I really like this app. In addition to providing what's available for free with World Wiki, it has a nice quiz function that questions you by capital, location, flag, or a mix. This is worth the $1 to me.

Nice app on and all, but iTunes might want to update this app. The United States info still shows George W. Bush as the president.

So far I think this is the best app I have bought so far. I've always been a nerd when it comes to learning about other countries and this app seems like it was made just for people like me. This app has taught me about countries I have never even heard of before. lol. It's also great if you need to pass the time in a waiting room or between classes.

This helps me learn country locations to make aceing my geography tests easy!

I think this is a great app! My kids are preparing for a geography bee and it has information from the most basic to really detailed. Each country has more than one map (regional and detailed), official language, current government info, economic info, which side of the road people drive on (!), calling code, geographical information (including arable/crop lands, irrigated land, current environment issues, age demographics etc....) PLUS there lots of ways to quiz yourself! Great for kids and adults. Graphics are very good. Wow.

It hits you with the same country in a row, does not learn anything from your mistakes, the maps are of poor quality, so that they have to be zoomed by the app even on the tiny iP screen! Consistently crashes after you go through 50 or so locations in the quiz. The lamest app I ever downloaded.

In the quiz, the African country of Uganda is identified as the European country, Ukraine, replete with a capital of Kiev! I noticed I'm not the first person to report this, but the developers don't seem to read these comments, or don't prioritize fixing their program. Whatever the reason for this amazing error, I would NOT BUY THIS APP UNTIL YOU KNOW THE INFORMATION IN IT IS ACCURATE.

This app has the function of quizzing on country locations that I was looking for but needs 2 key improvements: 1) the maps are too small or hard to see. You should be able to zoom in to any level during the quiz. 2) you should be able to choose regions for the quiz, like Latin America or Europe. This could be a great app!

This application is very educational and definitely worth the money I paid for it. The Wiki and CIA options are particularly useful, and in addition to maps, you have a ton of basic facts about each country. I also appreciated the quiz option, which is another useful tool for reinforcing countries' locations, capitals, and flags. Definitely recommend for anyone looking to improve their geography and knowledge of countries. The one thing I would put on a "wish list" for the developer would be to have an option to choose countries from a world map in addition to the alphabetical list, but otherwise perfect.

Very well designed and love the quizzes and CIA factbook data. Need to check some of the answers in the quiz as there are a few errors (eg Uganda identified as Ukraine in at least one instance).

This isn't very challenging. It gives you multiple choice which is too easy to solve. Also it's April 2009 and it still lists the President as George W. Bush. It's nicely set up but not enough substance behind it.

Everytime I take a quiz it just ends right when I am doing good. It never saves my score!!!!

You'd be surprised when you might need quick access to this type of info! I was on a cruise with no reception, and there was a world capitals quiz that offered a $10 prize! Needless to say, I had access to every capital in the world(all on the phone, didn't need Internet), studied this app for 30 mins, and got 40/40 on the competion! I also do high school quiz bowl so I like this type of stuff anyways, but $1 can't hurt!

the quiz is not the best interface and it is a bit buggy. I have regular crashes when doing the identify country from shape quiz.

Worked fine on my iPod touch but now I have the iPhone 3gs and it crashes after about 2 minutes into the quiz. The quiz questions should be a little harder. I.e. Don't give the option Germany when the country shown is brazil. Or the option USA when Italy is shown. It should be countries from at least the same continent. Other than that it's very informative and a good practice for those whose strength isn't geography (sadly in america they don't educate about the rest of the world) so to all the high schoolers out there choose this app over one that just makes fart sounds.

This is an app with great potential the Europe only version has been updated and is steller. If they update this one in the same way and fix the bugs it will be a 5 star app!!!

I use this App a lot - and love it! A suggestion I have for the Flag Memory Match game: as you select a card and a flag turns over, please put the country's name across the bottom at that time -- not just when you get the correct match. By seeing the country's name and the flag at the same time it will be much easier to learn the flags. I think this will be an easy addition for you, but one that will make learning the flags/countries much better. Thanks!
