Ten iOS Games for Nintendo Fans, Part One
Calendar16 Mon, 11 Jul 2011 16:07:07 UTC +00:00
Although it was always a long shot, the news that Nintendo still has absolutely no plans to publish their games on any other platforms will have come as a disappointment to many.  But not to worry, as help is at hand for those who don’t mind substituting the real thing for a clone or two! Here are the first five in our top ten countdown of popular published-by-Nintendo games and their closest iOS equivalents: Easily the most recognizable of any Nintendo game, or perhaps of any video game, Mario is perhaps the hardest to clone without attracting the attention of the lawyers.  We reviewed Super World Adventures and found it to be a fun platform experience, with more than a little hint of Super Mario games of old.  It’s still available for free inside the App Store, and although we don’t want to tempt fate, it could be worth grabbing it Read More

If you’re on the lookout for a new app this weekend, then you’re in luck as there are a few great titles on sale at the moment.  We’ve gathered together a variety of them below, and included some easy links to the App Store. The iPhone version of this classic graphical adventure game is regarded as one of the very best adaptations, and if you haven’t played it before then now’s the time to give it a shot.  It’s not for everyone though, as it’s a fairly straight point-and-click adventure with a brilliant atmosphere.  $0.99/£0.59. If you’re one of the very few iPhone/iPad owners who hasn’t purchased Infinity Blade, then perhaps the new multiplayer update has tempted you.  If it has, then it has been reduced for a limited time.  $2.99/£1.79. While the rest of the world anxiously waits for GLaDOS to reboot, Gamevil announced on our forums late last night that Zenonia 3: The Midgard Story will be released on April 28th. In fact, if you want to know basically anything about the game, the beta testing thread on our forums is full of more information than anyone would likely ever need to know about it. We also got a good amount of time with the game back at GDC, and explained the game's premise: Exciting stuff eh? Among other improvements Zenonia 3 will also sport Retina Display graphics and some of the best animation we've seen out of the series yet. In other related news the original Zenonia [99¢] dropped to a buck in anticipation. We had a great time with the game when we reviewed it back in 2009, although admittedly the original Zenonia is a little old and Read More

My fingers are getting numb from writing Internet articles about sales on the App Store, but because I love all of you as strongly as one of my apartment kittens, I have decided to persevere and pen yet another article about price slashes. This time, I want to point you towards publisher Gamevil’s Verizon “Welcome to iPhone” sale, which sees a lot of its top apps receiving big cuts in celebration of the new market. Here’s the list: Also, check this out: Gamevil and Paw Print Games are teaming up to put out Kami Retro, a gorgeous retro-stylized 2D platformer, on the App Store. Details are being held close to the vest at the moment, but the following video sheds a little light on what you can expect, which is to say, traditional and level-based platform hopping. Grabbing little collectibles for points appears to be a main focus as well. “Kami Read More

Happy Thanksgiving – Here Are a TON of Games on Sale
Calendar16 Thu, 25 Nov 2010 11:04:08 UTC +00:00
Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays, and has been all my life. What's there not to love about an entire day revolving around eating massive amounts of turkey, stuffing, and all the other fixings? Sure, I could do without needing to feign interest in football, but thankfully tryptophan overload usually allows me to sleep through all of that. If you're looking for something to do this year while you do your best to either pretend to be interested in football or anxiously wait for the food to be done, there are a ton of sales on the App Store to consider. The basis of this post comes from SirAwesome's awesome thread in our new price drops, freebies, and deals forum. He put together an extremely exhaustive listing of everything that's on sale, and the thread is good to stop by just to make sure you're not missing anything that might Read More

