Drivers needed, even passively (just driving with it on) to make the routing/live map as good as it is in Israel. But this app is solid, features, algorithms, all solid. Creating new roads is easy and and seeing other Wazers around is gratifying. Can't wait for voice.

Using users GPS, this app allows the network to get real time traffic data. Brilliant!

Great concept. Needs more people driving around and fixing the map to make it great (and free)! Same concept as Wikipedia but for commuting. I am driving around Newark, collecting points and trying it out. Anyone else around?

I just downloaded this and I constantly get errors "Operation failed" and the data in my city (a top 10) is almost useless. Map data doesn't exist for the road I'm on (a major arterial) and the traffic data is non-existent. The closest traffic/police/accidents it found were over 1,000 miles away!

It's not often an app leaves me speechless. But this thing is so badly buggy, I don't have the words to tell you how bad it is. I'd be very surprised if any of the positive reviews didn't actually come from the developers themselves.

I just don't understand the hype. The map data is sub-par, and the alert data is nonexistent and useless. The app is cute and fun, but of no meaningful value as a navigation tool or traffic alert. I know a larger user base is needed, but really - what is all the hype about? This seems like a social experiment and not a useful tool. I had high hopes, maybe I'll be blown away in two years. The app has a long ways to go.

Is this a bug or does is this app only work with the 3Gs iPhones? I'm using the latest 3.01 iPhone OS and I haven't been able to use this app once.

A lame attempt at a navigation application...I think. There is little road data where I want to be, the navigation is incomprehensible and the directions are nonsensical.

This app will be awsome as soon as there are alot of people using it. Download now!

Don't waste your time. This thing doesn't work properly and says it can't find GPS when google maps has no problems locating me in the 4th largest city in the US.

Expected a lot more based on the product description. good idea, but this app needs scale -- millions (probably tens of millions) of active drivers - to provide maps or traffic I would trust.

I had high hopes for this application. It seems to work OK on my son's 3GS but on my 3G it doesn't work at all. When I start it up I get "No network, unable to display live data". It is only version 1.0 so maybe as the improvements come it will work better. My son was still not impressed even though it worked somewhat for him.

I decided to try this app in Canada but all I got was the car in the middle of the screen. It tried connecting and loading a map but no map was shown. Is this just cause of my location? no map data here? it should use the map app already on the phone or something. Overall nice app tho. like the idea and turn by turn navigation. I just wish I could use it here.

The closest event it showed me was 9 miles away when I could find other events closer in other traffic sites. Please change the map style.... It is not pretty!

It has errors all over this application. it has potential. but needs a lot of work. does not work in Honolulu Hawaii. "operation failed" "no gps" and other errors. we can't even see the map.

I think Waze it's a very nice concept. It gives us a very nice maps application for free, while the others (other apps) are asking for 90$ for a country maps(like iGo). The idea of us building a public map by reporting to the Waze dev, works pretty fine(in Isreal, this app availible since a year ago).

It always says I have no gps? Help!

Although it does have it's bugs, what is here is a solid foundation and I look forward to seeing what they build on to what is here now in the future.

I love this App! I'm actually using it more than the Maps App that is already on the iPhone. What I would like to see is the ability to cut and paste in the address section. Overall one of the best Nav Apps avail! And the icing is that it's FREE! You guys rock! Hope we can get some sounds/voice soon  hint-hint 

If you read up on this app, you will see that this is a very early version of what this app is to become. Even the email address (which they do respond to) is alpha at waze.com. The concept is amazing. As others have stated, it will be much better the more people contribute to it. In it's current form, it doesn't save your login info and they are aware of this bug. Amazing potential & free, so don't complain.

Real time traffic is automatically reported by the device.

Starting with the things to like: It's free, of course, and that's a huge plus. The only other free turn by turn GPS app out there is on Cydia and its UI leaves something to be desired. The possibility of having up to date information on speed traps and traffic are also extremely interesting.

I tried rebooting my phone and I even re-installed the app. It will not get past the splash screen without crashing. Waste of time, don't bother.

i downloaded this app so i can complain about it. apple brought this app to my attention by recommending it to me in an app store receipt mailing.

Type in an address and it can't find it… therefore I can't navigate to it! Very confused!

I'm glad this APP is free as it has more bugs than a Chinese restaurant. The concept is wonderful and quite similar to Dash. Unfortunately Dash never become quite poular. I don't envision this becoming poular either because people are not going to want to keep an active App going while they're driving. If they get/make a call how many folks are going to remember to reactivate the App. Nice try. Now I'm going to delete it to free up some space. Lastly, the graphics are a joke. Think $0.99 game in the App store.

This has amazing potential. Using it in the Bay has left me without my Tomtom :-) Now with voice guidance i am set. Just need more people driving with it so that the traffic gets better. I leave it on all the time in my car so I can help out

Although it's not stated in the description, the latest update includes turn by turn voice guidance. I can't believe this app is free! Although I think you have to be kinda high ranked to use voice guidance. I have it, and it's pretty sweet.

Still getting some circuitous routes. Need more drivers!!

I want to like this app, I really do. I like how you get points for travelling down roads that no other wazer has explored yet. (What are the points for?) Your car turns into a Pac Man type character and gobbles up dots that are on unexplored roads. Very cute and fun to watch. BUT.. one of my biggest complaints is that about 50% of the time, I will be travelling down a road that has not been explored yet (dots on the road) and my car just stays a car and doesnt gobble up the dots and I dont accumulate any points. There are several roads that I have travelled on numerous times and have yet to get all the dots. It will gobble for about 10 points then stop... then a mile down the road it will start again.. so there is a big gap of un gobbled dots that I should have ate but didnt. Another prob... I tried to map an address. My work address and it was not found. The address lookup needs a lot of work. Also, the gps does a slow job of keeping up. I am usually farther down the road than it says I am , its about 10 seconds behind, unlike when I use the iphone map app, I am usually exactly where it says I am. Another complaint, Yes there are many, I keep getting traffic alerts for things that are 150+ miles away. They say you can set it so you only see local alerts but to set that is nowhere to be found. Another minor complaint, the Auto night/day mode does not work, I do like the fact that you can add new roads, and alert others of traffic incidents. The GPS needs to be a little smoother and quicker to respond though, because some of the roads I created look nothing like the direction I was going, due to the slow GPS response. ONE MORE THING...... When I am using this app. My battery life is reduced BIG TIME... I used this for about an hour today and was down from 90% down to 32%. CRAZY drainage! So I recommend you only use this if you have a car charger to keep your phone charging while its being used. Fix all this stuff and I will update my review. Thanks.
