For Twitter fans and Twidroid users, earlier this morning we saw an update come from Twidroid, which brought the version up to 2.6.3. And as we have come to expect, the update came with a nice little set of release notes. First of all, I love the rich feature set. But the ADS! It's OK to have ads that support your app, but animated, flashing ads in a Twitter client are just too distracting. This is why I block flash in Firefox. I love the features of this app, but the ads are driving me away. I'm not sure if it's worth $4.99 a year to ditch the ads. Maybe a one-time purchase, but a subscription? It would be cheaper to switch to something else.

I checked the box to prevent automatic updates a hour ago. I just got a message on my phone that storage is low...and why, because it updated again. When I go back to check the box to prevent auto updates, the box is gone. Now I have no choice but to get auto updates. Now it has become spam and needs to be reported to the Android market. I don't use twitter, I have no use for this app. It's taking up unnecessary space on my phone. I wish I could delete it altogether, but my phone won't let me.

...that an app can go from being the absolute best to the absolute worst so easily. I was a devoted Twidroyd fan and soldier, converting everyone I knew to use it -- so much that I PAID for Twidroyd PRO (which is now useless). This Uber Social abomination, however, will never be used by me, and I will never recommend it to anyone. If I could give 0 stars, I would... it's complete garbage. Why in blue blazes wld you make the app send a mention that a person has been muted. That is the dumbeat thing ever where is the privacy. Doesn't make sense at all. Change it or I will be deleting very soon. Explained: if someone is tanning too much on your tl u have the option to mute the person. However w/ the new update. If u mute someone. A mention will be created telling that person that u have muted them. Obviously the created was smoking a crack pipe.

How can you release an app that polls for notifications every 5 minutes by default? Thats 12 checks an hour, uses precious data and most importantly, battery life. Thats 288 checks every single day, whether the user is active or not Sorry, but thats just unacceptable, especially since this app is on millions of phones. Hook this into Google's C2DM which is already supported on 90+% of active Android phones and leave this unefficient, archaic poll system as a fallback.

I absolutely loved this up, until the last update! Now it is just FUBAR'd on both the Samsung Galaxy S (2.3.5) and Motorola Xoom (4.0.4) It doesn't update the accounts anymore on both devices, in order to get new tweets, you have to manually open the app and manually update, even though I have the widget open on both devices. The SGS doesn't even show anything in the widget even after opening the app and manually updating for latest tweets :-( Changing the settings in the app does nothing to fix these issues. I will put the review back to 5 *'s if/when these issues are resolved. On a plus though the other changes seem to be pretty good its just sad the main functionality of getting updated tweets is sorely broken :'(

I hate the update. It needs to be changed back to the old one. When I go to tweet my previous tweet is there so I have to delete it and then put what I actually want down. Same for tweeting someone. Its really annoying and personally I'm on the verge of uninstalling, it is that annoying. I have to manually refresh my timeline which isn't that bad but it goes back to previous ones which is annoying ! Horrible horrible update!

The last two updates have taken it down to 1 star for me (even after the update intended to fix bugs). Everything from "no tweets found", not remembering scroll position, tweets turning into DMs when scrolling down too. Far... Basically forcing me into entering my email address and following UberSocial. If I choose not to, it defaults to tour mode every time I open the app and my settings aren't saved (which is annoying as it drains my battery and gives me unwanted notifications.) Please fix or uninstalling

Used to be a very good app that I love, but the recent update is terrible. My old tweet that I've read is always mark as unread no matter how many times I read it. Used to work well in the sense that only unread tweets are marked with unread tweets. But nw everytime i open mu twitter, everything was unread all the time!! As if i ddnt bother to check. its super frustrating bcoz i dont even know where have I stop reading it.

Sucks after update! Do not update if you haven't saved the apk file for UberSocial prior to downloading the update on 4-6... The devs of UberSocial r the original devs of Twidroid free & paid v,TwidroidPro. They screwed up the Pro v. that me & thous of others purchsed. It worked fine b4 it suddenly quit working 4 mnths. They changed the UI of Twidroid free v 2 the free v of UberSocial. It took the devs forever 2 update Twidroid Pro 2 the add free paid v of UberSocial. Looks like they're doing it again by ruining UberSocial. It's way worse now! Gjob devs! Wasted >$ on u guys! Go w/ TweetCaster Pro-U'll b sorry u bought UberSocial!