A few news items from the business side of iPhone games this week, courtesy of the folks over at Mobile Entertainment. Ngmoco has purchased developer Stumptown Game Machine, creators of their popular Touch Pets Dogs release. Unfortunately, there's no information on how much the deal was worth, but it's a pretty obvious pickup for Ngmoco, which is working on building a stable of freemium titles and developers to produce them. My money's still on an Ngmoco/Booyah deal at some point, too -- Ngmoco has the money to pick up a few other smaller developers thanks to funding, and Booyah has the app and the dedicated users that Ngmoco wants. The two companies have already collaborated with a MyTown promotion on Ngmoco's We Rule, but I can see it going farther eventually. Elsewhere, EA Mobile reported a big growth in profits over the last quarter, up 12% year-over-year. The company attributes revenues Read More
Gamevil’s original Zenonia turned out to be quite a hit and is still regarded as one of the better action RPGs available for the iPhone and iPod touch, so it comes as no surprise that RPG lovers have been waiting rather impatiently for the sequel.  Well folks, that day has finally arrived as Zenonia 2: The Lost Memories is now available in the App Store. Zenonia 2 expands on the original game in almost every way.  Instead of just supplying a single character like the original, the game features four distinct classes to choose from: the Paladin, Shooter, Magician, and Warrior.  Each character has their own unique traits and abilities with some being more suited for long range attacks while others for melee combat.  Zenonia 2 also gives you the ability to customize your character with what Gamevil claims to be “millions of costume combinations” and thousands of different items. Gamevil, the developers of Zenonia and Baseball Superstars 2010, have revealed some new information for Zenonia 2: The Lost Memories, and has also released a new trailer for their upcoming artistic action RPG Vanquish: The Oath of Brothers. The original Zenonia, launched in May of this year, was quite a hit among iPhone and iPod touch gamers because it brought a “real” RPG experience to the platform.  Now the developers intend to expand on that experience in Zenonia 2: The Lost Memories. The game will feature four distinct characters to choose from, a Paladin, Shooter, Magician, and Warrior, instead of the single character you were stuck with in the original.  The Magician and Warrior classes will be capable of attacking from a distance thanks to their range skills.  Zenonia 2 will also feature three levels of difficulty, which should help the game appeal to newcomers and veterans.  Playing on the Hard and Read More
Jan 15th 2010 at 10:00AM that song starts to get really good at the end! I want to hear the rest of it! Raging Thunder 2 doesn't even look anything like the first, which is a good thing. Besides the graphics, the game was boring even back when it came out before games like Real Racing debuted. This looks infinitely more enjoyable. It's faster, and the icons on the road don't seem to be so integral to making 1st in a race. I tried booting up the first game last night after seeing the sneak peak of the sequel, and it really is a pretty bad game. Hitting the icons is extremely hard, and you need to get every one of them in order to come in 1st. This game doesn't need to try hard to top it. Btw, what is it with Polarbit games looking really nice but playing like Read More
'Zenonia 2' Details Revealed
Calendar16 Thu, 14 Jan 2010 00:54:01 UTC +00:00
Gamevil's action RPG Zenonia [$2.99 / Free] was among the first "full" RPG experiences on the iPhone, and is still a game that is thoroughly recommended amongst our community whenever a "What game should I get?" thread pops up on the forums. Its sequel is something which will no doubt be as highly anticipated as its initial release, and of this evening Gamevil gave us a few details on what to expect. Zenonia 2 will have four distinctly different character classes: The paladin, shooter, magician, and warrior. Ranged attacks are also being implemented, allowing players to use various skills to attack from a distance. New difficulty modes are also being added, aside from the standard "normal" difficulty, "hard" and "hell" modes will allow hardcore players to access additional loot and a hidden boss stage only available in the higher difficulty modes. There are also new terrain effects thrown in to the Read More

Gamevil’s Zenonia RPG Review
Calendar16 Mon, 28 Sep 2009 16:21:30 UTC +00:00
Sep 28 iPhone News   8:21 am      (0) Comments In my opinion, Zenonia  by Gamevil has to be one of the BEST action RPG games in the iTunes AppStore to date. At $2.99 this game has amazing replay value and longevity. You can play as up to three different character classes and choose between good and evil. So far I’ve played about 50 hours and I think the closest game that describes the gameplay is Zelda or Secret of Mana. I know what you’re thinking, it’s a tall order and yes it is. I have to say in my opinion, Zenonia delivers on all fronts. Zenonia is complete with a free-ranging surface world as well as dungeons. Of course, monsters are easily found throughout the world and are more than happy to provide you with equipment (potions, weapons, etc.). One of the initial problems that I had involved not having a Read More

