It’s time to take a look at my recommendations for iPhone, hand-picked from the week’s App Store releases. This week I’ve been looking at Mujik, Whiteboarder, Qik and Civilization Revolution. Top of the list is FourTrack, which recreates the classic analog four track recorder on the iPhone, complete with metronome and bounce downs — it really is an essential tool for music makers. Der größte Nachteil bleibt gegenüber dem Webangebot und anderen mobilen (Geräte-)Plattformen, dass kein unmittelbarer Live-Stream vom iPhone ins Netz übertragen wird. Derzeit werden Video aufgenommen, mit GPS-Positionen versehen und anschließen über Twitter, YouTube oder Facebook verteilt – ausschließlich von einem iPhone 3GS. Zusätzlich bietet Qik den Zugriff auf die bereits erstellte Video-Bibliothek im iPhone. Qik verteilt dabei die abgespeicherten Videos an Webdienstleister (Facebook), die aus der offiziellen Apple Photo-Anwendung nicht beliefert werden. The game’s developer, Bovine Dragon, is a regular tweeter and so when I woke up this morning to read that Gomi had finally been approved by Apple and released to the App Store, without even rolling out of bed, I immediately purchased the app. I’ve mentioned it a few times over the past few months, but to recap over the premise, the game blends Katamari Damacy object-rolling with planet hopping à la Mario Galaxy.
