Calendar16 Sun, 20 Feb 2011 21:02:13 UTC +00:00
This post originally appeared on the American Express OPEN Forum, where Mashable regularly contributes articles about leveraging social media and technology in small business. One of the keys to small business success is managing money. Whether it’s cash flow, credit or expenses, having money when you need it keeps the business going. More importantly, it can enable owners to make the investments necessary to grow their businesses. With today’s smartphone technology, it’s easier than ever to keep track of financial indicators. Here are 21 iPhone apps — all free — to help you stay informed and monitor your finances. Let us know which you use in the comments below. Name your bank, and they probably have an app. Most offer similar features, however a couple have some different options that, depending on your situation, could be valuable. Bank of America, Wells Fargo Mobile and PNC Mobile Banking have mobile banking apps Read More
Dear Apple: What we want to see for iPhone 4.0, part 1
Calendar16 Mon, 11 Jan 2010 02:00:00 UTC +00:00
A week ago we asked you, the TUAW reader, to help us tell Apple what you want in the next iPhone: the OS, the apps, the hardware. Within two hours, I had over two hundred emails in my inbox. Within four days, the email total topped 1,100. As I was shifting and sorting through all your suggestions, one thing became clear: you love the iPhone, but you want to see it better, more intuitive, and more versatile – and you know how the iPhone can accomplish those goals. This is the first of a series of letters to Apple on your behalf, telling the gang in Cupertino what would make their wonder-phone even more wondrous. This letter strictly focuses on the iPhone OS in general – the home screen, navigation, and settings. Future letters will deal with hardware and applications. There were so many suggestions, I needed to whittle them down. Read More

keeping iStockManager!
Trader22 3.0 stars Version: 1.0
UI is nice but hasn't got 10% of the info iStockManager gives you.
Not what I hoped for...
Elation_Station 1.0 stars Version: 1.0
In what has become a fairly competitive markets of Finance APps, I really expected mroe given that they followed both Bloomberg and DailyFinance Apps and had a chance to learn off them. They clearly took the chart concept from DailyFinance but I am at a loss to see how they improved upon it -- in fact -- it is less then. Is their returns data?
Doesn't do anything.
JW0000001 1.0 stars Version: 1.0
This app might be great if it ever works. When I start the app, it acts like it is loading but no data ever comes up. Indicies don't load, stocks don't load, news doesn't load, etc.

Mcchiang 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Love this app. Importing my portfolio is a sick feature along with having tech ticker in the palm of my hand. Good stuff Yahoo!
Perfect port of the desktop YHOO Finance to the iPhone!
Bobby! 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Will only get better with updates!
Wow! Mist have Finance app
Snehal 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Totally blown off by this app. Yahoo has din a fascinating job. Now I just don't need to check any site for financial news and quotes. Such a complete and fascinating experience
Awesome app!
alexis82 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
It works and looks great!!! I love the possibility to customize everything! So much info!!! Bloomberg should take lessons from Yahoo! for their app. Keep it up Yahoo!
Great with two inprovements
Nicpow! 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
Great app compared to the iPhone stocks app. Two improvements: Rearranging stuff is very confusing I want to be able to get to an article directly by clicking on it from the expanded stock overview. Otherwise: nice, well done!
My Yahoo Finance Love Cotinues to Grow!
falkinpro1 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
While I am used to refreshing the Yahoo Finance homepage throughout the day I never could get this access on the road until now. The Yahoo Finance app does a perfect job of displaying the key homepage data (market indices and headlines news) that I am addicted to. The quotes and chart data is fantastic as well, great job Yahoo!!!
Good For Finance
Jaywalker-iPhone 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
I've had this app for about five minutes now and it appears to replace the full online version that I've used for years very well. More after I've used it awhile, but so far it's functional.
Almost!
pacific 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
Excellent App, except very difficult to figure out how to edit and rearrange my own stocks. 4 out of 5 stars. Almost excellent, but still not there yet.
Finance OMG
kuduba 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
This Y! Finance app is AMAZING!
Best financial app so far
Teddy Nel 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
It's the best complement to Yahoo finance website.
Much Better than CNN
mcdlacrosse9 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
After hoping CNN would come out with an amazing new money app, I had to go back to yahoo. Very easy to use and customizable. It's a great way to stay updated on the go.
Need symbols not descriptions only
RoadSkolar 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
Love the app but need symbols to know what your trading.
great improvement
Matty from la 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
so much more useful than the original app!