'Zenonia' and 'Defender Chronicles' Weekend Sales
Calendar16 Fri, 17 Jul 2009 18:00:14 UTC +00:00
Gamevil's epic action RPG Zenonia [App Store] can now be had for 50% off, knocking the price down to $2.99. We've extensively covered Zenonia in the past between our review, then announcing the update that fixed most of the problems we found initially, and the whole time the thread in our forums has been going crazy. Zenonia Lite [App Store] is also available, and we really recommend giving it a try. The controls still take some time to get used to, but Zenonia remains unrivaled in the action RPG genre on the iPhone. Chillingo's Defender Chronicles [App Store] is also on sale today for 99¢. The game takes a new spin on tower defense games, and is presented in a sideways view where you defend from creeps that are either climbing up or down a mountain. With extensive voice over work and RPG elements scattered throughout the game, Defender Chronicles is Read More
'Zenonia' 1.1 - Controls and Balancing Improved
Calendar16 Tue, 30 Jun 2009 16:39:52 UTC +00:00
Zenonia [App Store] is an epic action RPG has seen a phenomenal reception both from review sites and on our forums. I reviewed it when it was released last month, and aside from a few minor 1.0 annoyances, I really enjoyed the game. At $5.99, it is an unbelievable value for the amount of gameplay you're getting. At over 40 hours per play-through, three classes, along with the good and evil alignment system, Zenonia should provide for at least a second fresh play-through as you choose the opposite alignment of your previous game. There really isn't anything like it on the App Store, and if you're looking for a solid RPG to settle in and sink your teeth in to, look no further than Zenonia. Gamevil has once again reaffirmed their reputation of listening to community feedback with Zenonia 1.1, as every change implimented is something that the players have asked Read More

Nella versione precedete avrete notato che il personaggio aveva sempre bisogno di cibo e le nostre scorte si esaurivano velocemente. Nella versione 1.1 invece, il timer è stato ribilanciato ed il risultato è senza dubbio migliore. 'Real Racing' - Now THIS Is a Racing Game.
Calendar16 Tue, 09 Jun 2009 18:55:36 UTC +00:00
While Flight Control [App Store] may be Australian developer Firemint’s runaway hit, they’ve been hard at work for months on Real Racing [App Store]. Prior to last week, all we saw of Real Racing was a screenshot or new trailer randomly pop up here and there, leaving iPhone communities all over the internet speculating what the final product would be like. I’ve found most iPhone racing games somewhat unappealing. While accelerometer tilt controls translate great to driving controls, they’ve all just felt a little flat. EA’s recently released Need For Speed Undercover [App Store] came close to quenching my thirst for a great racer on the platform, but fell short for a number of reasons, in my eyes. Poor AI combined with races that were hard to lose had me quickly growing bored of the game, despite its doing a great job at capturing the Need For Speed feel on the Read More
Gamevil is the fantastic company behind Zenonia and Baseball Superstars. I recently had the chance to review their latest game, Zenonia, and it blew me away; you can read my review here, but suffice to say that I thought it clearly surpassed other RPGs in the App Store. While the Korean-based company has only released two games in the US App Store so far (the other Baseball Superstars), both have been very well-received. The president of Gamevil USA, Kyu Lee, generously agreed to answer a few questions about Zenonia, Gamevil, and the App Store in general. He has some really interesting and intriguing insights—it’s not often that we get to hear things from a mobile game developer’s point of view. Parts of this interview were also used in my Search for Satisfaction editorial, but there’s plenty of additional content here! Zenonia ($5.99) The long awaited RPG by Gamevil has finally made its way onto the App Store. Zenonia has sold extremely well in Korea with it being download over 600,000 onto various mobile phones. With over 40 hours of gameplay, it was interesting to see if it is a step above the competitors. After just 30 minutes of playing the game, I can safely say YES! Zenonia is an RPG that has been hyped in online forums and blogs around the world for quite some time now. The 16 bit classic-style RPG was sculpted with care to try and provide over 40 hours of entertainment to it's players and bring a whole new standard to RPGs on the iPhone and iPod Touch. You play as a young child who was found in heat of battle. The game takes place during a conflict between the Dragon Clan and Holy Knights two different civilizations with different goals and morals. Along the way you're able to make choices that change both your alignment and the direction the game takes through the story. Zenonia features some excellent skill and weapon upgrades, offering more than any other game I've played on the iPhone to date. You gain experience by completing quests and killing monsters which enables you to boost your statistics as Read More

Die Read More

Nice graphics, but definite control/UI issues
Dr. Tails, PhD 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
The game looks great but for something that's been hyped and presumably in-development for a while, you'd expect a more refined UI. Backgrounds are colorful, Regret's faces and character emotions add a lot to the game, but movement can be difficult. Furthermore, I don't think numerous UI elements were really updated for the touchscreen: quest text has a scrollbar and an OK button, but you can't scroll or dismiss it like you'd expect, you have to use the virtual d-pad. And those that can scroll (like the help menu) are painfully slow. Finally, some critical options (including save!) are buried and difficult to find.
AMAZING
Bertrob 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Wow. I am speechless. This looks, plays, and feels like the old zelda games for the GBA. Its actually a lot better. YOU NEED THIS GAME.
A solid, yet unpolished RPG

