I assumed Tweetie must be an outstanding application as Apple was featuring it. Bad assumption. This app might get some ink but I'm not giving it the highest of marks. For free, TwitterFon runs better, has a snappier GUI, and fetches my tweets automatically. Can't say the same for Tweetie. Not the smartest investment I've made. Nothing to see here. Move along.
Great app with great potential
StepanM 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
This is the most feature full client for twitter hands down. Super fast navigation, interface is responsive, author definitely put a lot of work behind making it super fast. You would think this was made by Apple themselves. It has a few shortcomings: can't click links or @ tags on the timeline. Font seems big or maybe bubbles bother me. Inability to type somebodys name to follow (none of the apps I tried have that function), and when you are out and about and somebody tells you their twitter name I just want to start typing it with 2 clicks. No auto-refresh? Or at least very long one - bad. Time elapsed instead of the time tweet was posted, I don't want to do the math in my head to figure out if my friends are still at the place they said they are. Add auto-refresh, and time elapsed and it will be one great client. Allow us to tweak the theme and follow people easily it will be the best Twitter Client out.
Best iPhone Twitter app
@masonlee 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Fast, clean, stable, fully featured, supports multiple accounts, reply chain viewing, searches, saved searches, awesome UI, sweet icon. Makes me look at Twitter in a new light. And I'm not just saying that because @atebits is my friend. :) - @masonlee
Great App
midpoint109 5.0 stars Version: 1.3
Tweetie is a great app for Twitter users. I have had the benefit of using the beta version for the last two weeks, and I’ve enjoyed every aspect of Tweetie’s intuitive, easy-to-use interface. Tweets show up in color-coded chat bubbles (as they would in SMS or iChat), and the application seamlessly provides the ability to upload pictures using the iPhone’s camera, update your location using the iPhone’s GPS, and follow links using the iPhone’s browser. I highly recommend downloading this app—it’s well worth the $2.99.

The ONLY Twitter client you'll ever need
Gene Frenkle 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
I've tried 'em all, paid and free, and this takes the cake. It's only going to getter too, so buy now while it's $2.99
App has ads at the top
smarkwith 2.0 stars Version: 1.3.2
You pay for the app and now the app has ads at the top. You could use a free one that does the same thing.
As good as it gets
imessdee 5.0 stars Version: 1.2.1
I just moved Twitterific and Twinkle off of my main screen, and replaced them with Tweetie (I didn't bother buying Tweetsville because of price and early reviews that said Tweetie is faster, which it is!). Something must be said about creating an app with design as the core strength. Tweetie is faster, cleaner looking, and just boasts features none of the other big Twitter clients have at the moment. One thing I do wish it had was the "nearby" tweets that Twinkle has. I'll definitely spread the word.
Not impressed
IdleSiN 4.0 stars Version: 1.3.1
Always scrolls to most recent tweet instead of last read. Very frustrating. I'll be dumping this one & going back to Twittelator Pro.
Good app but...
Eric8199 5.0 stars Version: 1.3.1
...it needs an unread message count. When it gets that I'll switch back from the free Twitterfon. Won't be recommending this until then.
Wow.
DanMowchan 3.0 stars Version: 1.3.1
That's the only word I could find to describe Tweetie. I originally bought Twitteriffic Pro solely for all the gloss as I thought Tweetie only had the SMS style view (which I HATE). I was pleasantly surprised that Tweetie had an even better theme than Twitteriffic. The features are unmatched. Great purchase. Must buy if you use twitter.
Good but...
Gwyd 3.0 stars Version: 1.0
I find it really annoying that of loads at the moast recent tweet instead of the last viewed tweet. It is this one feature that keeps sending me back to twitterific. At least make it an option.
Much like TwitterFon
Dp400 4.0 stars Version: 1.3
Not sure of the advantages over the free TwitterFon? Appear practically identical.
Fastest Twitter client available!
Techmate 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
I have used most of the twitter clients for iPhones both pay and free. Didn't think I would find one that would impress me more than Twittelator Pro. I admit, Tweetie did. Right from the get go I was blown away by its speed. Loads are blazing fast. User interface has the nice ichat look and feel. Controls are easy to find and figure out. This app is now going on my iphone home page as my default twitter client. Good work guys!
BIG DISAPPOINTMENT
HanaTropicana 1.0 stars Version: 1.2
Was using TwitterFon. Friends convinced me to get Tweetie. See NO difference and had to dish out $3. New tweets are loaded in a way that I had to search which tweets I had actually read. Very chaotic.
The best
Christina_s10 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
I never thought I would buy something like this but it's really top notch. I have a hard time remembering it wasn't made by apple. It loads really fast, even over EDGE on my first gen phone.
Search fix needed
EmilioAragón 1.0 stars Version: 1.3.1
Search fix, now!!! 
Fix!!!!
Ipgirl 1.0 stars Version: 1.3.1
Why is the fix on twitpocalypse taking so long! It used to be the best app ever! Even twitterific updated the fix a day a go! Please!!
Disappointment
Carnahaa 1.0 stars Version: 1.3.1
This app worked fine for a long time until recently, when it suddenly started displaying only one post at a time for searches. Why are we getting no communication from the developer on this? I've been inspired to try Tweetdeck as a result.
Fix broken search feature!
ShipiboConibo 1.0 stars Version: 1.3.1
In the meantime TweetDeck is growing on me more and more...
Horrible horrible horrible
Musicman555 1.0 stars Version: 1.3.1
This used to be my favorite Twitter app but then it started only loading individual tweets and the search function stopped working. DO NOT BUY
Integrated
AaronOceanApple 5.0 stars Version: 1.3
Definitely worth the price for how integrated it is...it's really a pleasure to use!
Best Twitted App for the iPhone
iPhone Addict 4.0 stars Version: 1.3
I was using twitterfon before upgrading to Tweetie. Fon was fine but Tweetie has a lot more to offer and is even more user friendly. Particularly great app for managing multiple Twitter accounts.
One App Rules them All...
paultwo 5.0 stars Version: 1.2
Ok, so after purchasing every app that has come out in attempt to fully service twitter users. Twittelator Pro, Twitterific Premium, etc. I decided to go ahead and purchase this app as well. And wow, I went ahead and removed all the rest, there is no need for any other iPhone Twitter app. This app loads fast, follows the iPhone core design, enables multiple accounts, photos, simple to use @replies, direct messages... I cannot really explain it better than "it just works, and works well." Love this app. Glad to add it to my app family. If you dont want to believe its fine, no worries... my feelings aren't hurt.