Some Help wpould be nice
Drew.lj 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
Features are pretty good but how on earth do you move the quotes around. No help files to be found and it certainly isn't intuitive. Other than that seems to be decent but "Daily Finance" is still better.
Mostly good
benci007 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
Very polished, especially for the price. Clean and useful. Stock rearranging can be cumbersome the first time around though. My biggest gripes so far: 1) I can't see my whole portfolio, only the individual stocks. It doesn't load cost basis or any transaction data. 2) currency conversion is rather weak. I need to look at Korean Won (krw) and it only shows in Korean won, not the flip side, of USD to KRW. Which, because there are over 1000 won to every dollar, makes percentage changes useless. You need to be able to flip between currencies. Also, there is no way to add new currencies to the home screen. First impression, minus those two gripes, it's nice overall. I'd like to see full portfolio integration, though. Thanks for a solid app, Yahoo.
Late to the Game – Not Worth the Wait
TwistedPixel 2.0 stars Version: 1.0
Being so late to the game of finance apps, I would think Yahoo would have at least the same types of content and quality I can get in DailyFinance or even Bloomberg for free. The app is awkward and a bit hard to navigate. The charting is simple and not very exciting compared to the others especially DailyFinance. I guess the one unique feature is the Tech Ticker video, but there is only three videos, barely enough to be a significant part of an app and every time i clicked a video i get an error saying "could not access the requested movie." Editing is a bit hard to figure out as well and in most cases I am not sure how valuable some of the edit capabilities are. I would recommend sticking to DailyFinance for comprehensive US data and beautiful display and eTrade for trading if you are a serious finance person.
Replaces the built-in stock app!
yingchun79 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Love it! No longer have to open safari to read financial news.
Ok
Saidahz 3.0 stars Version: 1.0
It's a definite improvement over the native iPhone sticks app but it's still not quite there.
Another great Yahoo app
winks22 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
love this app. Enjoy watching the Tech Ticker videos on my way to work
Can't track my portafolio
Eugeeen 2.0 stars Version: 1.0
this app would have been perfect if I could see my portfolio with all the characteristics; symbol, shares, price paid, last trade, day change, holding values, total gain, etc. Just like in normal browser.
Nothing special
Mosscreek 1.0 stars Version: 1.0
I deleted the app. No special features I can just use yahoo finance on the browser rather having the app on my phone
Really......?
Blackfire 2.0 stars Version: 1.0
Why..... Why......? For a company who needed to bring its "A" game to the table for everything it does ( Hint: stock price in the tank ), why would it not Beta test this app before its release. Good luck trying to look up stocks. Maybe the app will find it maybe it won't..... Try getting reliable real time quotes or just getting real time quotes at all. How about No features... thats right No added featues for graphs. If you need a good finance App Try Daily Finance. Or if you need streaming real time data and don't mind opening a free account try E Trade Mobile Pro. Why Yahoo......? Why half a@# 's it.
Mr.
Chaplainson 2.0 stars Version: 1.0
App does not give access to yahoo portfolios. Info is good but portfolio access would make this app much better.
Not as expected
lamrin 3.0 stars Version: 1.0
The interface looks sleek, even better than other financial apps. But what is most missing is to be able to track your portfolia like in the main site. It does allow you to import, but the display of the data is bad. Not sectioned out and does not have all the fields as specified thru the website. That was one feature I really wanted on this app.
Good
oinonio 3.0 stars Version: 1.0
Needs full portfolio integration, and a streamlining of it. "importing" is cumbersome, and not all my portfolios are visible... But good for a 1.0
GREAT
Holguinero 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
This is a great app!!!
There are better financial apps
someguycalledmarty 3.0 stars Version: 1.0
No integration that I could easily find to my Yahoo portfolios. The app claims real-time quotes, but actually quotes are delayed by 15 minutes. It even says so in one of the screecaps.
Nice charts
Tommy 0123456789 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Mobile yahoo financial portal, I really like this app.
Well done, with one suggestion
Neumuzik 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
I recommend replacing the full company names with their stock symbols (or at least making that an option) with the imported Yahoo Finance personal stock portfolios. This is a tremendously useful first version of the app... keep improving it and keep Google on their toes, Yahoo!
Almost there
rjallen15 3.0 stars Version: 1.0
Add full portfolio integration with streaming updates and this app gets 5 stars