Before the hype machine kicked into full gear, Zenonia could’ve been a new kind of pasta for all I knew. After spending a few hours with the game to the dismay of certain people, I can safely say that while Zenonia is a solid RPG, just don’t expect anything groundbreaking nor innovative about it. While content and controls are important for any game, they are especially important for RPGs which live and die on storyline, depth, and replayability. For the most part, Zenonia passes on all levels, but there are definitely quirks in the game.
Oh. My. God.

If you are to get any app on the app store, you should get this one. I've played a grand total of 5 minutes, and this is by far the best game on the iPhone/iPod Touch.
BEST GAME EVER!!!!!!!

acole18 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
this game is definitely awesome, I mean the beginning story and graphics just shows how much quality went into a game such as this. I noticed that before the game was put out duing the beta the virtual d-pad was huge but they shrunk it down to where it doesn't distract the gamer from losing focus of the game. The animations are defintely superb and fit the anime wolrd an atmosphere. The gamply really shines and stays as a true rpg style game.. so many types of armors and weapons its enough to satisfy your iphone rpg dreams. :D i love this game so far an only hope more addition content will be added in future updates.
Amazing. This is a must have for anyone who likes RPGs!!

jnovakii 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
Take my 4 star rating lightly right now but it gets 4 stars because of how hard it is to read the items you have and the menu screen. Other than that small gripe, this game is amazing already. Very nice job Gamevil!!! You guys are money! Buy this game everyone, the deepest game in the app store, feels very professionally done as well.
RPG fans rejoice!
Rylin25 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Finally an rpg experience with polished game play, involving characters and deep customization. If your looking for a good iPhone rpg, you can't go wrong with Zenonia. Worth every penny for the amount of content your getting here

There have been high quality games on the iPhone, but nothing that comes close to Zenonia. The first true no-brainer. Buy it now. I'd write more, but I want to play.

Finally a Game worth getting excited for!
De_an777 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Unbelievable. This game is amazing and excells where so many iPhone games before it failed. This game has multiple endings and side quests, there is a good and evil path decision tree that effects gameplay and the hero's outcome. Gameplay is amazing and smooth and very well executed. Everything I have been waiting for and more. Great job Gamevil. You guys rock!!!!
Zelda meets Fable for the Iphone

Solid action adventure with an evolving plot based upon your choices. To heckfire with the fact it's on the iPhone-that's just a bonus. I've been waiting for a game like this since 'Link To The Past. Best RPG for the Iphone. Best money spent. Gamevil: Please make more titles like this one!!!

Amazing. Nuff' said. Just wish you could move diagonally, however the D-pad works great.
Think Zelda plus Final Fantasy
ticookie 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
This game is the real deal. One of the few games I'm actually satisfied with on the console. Controls are a little rough, but it's simplistic enough for anyone to learn, and deep enough for the most hardcore. No regrets.
Great! Good RPG.
Greg2217 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Love it
Amazing DS or PSP quality game.
MGS2SS 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
You definately need this game. I would be willing to spend $30 on this if it came out on the DS. Just be aware that it isn't entirely family-friendly. There are a lot of vulgar jokes and some swear words (like the f-word. Not that it really matters, but some may find that offensive).
Best

