Can't be used with just a Twitter account
Rob Marquardt 3.0 stars Version: 1.0
Twinkle won't work unless you sign up for a Tapulous account in addition to your Twitter account. The location-based services are also dependent upon it -- so you're not finding nearby Twitter users, you're finding nearby Tapulous users.
great interface, great service, one dealbreaker.
PrivacyNerd 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
I loved Twinkle from the moment I first used it a month or so ago. The new version of the app has a more polished look and some nice features. However, the need to sign up for a Tapulous account on top of the twitter account was a headscratcher. And unfortunately, Tapulous has no privacy settings, so anything I post from Twinkle isn't really protected from prying eyes the way twitter posts are. Other than that, fantastic app and a great add-on to the Twitter API.
Great but please loose the tapulous network
setec 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
Love the app. Used it on the jailbroken phone. But please dump your private network. It does me no good to leave posts on a network besides twitter. At least put an option to turn that network off.
Best Twitter App - Hands Down
Yosmel 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Twinkle is by far the best twitter app that we have seen come through the appstore.
Vampiric social network app masquerading as Twitter
Captain Wonkybutt 1.0 stars Version: 1.1
It really is the best Twitter app. Unfortunately it posts all your what would be private updates to Tapulous' Twinkle stream before cross posting them to Twitter. Tapulous is well aware of this confusion. When I contacted them the COO, Andrew Lacy, responded that it wasn't really a problem because, "The majority of Twinkle users are actually not on Twitter." SHENANIGANS my tweet stealing friend. SHENANIGANS. You're designed an intentionally misleading product. Shame on you.
The best Twitter app
matt.mccarty 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
If you have to choose between Twinkle and Twitterific go with Twinkle. Many of us iPhone/iPod Touch users have used this app in the past and knows how well it works. One of the best features is that it can find other people using Twitter near you.
Its gone down hill
Packard Sonic 1.0 stars Version: 1.0
It used to be simple. user name and password. Now its asking for my email and username? I don't get it... I seen that its now attaching to some other website and when I attempt to log in, it cant find my posts or anything else that I get twitters on. The old app crashed a lot but it at least could find my posts and I could post on it. Until you remove that Tapulous website from the equation I wont be using it again anytime soon and removing it from my phone altogether. You were good, but now you just plain stink! If I could give you any less stars I would but one is as low as they allow...
Great app
Pink Velvet Pony 1.0 stars Version: 1.4
I have really enjoyed this app while using it!
Doesn't work
edog1203 1.0 stars Version: 1.0
I entered my Twitter credentials- my direct messages appeared, but nothing showed up on my home screen- it says I'm not following anyone! Useless for now. Also, the whole Tapulous network thing is shady and is not explained to the user at all.
Twinkle is cool.
KryssiW 5.0 stars Version: 1.1
As someone that only just tried out twitter, twinkle's got me hooked. Chatting with people in the area is a great way to pass the time, and it's incredibly easy to do. That said, here's a list of stuff I want. 1. A distance option of 3000 miles. I'd like to be able to see everyone in the US, without seeing everyone from Australia too. (I'm on the east coast) 2. A blocking feature. 3. The ability to click on "@poster" so that I can see their posts. 4. A friend list and a way to add friends whose posts I can no longer see. 5. Extended profiles, so we can tell other people a little about ourselves. Think about it!! These are things that would only make twinkle better. Then I'll give it ten stars. :)
ONE OF THE BEST SOCIAL APPS AVAILABLE
BrYcE_DeRiCK 5.0 stars Version: 1.1
i got addicted with it.....im not sure if thats a good thing LOL
crashes crashes crashes
ohhoe 2.0 stars Version: 1.0
Seriously, this program would be awesome if it didn't crash as soon as I opened it. Also all of the people around me seem to be using it as a dating service, but otherwise the interface is really beautiful and when it's not crashing, it's a really cool application to see what people in your area are doing.
Actually started me using twitter
fumduq 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
I always found twitter uninteresting until I started this client. Now I "tweet" the first thing every morning. Photo attachment is very intuitive, and the nearby mode is just a new paradigm in social interaction. Download it, now.
Grand progression
M. Leprae 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
To me, this app replaces the need for twitter and all grafiti wall style apps. This puts a personal face on the area you are in. The radius box let's you adjust your range.
Addictive...
mista_duval 5.0 stars Version: 1.1
Just another one of the apps that makes it hard to put my iPhone down. It's cool to meet new people in your area and tweet away to your followers. There are a few things that can be improved, but the pros vastly outweight the cons.
Fantastic software!
best.,., 5.0 stars Version: 1.1
Good
I'm constantly harrassed on twinkle
Askslim.org 1.0 stars Version: 1.1
Ever since I started using twinkle there is one person that has been harrassing and threatening me. He constantly use racist and homophobic slurs, which constitute hate crimes. He has said several times he was comming to where I was to shoot or assualt me. There is no option to block people and admin will not ban him. Not only should the app kick him off they should report him to the police. I'm amazed that they will not help me at all.
Beautiful Twitter App!
Pipes! 5.0 stars Version: 1.1
This app rocks my socks! Pleasant design, full twitter support, runs smoothly, and I get to meet new people! Better than the other twitter apps by far (in my humble opinion ;))! Try using it with Scribble so you can draw your own pictures to attach to your tweets!
Got better with the 1.1 upgrade
Xtian Casillas 5.0 stars Version: 1.4
For those that complain that Twinkle wasn't that good cause it constantly crash, now they release a version 1.1 that haven't crash once on my phone and process pictures faster, luv this blogger since the beginning and will keep using it
Unknown server error
Xzzzxxxxxzzzzxxxx 4.0 stars Version: 1.1
It keeps saying unknown server error every time I try to send a message it won't refresh any more it's just not working right for me but when it did work it was a great app that's why 4 stars I wish I could get this problem fixed
I can't stop Twinkling!
everard104 4.0 stars Version: 1.1
One of my favorite apps to date. It's clean, useful, simple and after the update, very stable. Get it..you won't be able to stop Twinkling..
Great Twitter App! ...and so much more.
TheMBC14 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
There's one reason why other apps are crashing and burning when they're trying to locate friends near you: you have to register to a completely different social network. Why would people do that nowadays? Most people have registered where they want and have stayed there. Done. Well, Twinkly knows that and uses location-based services to show you other Tweets with a 1, 2, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100, and 1000 mile radius! And of course there's an option to show everyone's tweets from Twinkle.
It's a little unstable...
gaack 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
But it's better than Twitterific.

A must have social app and for Twitter users
SeANMcBAY 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
The best Twitter app by far.
Almost 5 stars, minus 3 for poor form
chuym 2.0 stars Version: 1.0
I _only_ used this when I had jailbroken my phone and was sad to see it not in the store at first. As I was about to download it I noticed that people were talking about having to sign up for yet ANOTHER service. In this day and age, trying to have people who are on one service sign up for a superfluous service just does not make sense. I am fairly disappointed and hope that this gets taken care of in the next release. That or I will stay with Twitteriffic.
beats twitteriffic.
