Read More
Telltale Games Puts 11 Games on Sale Until January 29th
Calendar16 Mon, 23 Jan 2012 14:45:53 UTC +00:00
By Carter Dotson on January 23rd, 2012 Telltale Games has put a variety of titles on sale, including entries from a pair of original series. Telltale Games, purveyors of fine point-and-click adventure games, are launching a 99-cent sale that they are describing as ‘epic’. The sale, set to run from January 19th until the 29th, includes a total of 11 games. Included in the sale is the Hector: Badge of Carnage series, that takes a quirky, grotesque, and profane look at police detective work through the eyes of the crude Hector. All three episodes in the series for iPad are on sale, and the last two episodes are on sale for iPhone/iPod touch. The first episode for iPhone was published by original developer Straandloop, which likely explains why it isn’t part of the sale. The Puzzle Agent series is also on sale, for those who like their adventure games a little Read More
Price Drop: Games Games Games

Posted 11/25/2011 at 4:30pm | by J Keirn-Swanson As always, the holidays brings out the big guns when it comes to app price cutting. This time around is no exception, with some familiar developers going crazy with the discount action. Why wait for Cyber Monday when you can get your game on right this very minute? This one is huge. A thank you to the fans who've stocked their iPads and iPhones and iPods with their games through the years, Electronic Arts has slashed prices across the board. Like what, you ask? How about Battleship for the iPad down four dollars to just $0.99. Or pick one of the Monopoly for the iPad versions, either regular down from $9.99 to $2.99 or Monopoly Here & Now with the same price drop. Scrabble for the iPad takes a similar nose dive on the price. Get it and The Game of Life ($2.99) Read More
Back in December 2010, Telltale Games released the first episode of its [$6.99] series on the iPad. No further releases have seen the light of day since, but it’s not like the studio doesn’t want to push the rest of the games out -- it still does. At least, up until this April the studio was making its intentions clear. In an official forum posting, Telltale staff member Alan Johnson said more Monkey Island episodes, as well as Back to the Future, were in the pipe. BTTF Episode 2 [$6.99] released last month on the iPad. Other staff members backed him up in this thread, stating that other, later Tales episodes have been ported to the iPad and are now in some sort of testing phase. It was a concern of more than a few MI fans after the release of the first Tales game that Telltale would abandon the series. Read More
It recently has come to our attention that you have adapted a number of games from the Sierra classic library (the “Sierra Games”) for web-based and iPad play. We understand that you currently are offering these Sierra games via the website www.sarien.net (the “Website”). As you may be aware, your distribution and public performance of the .Sierra Games infringes Activision’s copyrights. (As you note on your Read More
When it comes to point-n-click adventure games, I think it’s safe to say tablets, such as the Apple iPad, are the perfect device to play such games. When it comes to those same types of games, one of the companies that I feel is delivering a solid experience in their games is Telltale Games. If you haven’t experienced games like Monkey Island Tales 1, Sam & Max, or Puzzle Agent on your iPad, now would be the perfect time to check them out as a little Telltale Games birdie just informed me that all of their titles are on sale for $2.99. It might seem strange that after all of the recent holidays and New Years sales that Telltale would all of a sudden drop the prices for their games. Although no big holidays are going on right at this moment, that is, unless you’re Australian, Telltale Games decided to drop the prices Read More
Holiday App Sales Galore
Calendar16 Wed, 22 Dec 2010 21:02:41 UTC +00:00
To celebrate the season a whole bunch of apps are going on sale. Here's the most comprehensive list available for which apps are seeing a discount. Last month our Thanksgiving meals were stuffed with lots of deeply discounted apps, and it seems that publishers are getting into the Christmas spirit in much the same way. We’ve got a whole slew of apps available at rock bottom prices just in time for your holiday celebrations, many at their lowest prices ever. Make sure and act fast though, as many of these apps are available for an extremely limited time. Also, be sure and keep checking this post regularly, as we’ll be updating all the new deals as they are announced. Much like Santa, we don’t stop working until Christmas, and we’re paid in milk and cookies. Speaking of, if you could leave out some chocolate chip oatmeal cookies that would be delightful. Read More
It's a good time to be a fan of Telltale Games. If you haven't noticed already, the prices of most of Telltale's games are now a mere 99 cents on the App Store. What's the occasion, you ask? The cuts are in celebration of the release of Monkey Island Tales 1 HD [$6.99] for the iPad, Telltale tells us. And while the sale doesn't actually include the new release, it's nice to save some cash on the companies' other solid titles. Here's the full list of the games on sale: I think I think that Puzzle Agent is the most remarkable game on this list. It has its share of logic flaws, technical baggage, and interface woes, but it rises above all of it with sheer strength of character, oddness, and unique gameplay. I also think that most Sam & Max fans would agree on this same point in regards to The Penal Read More