Needs a bit more attention to detail

The look of the game is great. The story, so far, seems engaging— though it seems like it might be predictable.
Fantastic game
ddragon292 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Worth every penny, my only quarrel being with the story and the "good/evil" dovelopement. It just seems that gamevil didn't put much time at all into making it feel at all right or work properly... For example... Early in the game you are given the choice to help one of the evil characters in the game who appears to be being "bullied" by one of the good characters, however the main character doesn't know that the evil character in question is at all evil. Still dispite what he knows or does not know, if you choose to help her you get points for being "evil" even if it seems you are doing the right thing... Now this wouldn't be a problem but this happens a lot, there just is no clear line between what choices are evil and what are good, what seems good at the time can be evil and what is evil can actually be good. This really hurts the immersion and often makes the gamer wonder just how much time did gamevil take to actually make sure that things like this were coherant?
Best RPG to hit the appstore yet.
Lloyd C 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Gamevil is a quality developer and this game brings the full length of play as advertised, the art and gameplay are fantastic and so are the script and dialogue which has humourous and emotional moments at times. This is definitely a game you must get if you even slightly like RPG games.
Great RPG
brc1981 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
After getting used to the controls this is by far the best RPG for the ipod/iphone. Have been playing for several hours and so far I'm very impressed. Well worth the $6 price point.
Thanks all
GAMEVIL Inc. 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
ZENONIA finally made out! We thank all of your support and hope you guys enjoy. Any feedbacks and criticism is welcome. P.S. Special thanks to TA CBTesters
Not an iPhone game...
Storm Knight 2.0 stars Version: 1.0
Graphics are pretty good, but this is NOT an iPhone game. The controls are horrible, and the interfaces are hard to read. I wish people would stop porting games to the iPhone and start making games for the iPhone. This game is probably amazing on another platform... What a waste of $6. This game should have been no more than 3$.
A Big Disappointment
Florser 2.0 stars Version: 1.0
After reading all these stellar reviews (which I'm now beginning to question the authenticity of), I jumped in and bought Zenonia. As a huge fan of 2D Zelda games, I figured it would be the perfect fit. But what I found was a huge disappointment that I never play. The graphics are blurry (upscaled pixel graphics, designed to look retro) and the control is terrible and inaccurate via tiny on-screen buttons. This game might be decent on another platform, but for iPod it just ends up being a mess. I wish I had my $6 back.
Amazing except controls
sjoon84 3.0 stars Version: 1.0
I am a big fan of Gamevil especially their baseball game but this game really needs better control. Since its not turn based it is hard to fight using the virtual dpad. I hope this improves in the near future.
My favorite RPG
Kieroda 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
This is an amazing game. I've always thought that the only way that could have made the zelda games better would be if they added classes and magic like dnd or final fantasy. And here it is in all it's cartoon glory. It's great. The only thing that could make it better would be if you added archer and Mage classes so that we could get some ranged attacks. For those complaning about controlls THEY'RE NOT THAT BAD!!! I've tried Inotia and sure they're more responsive but the gameplay that comes out of them is BORING! The D-pad could be a little more responsive and maybe just switch it to a joystick kind of thing.
WOW
AMesenbrink 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
This is an actual action RPG on the iPhone. Zenonia Looks and sound great. I'm only about 2 1/2 hours in but at this point I feel it is worth the money. Thanks for bringing this out Gamevil.
Great classic rpg
SoCal_Sponger 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
Very fun, better RPG than Underworld and The Quest. A little confusing at first, takes some time to learn the game, but the length and depth for only $6 is definitely worth the price. My only complaint is the main quest requires you to level to fast. Even with doing all of the side quests, I still have to farm creatures for a couple more lvls until I hit the suitable lvl.
My new favorite iPhone game.
WarioMan 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
This is an awesome action RPG with the best on-screen Dpad I've seen yet. The animation and effects are great, I'm sure I'll be playing this for a long time. You're lying to yourself if you think you don't want it.
Good but needs some work
Psycho Mantis 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
From what I've seen this game definately reminds me of an SNES-era RPG, including the good and bad. From what I've seen so far, the gameplay seems pretty smooth even though even with the speed at max is a tad slow unless you dash; which is one of some of the things not mentioned in the in game help file. This reminds me of most SNES games I've owned which were used and w/o a manual.  Story wise, most of the text of people talking sounds fairly natural and like someone would talk. There are some odd moments of Engrish with odd sentence structure or other oddities. I also wish you could name your character; seriously, who names their kid Regret? Other odd names that seem out of place amoung the Gregs and Billys ate Tender and Pardon. These just seem odd to me. Overall, this could have easily have been a DS game and cost $35+ dollars. For what's offered this is a great deal. If you like Zelda Cronicles of Inotia or just want a great game this one's for you!