With every update something goes wrong.....where is the bubble style tweets I hate this new app especially the sliding. Sometimes when I'm scrolling my timeline the page goes left and right instead of up and down. You copied too much from the facebook app and I hate it...I like having the customized bar down at the bottom for the things I use the most. The search button at least need to be put up by the new tweet button. FIX THIS!!!!!!

Five stars for adding jump to the top back, minus three stars for the fact that the app jumps to the top on each refresh on it's very own. I'd like to keep on scrolling to the top from where I left off like I used to be able to, now finding the right spot is virtually impossible. Also, is it just me or has the Live Preview not been working at all for ages? The Inner Circle does function better now, but did like the old Uber Bar system, any chance of bringing something similar back, like listing the special ppl on a separate tab maybe?

You completely broke your app! I can't get out of the tour thing. I get asked to follow ubersocial and then the app closes. I can't select a theme. I'm getting notices for mentions that are a month or more old. Someone broke it. Make them fix it! When it works, you get your stars back. Edit 4/8/12: The widgets are completely dead. I can get into my tweets, but preferences reset on every launch. I came to see what your fix was and found there isn't one. Sad to have to dump this app after 3 yrs. Someone in dev needs to be fired. They don't understand how to write or how to test before release. Sloppy workmanship.

I loved you on my Blackberry & helped win many converts to your platform back then, but have been sorely disappointed in the Android version. It's to the point where I only kept this app for the Uber Bar. "Inner Circle" does NOT do the same thing. If I cannot restore an older version, I will be completely uninstalling, & using Tweet Caster full time. They are more what I loved of UberTwitter/UberSoc than UberSoc is now. I have been using this on my HTC Droid Inc. since the manual switch from Tridroyd. I think the layout in the UI is very well designed and the devs are quick to fix most major bugs. I do run a custom ROM and have been having issues as of late with my PRO license and some refresh problems, specifically remembering my timeline position after refreshing, but a quick e-mail to the support staff and they begin to look in to it. The quick and personal response from the support staff and devs turn a very good app in to a great and well kept app! I highly recommend this over the Twitter app because of the support you receive and the quick resolutions to any bugs that may come up.

UberSocial for Android was never all that great to begin with. It always sent my tweets before I was done typing. Never held my place when I was scrolling through my TL. But this new "update" takes the cake of HORRIBLE!!!! It's ALWAYS crashing, my tweets never appear, my TL jumps from 12hours ago to 3 minutes ago. It's terrible. The new layout of the menu looks crappy..and whyyyy is my replies the first thing I see instead of my timeline.. AND PLEASE I BEG OF YOU TAKE THE STUPID FACEBOOK SECTION OFF.

*****since the update the timeline position issue has been fixed and it hasn't been force closing. Happy to be using it again.**** I loved this app before the update. When it loads new tweets it either takes me to the latest tweet or takes me down to tweets from 30 minutes ago. Then I have to scroll to find the last tweet I read. Also has been force closing a lot. I'll just use the regular Twitter app until this gets fixed. I like the new design of it though so hopefully this gets fixed soon.

The layout doesn't work! I clearly choose the bubbles and it did change to bubbles but as soon as I change font size or theme it will immediately change back to boxes. The support people's excuse was "we're working on improving our themes so this sometimes happen." Today, I didn't even change font size and theme, no matter how often I tapped on the bubbles option, it just doesn't do it! Disappointed. Other than this issue, it's fine.

I use lists a lot and I really dislike how few tweets I can see in lists. As I follow a lot of people I rarely look at the timeline so would much prefer being able to have as many tweets as in the timeline for one of my lists instead. Would also like to be able to choose which is the default tab and maybe even be able to choose whether or not the timeline is even visible. Getting lots of user not found errors constantly when the user does exist. May uninstall if not fixed.
