I love having the freedom to "directionally filter" search results. This app is way more useful than regular mapping or search apps because you can just point your phone in the direction you want to explore. Not just for restaurants, but any location in Google or Wiki, you can find in World Surfer.

Bionic Vision

This app is great! If you use a little imagination, it's like you're reaching out from your location with a sort of bionic vision. I'm finding lots of interesting things near me that I didn't know were here.

Glad this update came through. After I had updated the firmware on my 3GS the app became kind of unstable. Now it's back to being solid as a rock, and I can get back to exploring my town with ease. Word Surfer is a great app! Get it. Once you start using it you'll be hooked. It's perfect for finding just about anthing you need, or finding out about anything you are curious about. Can't wait to use this when I travel.

Paradigm shift

I try not to be overly dramatic or effusive when writing reviews, but this is the kind of app that is going to change the way we interact with our world. The ability to instantly be an expert on you local surroundings even if you've never been in the city before turns us all into psychics. With apps like this we become one step closer to omniscient. Even better, this particular app is well built and very intuitive. No help file needed for at least the normal uses. Stunning. To use the cliche, "a bargain at twice the price."

World Surfer is great!

I needed to call the local bookstore up the street and I forgot the name of it, so I launched my World Surfer application, chose "bookstore" and pointed my phone in the direction of the store and their info came up. It was so easy! I found the bookstore, called and ordered the book that I needed in less than a minute, now that's service!!

How many times have I been in an unfamiliar area trying to find gas, my bank, starbucks, whatever? Well a lot. My standalone gps is a pain in such situations. This app fills that void. I look forward to using it more and more!

This might be the most useful app ever made for the iPhone, and I am not exaggerating. Where's my car? Where's the nearest bathroom? Oh my heavens this is fricking AWESOME! Great job guys! Now you just need to add car rentals (and van rentals!) :)