The best rpg in the app store
Flottorama 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
So far, I like the game a lot. Graphics are well done and it seems to be very deep in gameplay. For me the control pad is a little too sensitive. I give this game a solid four stars. Gamevil games are very solid!
Fun! Retro style!
MUHFETUS 4.0 stars Version: 1.0
Perfect game yet i never get into lengthy cut scenes. 4 stars, awesome game worth the price!
ZOMG
juno151 5.0 stars Version: 1.0
this is the best rpg on the platform. it feels like a mix of diablo/zelda with GBA style graphics that remind me of pokemon. the controls work really well for the virtual Dpad and combat is fun. it even has diablo esc skill trees ( not as big) that are cool and has 3 different classes. the game has a choice system so you can go through it evil, neutral or good. the second i saw the pictures i knew this is what i had been looking for on the ipod touch/iphone and its the best $6 ive spent in long while.
Don't buy.
Fffjuygdjjgidjjcdwt 1.0 stars Version: 1.0
Piece of crap game. Just pray that your char didn't get stuck like mine did cause you mine as well throw him away. Spend more time running to town to repair then actual fighting. If you do a dungeon you have to run past almost everything without killing or your gear will all break and you have to go back to town. Controls are also the worst I've ever seen.
lets get real here...
wrackune 1.0 stars Version: 1.0
This game advertises itself like its worth being on the front page of ign, so I'll review it like one.
Waste of money
JJ1327 1.0 stars Version: 1.0
Way overpriced. There are far better games even at the 99 cent level. Don't waste your time or money on this one.
Amazing
Ggvhigd 1.0 stars Version: 1.0
Though it could be good its unplayable because of the extremely tiny "quick slots" which aren't quick because they take repeated taps to make work, and the d pad which makes it hard to move around or face your enemy,
Best RPG on the iPhone/iPod Touch so far
The iGamer 5.0 stars Version: 1.1
So much better than The Chronicles of Inotia: The Legend of Fenor. For only 5.99 this is a great steal. Plz keep the good games coming Gamevil. My only problem is that there doesn't seem to be anywhere to store rare weapons and items when your level is to low to use those weapons or items.
Amazing
Cliff Jameston 5.0 stars Version: 1.1
When you are considering whether or not to buy this game, consider these two things: 1) this game ranks up there in my top 5 best videogames ever alongside legend of zelda 3, pong, super smash bros. brawl, and halo 2. And 2) a game of this caliber on an average gaming console would usually cost around 5-8 times what this does, depending what console. I'll leave the decision up to you, but I know that the only reason I put down the game to write this review is because my iPod went down to 20% battery again, and I'm too lazy to get a charger, but don't want to lose data in my game.
Like SNES RPG's? Look no Further.
Owensfantasy 5.0 stars Version: 1.1
First I had to ask myself if I wanted to spend the money on this. I didn't know what to expect as it was the first rpg I played on my Touch. After reading the majority of the reviews, I decided to give it a shot. Now looking back, it is definately, by far, worth the little money it is. Basically, it's an RPG worth 5.99$. Don't see that very often at all for what it offers. Great job Gamevil!
Great game
Jcliu 5.0 stars Version: 1.1
This game is pretty nice. Contrary to others' opinions, I think the new D-pad works better. I'm actually able to run right up to the monster instead of going past it several times using the old D-pad. The hot keys for skills/items should be edited a bit in order for the user to easily access it, or else it has no worth. What I suggest is that put two hotkeys on the right side and two on the bottom while increasing its default size. This way, it can be more easily accessed. I barely use any hotkeys because of this inconvenience.
Great game
demonnoir 5.0 stars Version: 1.1
But it lags alot like during a fight or something and Dpad is rough to control...so maybe a joystick like the Sparta game would be better
Wow

A Must Buy for RPG Ipod phans.
Youjinbo 5.0 stars Version: 1.1
New version has drastically improved controls, however, I'm not big on the transparent aspect of controls. I thought they were better eye candy when they were not transparent and were one of the things that somewhat drew me to the game. If you're going to put effort into making nice looking control graphics, I want to see them! I'm so glad they tightened up the controls for movement better though. GET THIS GAME, so they make $$ for a sequel!!
Wow. Amazing.
Yukitor 5.0 stars Version: 1.1

Hands Down the Best RPG on Iphone/iPod Touch!
Quou 5.0 stars Version: 1.1
This is an epic Action RPG that has all the aspects of a good RPG with very few flaws. This game has excellent gameplay, fluid controls (upgraded in this version), anime style graphics, optional sounds, involving story in which your choices will affect the outcome, long gameplay, high replayability, and most important of all, tons and tons of FUN!!!
Pure Awesome.
Bckjj88 5.0 stars Version: 1.1
For those of you complaining about the lack of background music, check the options and you can get it back.
Arguably the best RPG on the iPhone
