Wow! What a helpful app. I especially liked the restaurant critiques and the inside info on the winemakers. We followed the advice about tastings and had some great wines and found good bargains. This is great for anyone who doesn't want to spend a week doing their own research - and you probably still wouldn't find the best places.

Love the different approach Aoc takes. No endless business listings but well thought out tours of interesting boutique wineries. All the "big boys" I can find myself when I walk through my local winestore or supermarket. The most exciting winery discovery was Envy Winery. Didn t know that Carter has a new adventure. The recommended restaurants are exceptional. You certainly can find them on Yelp but that is too much research and preperation for me to do just to get away for the weekend. The app has a nice layout, easy to use and connects with FB nicely. Only improvement would be to see Robert Parker or Wine Spectator ratings. The price is higher than on other apps but you get what you pay for.

We just recently moved from Europe and find AOC to be the best travel apps for wine regions in the US. The authors have extensive wine and travel experience which shows (a lot of wine apps are thrown together by software developers that create winery databases and have no wine expertise). We do a lot of weekend trips and don’t have much time to research an area thoroughly. I know that Yelp lists everything but I simply don’t have the time to go through all of that and read each comment. If you want a business listing AOC won’t work for you. We like the fact that AOC has tested wineries and created a selection of handpicked smaller wineries that cannot be found on most shelves. We made great experiences with their restaurant recommendations (Ad Hoc was fantastic!). Overall, I would say that this app is perfect if you are into Food and Wine and read Bon Appetite etc. They also tell you where NOT to go in the “Most overrated – Usual suspect” section. Unfortunately, our teenage son wanted to see the geyser in Calistoga which AOC listed as a tourist trap. And guess what? It was the biggest waste of money on our trip (should have bought a bottle of wine instead). Maps are improved and much better than they used to be in the Willamette app. Also make sure you tab on the golden diamond on the bottom of the page which opens a navigation wheel. It took us a while to figure that out. Maybe in the next release the wheel could be more visible? Just a minor suggestion to improve the app. Otherwise, very well done and definitely worth the price compared to other apps that are out there.
